A Game of Gods: A Multiversal Challenge

The Doctor wakes up in the Common Room. While alone the blood is gone from his body and the Valeyard is no longer speaking in his mind. He just cries. Uncontrollably. "It's goneit's goneit'sgone... Now... how to make up with the others..."

He tries to connect with the TARDIS. While he can speak to her both are clueless on how to redeem himself. "My God, What Have I Done? I've let my guilt and ego reign..."

Rey grunted, running and getting between Link and Galen, letting the shadows dissipate, holding up a hand to either of them, shaking his head frantically.

"You.... killed....him...." he hissed.

He had taken the Doctor's blow, to little effect.

"You... you...."

The Master Sword dropped to the floor, as he sank down in tears, sobbing.

"Another...one... of my friends... dead.... and killed.... by you -"

"Who can I trust? WHO?"

"I..can't... trust...anyone...anyone... anymore...."

—Through the psychic link, the Time Lord can now hear the pain of his oldest companion, as if something was tearing methodically at her very existence from afar. —

The Doctor growls again. "That's IT! The Nomads want the Oncoming Storm... WELL LET THE STORM BLOW!"

-The Doctor tries to trace the source of pain.-

"No, you cannot. The Dark Side surrounds us."
I really need a What the Hell, Hero? now, to get things moving, since I want to get some sleep...

Raz walked over and put a hand on Link's shoulder. "Quit your bitching. Seriously, almost everything that comes out of your mouth is just this huge whine-fest."

"Do... do you feel no guilt? Do you feel nothing, Jedi?"

"You... this... you do not act for good, or your Light Side!"

"You are no Knight! You are merely... a killer..."

"Just a killer..."

He hung his head, unable to say anything more, what with the tears clouding his eyes and the emotion grabbing at his heart.

Rey looked to Link, then crouched, reaching out to try and pull the younger man into a hug, managing a weak whining sound as he did so.

Link numbly placed his head on Rey's shoulder, staring blankly ahead. His eyes were no longer the eyes of a teenager, but the eyes of a scared, lost child once more.

The person he really was on the inside, after all... a child.

He paid no heed to Raz.

"Could be worse" Kimimaro muttered to Langley. "At least no-one's spontaneously broken into song... And yes, I've seen it happen when sanity wears thin. It's not pretty... though it is catchy."

Even as Link broke away from Galen, a circle of light appeared around the Jedi, and shackles of light erupted from it to restrain and hold the errant force-wielder down. "Be chained by your own morality, Marek."

"What?" Galen tried to break free of Bolas's spell, but to no avail; he was firmly chained to the bus's floor.

Dr. Langley quirked an eyebrow at Kimimaro, decidedly not amused; she opened her mouth to say something, but at that moment the bus radio switched on of its own accord.

"Ah, there you are," the voice of Administrator Washington called from its speaker grille.

Ravage could do little more than release an inarticulate snarl of anger, and Dr. Langley let out a sigh before smacking her head against the center of the bus' yoke, causing the vehicle's horn to loose a deafeningly loud blare.

Rey jumped at the sudden noise from the speaker, then shouted at it. "You always were an asshole, Gorman!" He blinked, then nodded to himself and went back to comforting Link.

"Apologies, ma'am" Kimimaro said to Dr. Langley. "Just a coping mechanism to ensure that I don't snap, too." 'Though Tayuya did have a surprisingly wonderful mezzo-soprano voice...' he thought. 'Bit of a shame she made me swear never to mention that day again.'

And then Washington spoke up.

"...Damn it, it's the deluded cultist who somehow made administrator again..."

The Doctor connects to the TARDIS. He bites his lip. "You let her go. I will stay here for more games... Just don't hurt her."

Icarax stands up.

"Alright, let me voice my opinion".

Icarax began to charge a shadow blast.

"If we don't all calm down now i will blow us up, understand?"

"My name," the administrator said, his words tight from growing irritation, "is Tobias Washington...and if anything, young man, I am a patriot and a visionary. I must commend you for giving us the slip, Doctor; I don't know how you did it, but you certainly had us fooled for a long while there. Fortunately, one of my technicians stumbled upon an interesting tidbit; I don't understand the full details, but it appears that your draconian friend is emitting levels of an unidentified radiation—levels which intensify whenever he performs one of his...hmm, I'm almost tempted to say sorcerous...feats. This, combined with the sudden flare of an antigrav drive coming to an abrupt halt down in the boonies, painted a fairly clear picture of your location; remind me to thank your alien friend for inadvertently giving you away in this fashion. Now then, I've got preparations to make in order to receive our new guest, so I have no time to indulge you with a philosophical debate; I've sent the Damocles' gunners your coordinates, and they've locked you in."

—A moment passes, and then the interior lights of the TARDIS turn a menacing red and orange colouration, reaching out all the windows. The cloister bells rings for a second, then stops.—

"The cloister bell... YOU'VE DAMAGED MY UNIVERSE!?"

"..Ma'am... I believe we should... what was the expression... 'put the pedal to the metal'."

Icarax had charged his shadow blast to full strength, it was now swirling in the palm of his right hand; a dense mass of destructive dark energy ready to explode on command.

"One more whimper from any of you and we can all see each other back in the common room".

Bolas, hearing the Administrator, grew concerned. The Damocles was the skyship the Administrator had retreated to, if he was remembering correctly, and he bet that it was much more heavily armed than the Weatherlight. A shield sprang up around himself and the bus. "Doctor, I have erected a shield, but we can't repel firepower of that magnitude. Let us move as fast as possible, and think of superior ways to defend ourselves.
