I know Weisman and Vietti mentioned they really liked James Tynion IV's run on Detective Comics, so I was expecting them to reform Clayface ever since Robin saved him in "Triptych". He's not a Bat-Family member, but still.

Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Them and a few others.
Then again, the end of the Secret Six run made it clear that the Six are still a bunch of bad guys who are damned to go to hell.
Disgusted, but not surprisedSo what do you guys think will be this show's legacy in light of everything?
If nothing else the show introduced Kaldur, and though the comics have deviated a lot from the show it is still a notable achievement to introduce an adaptation-original Canon Foreigner legacy character and have them stick.
IF only comics Kaldur was half as good as the one from the show.

I mean, there's Harley Quinn, Renee Montoya and Livewire, all from the DCAU. Did that Superman TAS villain with all the neat light tricks ever get adapted into comics? He felt like one of the better new additions to that show.
Edit: Oh, Legacy Character. Missed that part.

Also, while Teen Titans gave Cheshire her mask first, the Young Justice one is the one that came to the comics.
Oh yeah, and they had The Light in the comics recently, but right away it feels like an inferior version.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Shame there's no hope for Season 5. I just want closure damn it!
Study Shows Young Justice Is Way More Popular Than the Average US TV Series
I feel like there was enough for six seasons, so two more to finish things off. They had to close out the Light's involvement and close out Apokolips. One season for each, call it a day, and end the show.
Qui odoratus est qui fecit. Two seasons to close out the show from Greg 'my stories never end' Weisman?
Yeah Greg pushed his luck when he got a renewal. As much as I like the new characters and plotlines he should have just focused season 3 and 4 on finishing up his lose threads and the Light vs Apokolips story when he still had the chance.
I don't think that's a type of story that can we wrapped up in a season or two, especially if Brandon and Greg treat Darkseid and all of Apokolips as an everlasting evil a la Kirby, rather than a video game boss like the New 52 did. The scope presented in "Evolution" gave me that vibe.
And it's not like we didn't get any closure at all. Beyond the seasonal plots, we had (as much as I personally detest that relationship) Conner and M'gann getting married, Artemis moving on from Wally's death and repairing her relationship with her sister, Zatanna finally getting her father back, Kaldur moving on from his Tula heartbreak and giving himself a break, etc. The YJ world might never "end", but several arcs either develop or end.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I feel like Greg should have just made a Justice League spin-off instead of directly bringing back Young Justice
Cause the storylines of the later seasons shows that he really is more interested in doing stuff with the DC universe as a whole over focusing on the original YJ team
The slow pacing doesn't help. YJ's stories are like those one-off episodes in Justice League Unlimited stretched out over multiple episodes.
There is also the issue that Greg doesn't believe in full resolutions. So chances are the whole stuff with the Light was never going to get resolved.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Pretty much my point. Combine that philosophy with the fact the main villains of the show are the Light and Darkseid, and basically it looks like the series is set up to never have a 'final showdown' or full resolution of the Light or Darkseid.
Yeah, I would’ve been more ok with Greg’s “neverending story” ethos if he concluded (or looked like he was going to conclude) the Light/Darkseid arc. As it is, it seems like a bad fit for a show with this kind of story structure.

Assuming there was an ending planned for that, it probably would place in the future. Not necessarily in the era of the Legion of Super Heroes since Lor-Zod doesn't seem know who Vandal Savage is and needs to travel to the past to make a deal with Darkseid, but definitely not in the current era.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Its like the comparison to JLU gets me. That show generally followed a single plotline for the most part and any diversions were single-affairs that didn't drag on too long. Made everything went by faster and they could do more stuff a result.
YJ though just drags everything. It be like taking the episode where Wonder Woman teams up with Hawk and Dove to stop the Ares armor and extending it into a multi-episode plot. Same with Black Canary, Green Arrow, and Wildcat in the super fight club or Booster Gold stopping the scientist from becoming a black hole.
Its notable that I've seen so many people complaining about how long the Zatanna arc lasted and that it could have been cut down to a couple episodes like 2.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Part of my issue with the Zatanna arc were the slideshow flashbacks that cumulatively took a whole episode. But I disliked the Atlantis arc more.
I did like s4 over s3- I feel the arc structure helped make things tighter and have a better focus on the characters. But it still felt at times like they wanted to stuff so much in that everything took a hit.
I did like Klarion's stuff in the zatanna arc. It was really interesting to see.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I think Young Justice shows that taking a creator that has traditionally been screwed by Executive Meddling and giving him free reign to do whatever he wants isn't necessarily a good idea. Greg at times seems more interested in sharing his headcanons about the DC universe and its lore than in moving the story forward. The fact that he seems to want to adapt every character doesn't help. The fourth season suffered from having a too big cast and it ends with the justice league deciding that it needs to expand and recruit more people. There's already a large amount of characters that are just kinda there, getting the occasional line or cool moment but not really doing anything meaningful to the story, like Wonder Girl, Spoiler, the people that joined Gar's team in season 3 and the new recruits that appear in season 4. Or characters that were originally important but then were reduced to just being there like Bart, Jaime, most of the runaways and Tim. And I get that not every character needs to be the focus and there's nothing wrong with having minor or background characters but why not do something with all of the existing young superheroes instead of adding more and more?
I'm torn about Razer's appearance because it was completely gratuitous and slowed down the plot in order to focus on the character development of a character from another show that many viewers probably weren't familiar with but also I'm a huge Green Lantern: The Animated Series fan and I literally squealed with joy when he showed up. But looking at it objectively he shouldn't have been there and if he was going to be there he should have been more relevant to the plot and not stolen the spotlight from Rocket.
I still love the show and think it's good and I really hope it gets more seasons but it has some big flaws that I doubt will be fixed.
Season 4's second half was great because it was focused; the house of Zod arc in the last six episodes was a perfect run of episodes; everything tied together, and it was exciting as well.
Weisman's talented but he does seem to be somewhat defensive if people take issue with his choices. And as mentioned some of his superfans don't help.
Do you mean the Secret Six?
