Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
- Does the game thread have posting rules? This looks effectively like a chatroom as far as I can tell, and Coock-atoo posts just about as much as others.
- If there is a rule against it, has Coock-atoo been informed of it?
^ There's no official rules on the thread itself as far as I know, but most of us generally agree to keep sandwich posting to a bare minimum at least.
Sandwich posting isn't necessarily against the rules, but it is frowned against because it makes the games harder for others to play.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWhile there's no rule specifically against sandwich posting, doing it repeatedly despite being told to stop will lead to disciplinary action (and someone ended up on the EB thread because of it not too long ago.)
Has anyone actually told them to stop? They aren't going to stop if they don't know that they shouldn't do excessive sandwich posting. If they continue to sandwich despite people warning them not to, you can holler their posts.
Macron's notesYou can invite Coock-atoo (maybe also GeneralGigan and a few other participants) here or to a new thread and agree on post rate. I know some forum games operate on "1 joker per user until the thread stalls" since they don't have "talking" as a theme, so if the thread has some unrwitten agreements people should just be reminded of them.
For the record I don't really care if there's like a daily limit since I'm not a participant and I don't see an issue here.
Edited by Amonimus TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI sent summon DMs to Coock-atoo, General Gigan, and Shroobot3000 (the latter two because they're frequently engaging with the former) for their input. Hopefully we can clear this up.
Not exactly sure what to do with this, an actual ban on sandwich posting would make 1-on-1 conversations between two characters impossible.
SKREEEEEEEONK!^ Yeah, that's another concern I have as well.
I'm sorry, i didn't know about all that. I thought that it was kind of allowed on the avatar forum thread to sandwich, i promise to stop and to regulate my posts. Also, i was told about that rule on the spend the day with the above avatar thread, not the avatar forum thread, that's why i thinked that it was allowed here.
Edited by Coock-atoo^ As long as you're aware of the issue, it's no biggie. Just try to keep sandwich posting to a minimum, ok? Because Gigan has a point. A full ban on that would make 1-on-1 conversations impossible. The cockroach thing you did didn't seem like a 1-on-1 conversations because it looked like random posts out of the blue.
Edited by CytoZytokineOkay, i understand, Thanks. Sorry if it was annoying.
Edited by Coock-atooI'm not involved with the thread, but I'd like to say in Coock-atoo's defense that they're pretty new on the forums, so a few mistakes are expected here and there. Next time you have an issue with a poster on Forum Games, I'd recommend talking to them before bringing it to ATT.
A great Mascot Mook.^ I messed up then. I'm sorry.
Aaand I somehow didn't see this notif until way later. Oops. Well looks like it's settled already but seeing as they're a newbie I agree with cutting them some slack.
"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."Looks like the issue resolved itself so locking.
Macron's notes
So uh... I'm really at a loss on what to do here, but considering a previous thread about another Forum Game issue was brought up here recently, I figured I might as well try this to see if I can get everyone's input on the situation.
So particularly on these pages on the Avatar Forum Thread in Forum Games, Coock-atoo is getting a bit overzealous with their posting habits. They're frequently sandwich posting and it's making it difficult for the rest of us to participate properly, and overall, it just feels like they're trying to hijack the thread.
Like, I get they're having fun and I have no problems with that on paper, but this to me feels like they're taking the whole avatar RP thing a bit too far. So... what do you folks think?
