Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

All the Yu-Gi-Oh pages are a mess, to be honest... Anyways, the Sixth Ranger page is pretty specific: The trope covers "Any new character that joins an established cast and knocks it out of one of the traditional categories". So, in my opinion:
- Burning Abyss: Beatrice may support the archetype, but she is not a member of it, thus she does not meet the trope's definition. The fact that the other members of the archetype are based on Dante's Inferno while she is named after a character from Purgatorio is just icing on the cake.
- A-to-Z: Normally, new cards are added to an archetype purely as a means to overcome Power Creep, not to add to its lore. In this case, the original cast is not firmly established, so they do not qualify for this trope.
- Egyptian Gods: This one is easy. Blaze Cannon is not a monster or even a character, it's the name of an attack. Therefore, it cannot join an established cast. The example as a whole is just trivia, so cut away.
This just seems like the kind of shoehorning that comes about when people try to apply narrative tropes to game metas.
A smile better suits a heroThe lack of flavor text on anything that isn't a normal monster in YGO doesn't help with the narrative.
The card pictures and the Master Guides are the only things that give a narrative, and the former just leaves it to the viewers' imagination.
That all said, if the pages are that much of a mess, then a cleanup thread for them is in order. And I've seen many other issues besides shoehorning The Sixth Ranger.
Edited by TheNerfGuyIt does seem that a cleanup thread is necessary to deal with the persistent trope misuses on the YGO Card Game Character pages. I will be creating one soon.
EDIT: Here is the thread.

So a lot of folders on the Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Game Character Sheets use Sixth Ranger to describe... a lot of different things. These uses primarily concern the relationships between individual monster cards and card archetypes, likening the archetype to the ensemble and the individual monster to the sixth ranger in the definition of Sixth Ranger.
There might be some other fringe uses that I haven't fully covered.
My question is, are these uses misuses? Should I cut them or rephrase them to fit the trope better?
