"World of Cardboard" Speech, Rousing Speech
We can never truly eradicate the coronavirus, but we can suppress its threat like influenza^ Don't think you read closely enough.
This is more of a "The Reason You Suck" Speech (protagonist to themselves and fellow heroes form) and What the Hell, Hero? as Bob hits a Despair Event Horizon. Topics discussed include Destructive Saviour, Hero Insurance, Not So Different, and the Superhero Paradox.
Depending on the response of the characters, Bob's particular speech here has a very good chance of becoming a Heroic Heelization Speech or triggering an Armor-Piercing Response: say, Alice responds with something like I Am What I Am, Not So Similar, a "World of Cardboard" Speech, or Shut Up, Hannibal!, and goes off to finish saving the day from worse things than collateral damage, with or without Bob's whining self.
