I never wanted to have an epic romance with Marth anyway. Or any of the other characters really...
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahMystery of the Emblem really isn't the game for custom characters, it relies alot on characters who were in the first game and it takes place in a very unfriendly Crapsack World.
Now that I think about there are some Unfortunate Implications in the plot, even though I enjoy it.

And now we get to see how it will work with custom characters...IT'S LIKE TWO UNIVERSES TO EXPERIENCE!!!!
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahThere's just something wrong with the Foreign dressed character(worse in the NES version where he is the only Black guy on the continent) becoming the ruler of a World Power but ending up going crazy and becoming the badguy's slave(his skin even turns darker) because a very Aryan looking woman didn't love him.
At the end of the game , all of the female rulers end up failing and stepping down to give their kingdoms to Marth who becomes Emperor of the World.
Don't get me wrong I like the game and it was almost certainly totally unintentional but still.

If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahWell IS added some playable axe users in the game, in the original axe users were Demoted to Extra and gone entirely.
Here's a picture of the new axe user◊ and heres the new Big Bad whose identity is a bit of a spoiler◊.
Seems a new unit called Katarina◊ is the possible love interest for your custom unit◊.

Are they sure Katarina is a unit and not a conversation-only character?
It's a plot! ...Quite a well written one too.I heard she appeared briefly as a mage.
"There's just something wrong with the Foreign dressed character(worse in the NES version where he is the only Black guy on the continent)"
Foreign dressed? Okay. Only black guy... what? He's is white in all the games.
Just saying.
Well, since they are brining back support conversations, I'm willing to give this a try.
I just wonder how much of the plot I can follow without having played Shadow Dragon.
@RWB; Uh, could you re-upload those images?
Oh, and I'm looking forward to this as always, even if support conversations aren't confirmed. We could get the same kinda stuff we had in Shadow Dragon, after all :P
Sweet Custom characters. It should not be that hard to implement seeing what they did with class changes in the first game. Now here is a question, will the custom character have lord stat growths? Will they level like a lord, or will it be a regular class? I am definetly playing Merc/Hero, or Merc/Wyvern rider(as long as they make the wyvern look better this time).
You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans.I would love to play as a lord, but I would also like to play as your average Joe unit....So long as I get options in how my unit can fight I'll be happy though....Will I be able to start a sprawling support lesbian romances with my other units I wonder...PLEASE GOD MAY THERE BE A GAY OPTION

If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahHe's pretty dark in the nes version.◊ Though in all other appearances he's white but his skin turns darker when he's turned evil in the snes sequel◊. Anyway its just an weird interpretation and he's a cool character.

Given what franchise this is...
You know, I kinda wish they remade Fire Emblem Gaiden.
Also, Homosexuality? In a Nintendo title?

Yep, I'm still here. This game has Ricardo who goes beyond HoYay, he's single too.
And an important Plot point of the third game involves Fire Emblem Gaiden.

There was a gay option in one of the Harvest Moon games. It was removed from the US version.
Also...Heather from FE 10...I find it hard to not see her as gay...I mean damn.
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahA new Fire Emblem, my prayers have been answered.
If I have soemthing to complain about is... that they kept that art style for the portraits. I just don't like that look.
^ I cannot for the life of me imagine Heather as straight. One of her first line of dialogue is delight at how she'll find all the cute girls of the world.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Exactly! That's just...and she keeps doing things like that too!
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahIIRC the only reason she joins your team is because there's a certain pretty blue haired soldier on your side.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Nephenee?
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahYup, the very one.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.@asiacatdogblue: I already said that, and I doubt that Nintendo or whatever will ever do that...
Referring to the Gaiden, homosexuality already exists.

I don't see any Custom character romances with Marth and several other characters happening.
In the third game certain pairings are extremely integral to the plot.
A major part of the plot is the inability of people in power to keep it in their pants and lack of therapists causes another World War.
Plus Marth is already engaged in the beginning of the game and even cancels his wedding at the last minute to go on a mission.
