Nothing Is Funnier for the line itself, Noodle Incident for the event being suggested.

If something like this is used for worldbuilding, you've got a Cryptic Background Reference. Overlap is possible, especially if you're dealing with Bathos and/or Dramedy - one of my favorite Magic The Gathering card flavor texts is a good example (akki are the goblins of this plane of the multiverse):

"Deep inside the Sokenzan Mountains, a band of akki discovered a cache of ancient items of power. Their ensuing spree of destruction became known as ‘The Three Days of Fun.'"
—Observations of the Kami War

The part about the setting being dotted with caches of ancient items of power is one of the Story Breadcrumbs introducing the set's story arc, The Three Days of Fun are left unelaborated.
