Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Suffixes should only be used if necessary. None of those examples are necessary.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Shortening those wouldn't hurt imho.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI agree with shortening them by omitting the suffixes for the types of companies they are, especially because that's usually what Wikipedia does as well, and what a lot of our pages already do. For example, both TV Tropes and Wikipedia refer to Nintendo and Microsoft as simply Nintendo and Microsoft in the titles of their articles, only mentioning the full names, Nintendo Co., Ltd and Microsoft Corporation, in the main text.
Edited by GastonRabbit Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Out of these, I question if we even need Smoking Gun Interactive, since it seems like only one of their games actually has a page (at least, only one with a blue link). Don't creators normally get a page only if multiple of their works have pages?
Edited by ZuxtronWhen I've asked something like that last time, the response was along the lines of "Creator/ pages don't have the same stub rule, so they can have short lists". Not what I like, but that'd be a different story.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI thought that the purpose of Creator/ pages was mainly to index works they make, which is why they require at least a few works with pages. But that's off topic to this specific thread so I'll cut this out for now.
Seems unneeded imo, at least in those particular examples.
Okay, so it seems that consensus is in favor of removing the suffixes. Should I move the pages manually, or is there a way for a mod to move them and preserve the histories?
Avatar by Butterscotch Arts. Used under license.Mods can do that, but specifically these histories don't really look like they need to be preserved. And if you make them redirects the histories would remain, though first edit reason would have to say where to look.

Some creator pages, such as Creator.Alpha Group Co Ltd, Creator.Cherry Bomb Comics LLC, and Creator.Smoking Gun Interactive Inc have company suffixes in the title. I feel like the pages could do without them. They could just be named (for example) "Creator.Alpha Group", "Creator.Cherry Bomb Comics", and "Creator.Smoking Gun Interactive", and it would sound more natural (and also flow better in sentences). Is there a reason the suffixes are there?
