Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
It's Trivia and hasn't had an Example Sectionectomy, so it looks like examples can be listed, and that there just aren't any on-page examples.
Edit: Only 51 wicks listed. Looks like it just isn't commonly used, not that there are any restrictions on use.
Edited by GastonRabbit Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Honestly, though, I'd say it's more advisable not to. The concept is general enough, but going into specifics sounds like it could irritate people for judging their fandoms.
^After thinking about it more, I wouldn't object to making it a definition-only page, especially since the limited amount of wicks would make the transition easy. The page also seems more like YMMV than Trivia.
Edited by GastonRabbit Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. What about Obscurity Pages 1 and Obscurity Pages 2, which are similar?
^There is no Sliding Scale Of Obscurity trope, nor does JustForFun.Sliding Scale Of Obscurity exist despite those being indexed on Just for Fun, so I don't even know what those are for.

That's why Fandom Life Cycle could be YMMV. There are some YMMV tropes that have annoyed me, but that's because they're YMMV and I don't have to agree with them.
Edited by Mickoonsley19Since the trope currently has an example list, yes you can add an example.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI will add the rest of the examples soon.
The Obscurity pages are sandboxes. they were originally in the main namespace, but were cut because it's impossible to objectively judge a work's obscurity. However, they're very popular with users, so one of these days I'm going to propose that we move them into the Just for Fun namespace.
Am I allowed to add a list of examples for this? Fandom Life Cycle
