A combo platter of Retcon(possibly Revision if they don't directly contradict the previous plot, just reframe it), Halfway Plot Switch, and Shocking Swerve

We can never truly eradicate the coronavirus, but we can suppress its threat like influenza
I asked this in Ask the Tropers and they told me to come here. Here is my query.
Ok so, let's say a game has two parts. Part 1 has a plot that seems pretty straightforward, characters are established. Then Part 2 comes along and suddenly there are new plot points that seem to contradict Part 1, as well as new traits for characters that weren't there before.
A specific example I found is in the game Sally.exe Continued Nightmare: Eye of Three, of which I made a page. Part 1 has the main villain pretty much be an evil power hungry demon who is murdering the heroes to use as servants. Then Part 2 suddenly introduces new characters that the villain is actually fighting against, and the reason he is murdering so many is to protect them.
The inconsistency is largely because Part 1 is not changed much from the demo and these story elements were planned later in development.
So I don't know if something like this would be a trope.
