Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Don't see the point of consensus here, Averted Trope lists the rule, so examples that don't fit the tropes need to go. If almost a half of them are like this, then TRS would be warranted instead.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupYou see, it's just that these pages have a large amount of aversions, and I don't want to risk getting hollered over it, so I wanted to see if I should remove them all first.
I've also wondered if we should have a No Aversions Please page to curb how often aversions show up for certain trope.
Edited by PlasmaPower Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread! But "No Aversions Please" is the default policy for all tropes unless they are Omnipresent Tropes or a standard in a genre.
Edited by Amonimus TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupIf a page gets more aversions than straight examples, that's a sign that it might not be a real trope and should go to TRS.
... but in the meantime, yes, remove boring aversions.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.So... I've looked at about two dozen wicks for School Bullying Is Harmless and, surprise, 99% of them are listed as aversions (or "subversions" that are actually aversions). Several examples could also be moved to Bullied into Depression, which explicitly states itself to be an aversion of SBIH.
What's the best course of action here? Do I go ahead and delete/move examples right away, and then see how many legit examples are left? Or is it preferable to do a wick check, count the aversions/misuses and leave them untouched on work pages for now?
Edited by rasteraxI'd say look for 50 wicks and copypaste all of them into a sandbox for future reference. Either it needs to be No Straight Examples, Please! or it's not a real trope and people consistently fail to find Bully Brutality.
TroperWall / WikiMagic Cleanup
Recently, it was brought up in the Aversion cleanup that there were multiple trope pages that largely list aversion of certain tropes like the Double Standard tropes, School Bullying Is Harmless, or Measuring the Marigolds.
I don't want to make such large changes without consensus by cutting these examples out, so I'm looking for consensus if I should go ahead and cut these.
