Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

I can't see any reason why work-specific examples shouldn't be on that work's YMMV page.
I suspect if we did that there wouldn't be enough to justify specific subpages for those tropes, though - and I wonder if that's the thinking behind it?
Either way, I'd support moving them back to YMMV unless we can demonstrate that examples (or wider themes) cross works.
Yeah move them back. I remember being told that it is best to keep YMMV specific to a specific instalment to that instalments YMMV page.
Edited by Bullman Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadSomeone named Foxy Grandpa 12 seems to have been the culprit, looking through the edits.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup Of Complaining | Troper Wall^ Not for all of them. A troper named Sunshine Edits 74 has done similar edits.
Regardless, I'll see if I can revert some of those changes at some point. I still need to hit that DC What Could Have Been page as well at some point...
Edited by MatthewWayne Trust no one.^ Mmm, so it seems it's multiple users then. Apologies.
Agree with moving them back, for the record.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup Of Complaining | Troper WallI noticed that some of the What Could Have Been entries for that DC pages that were moved back to the individual films’ pages have those moves reverted.
^ Out of curiosity, who reverted them? The users who moved them in the first place? Because that's an Edit War.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup Of Complaining | Troper Wall^ The person who removed them was a troper called AK 47 Productions. Based on his edit reason here, I think he may have mistaken my actions for being vandalism. I did explain the reasons for what I was doing in the edit reasons on each Trivia page for the installment, but forgot to put it on the DC Films and TV page itself.
Edited by MatthewWayne Trust no one.Maybe shoot him a PM and explain, with a link to the ATT?
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup Of Complaining | Troper WallDone.
Edit: He's now aware of this ATT, and apologized for the misunderstanding. Will I be able to redo the DC WHCB edits without edit warring?
Edited by MatthewWayne Trust no one. With consensus, yes.
For the record, I support undoing.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup Of Complaining | Troper Wall👍 to moving back to individual pages.
Alright, edits have been redone.
Trust no one.So if an entry has too many examples for a main page, it should get it's own page rather than be move to the franchise wide?
^ That's what I figured. I've seen it done for both Star Wars and the above mentioned Marvel Cinematic Universe amongst other franchises, and it seems to work out pretty well for them.
Of course, if there are memes that relate to the franchise as a whole rather than one specific entry, those can stay on the main page.
Trust no one.
Recently, I've noticed that a lot of YMMV entries such as Alternative Character Interpretation and Moral Event Horizon for specific installments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been moved to specific pages for the franchise as a whole, rather than staying on their respective installments' YMMV page.
I've looked over at some other big-name franchises, and I didn't see them do this with any other YMMV entries the way that's done with the MCU. Is there a specific reason for doing this? Because it's somewhat frustrating to have to navigate franchise-wide pages to look for entry-specific examples.
