This is a thread for people who will not be or have not been on the site for a while, whether due to real life or to resist an internet addiction, the latter of which is encouraged within reason. Also, talk about the benefits/whatever of taking a day or a weekend off, or things to do when not online. TV Tropes ruining your life is nothing to be proud of.
Generally, expect the following from this thread:
- People announcing their departure or return.
- Moderators announcing a significant forum ban — not trolls or vandals, but someone people will notice and miss.
- Inquiries about an absent troper.
- Responses to inquiries about an absent troper.

I went through four and a half months of being unemployed this time around, after having to leave my job doing food service 9 hours a week. Before that, a full year of every rare interview not working out.
But woah, this thread isn't for economics, classicism, or hard luck olympics (which I know I'd lose, since I'm still well supported by my parents)
Fresh-eyed movie blogConscience, along with circumstances, once again no longer allows me to spend too much time here - and in any case, without the half dozen or so people that I am closest with, everything hurts anyway. All things considered, obligations take precedence, and therefore I shall again reduce my presence here for some time.

ᐅᖃᐅᓯᖅ ᐊᑕᐅᓯᖅ ᓈᒻᒪᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅOff for a while. Real life doesn't like me too much right now. I need to do something about it.
I know I said this already more than a few times, but starting tomorrow I will be leaving this site, as well as the whole concept of "using Internet for entertainment". I spend too much time in here, and I'd like my (as remote in time as possible) epitaph to say something more interesting than "Made a lot of posts on TV Tropes".

But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.Personally, I consider using internet forums to not be entertainment, but socializing. I rail against the idea that "outside" is "real life" but talking to friends via text isn't, so I use the term "meatspace" until someone gives me a word that isn't horrible.
The internet just makes everyone neighbors.
However, my views are not yours, and if you need time to be making something more of yourself, all the best.
Fresh-eyed movie blogI'll miss seeing you around, Carcio.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I've never felt the need to announce when I'm on here and not on here, and still don't. This post is pointless.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Aww.
I'm going to miss you Carc. You were an interesting dude and it's nice to see so informed about their religion and so kind when discussing it with others not of their faith.

I think I'm going to try to take another 6 months or so off the forums, not that it really matters, since I post so infrequently anyway.
If anyone outside of the usual crowd wants to contact me, #yackfest is probably the best place.
See ya.

For anyone who doesn't know already, Compassionate Sadist said in the Cuddlepile that she's taking a break from this site to focus more on her education.
I might take a break soon too. Not that anyone cares!
I was wondering why frisbees got bigger as they got closer then it hit me.
Man, I'd love to even have a job working registers again. Beats the heck out of getting turned down for job after job after job because they found someone better.
