To defend Killmonger—he's our only real look at the US perspective. Most of the other characters are from Wakanda, or are white. I suspect if there had been an alternative US-based point, there would be less stanning for Killmonger.

Granted I think he's a great character and a pretty good villain, and a lot of what makes him good is how he has the villainous role of speaking the truth, but also warping it beyond reasonable means.

But we also see that T'challa is affected by Killmonger, and takes steps to assure nothing like this happens again, not by isolating themselves further ,but by helping those at risk now.

[up] Right, there's a kernel of truth and reason in Killmonger, warped beyond anything resembling sanity.

And then the film offers T'Challa's final vision and Nakia who both take everything sane from Killmonger's points and turn it into a workable solution.

Killmonger wasn't 100% wrong. But he also certainly wasn't right.

Well, usually responding to someone with no new information is kind of... weird? And implies some sort of disagreement. Repeating the person's post without a clear "seconding this" or whatever, sounds like you're adding something new to the convo, but there's nothing new being added.

At least in forum based conversations, that's not exactly typical?

Well yes he was not wrong, he just did not at all go about his point the right way.

My annoyance more comes to the fact that their is always these idiots that will completely miss the point of a villain and try their damdest to Draco in Leather Pants them. Thanos being one such example as the guy was always meant to batshit insane, he's not completely wrong but he could of solved his issue via doing something that didn't require killing half of the known universe, like you know....making more resources for the universe. You'll still get edgy morons saying he did nothing wrong though.

If you want to say that he had some point, that's fine, but also acknowledge that his point was lost completely when he started killing people sadistically.

[up]I will said people flock to Killmonger because he is a edgelord and black one as that(really, most of edgelord are ether white or japanise by anime), so he have this very "cool people are douche" vibe out of him, specially since he manage to do A LOT. with him.

Just the fact that such businesses exist and are apparently profitable is already sad enough.

A sobering reminder that humans are social animals. People need people.

No kidding. There's a wiki article on this stuff.

Wikipedia's page on Rental family service

This sort of thing has been around since the 90's. The Rent a Friend itself was founded in 2009.

So, in the vein of Some More News, Michael Swaim's made a Spiritual Successor to After Hours in Off Hours.

Haven't watched it yet. Michael and Katie Willert are back, with two new people. Katy Stoll seems to help with behind the camera stuff. Production values seem much lower, but excited to give it a try.

Shame DOB didn't return, but he's writing for Last Week Tonight so I can't blame him (also shame there's no OCPD continuation).

And super shame that it's been up for two days and Youtube hasn't recommended it to me. Jesus. I have After Hours in my history and I watched Some More News yesterday. WTF, algorithm.

4 Insane Celebrity Injuries You Didn't Know Were Possible.

The article itself is all right, but the top comment is amazing, in my opinion.

Otto Schimmelpinninck, bassist for Dutch rock/metal band Delain, had his testicle ruptured by a confetti popper at the conclusion of a set (something they do all the time). He forgot to get out of the way because they had recently added a second guitarist to the band, so there was one more person on stage who wasn't as familiar with their production, leading Otto to leave his Little Ottos directly in the line of fire. Not *quite* celebrity status, but still pretty nuts.

All three sentences are just...just gold. [lol][tup]

New episode of the After Hours spiritual successor, "Off Hours".

While I didn't really care for the conversation (the conclusion is basically everything is in a sub-The Matrix), the performances were great and Cody was hilarious.

25 Insane Coincidences.

Granted, some of them were already featured in previous articles, but for the first time in a while it's at least somewhat interesting pictoplasty.

It's also a rehash of an earlier one.

The Tuesday photoplasty column was traditionally Auntie Meme's one, and when she left they turned it into a non-contest one. For the last few weeks, they've taken an old contest, remade the entries themselves, and posted it new.

Chrised, I never liked Dilbert comics in the first place but that creator has been falling down a massive rabbit hole for a while now.

I used to love the Dilbert comics. Shit, I even got an autographed copy of one of the strip collections.

Fortunately, my enthusiasm for the strip waned soon enough so that I wasn't too upset when I found out Scott Adams was an asshole.

I also used to love them. A while ago I happened to read some strips from a more recent collection, and I did sense a bit of a change in tone. Once upon a time, Wally was portrayed, if not exactly positively, at least neutrally, as a man having an understandable reaction to an absurd world and making it work for him. The more recent comics seem more to be saying "Get to work, you lazy bum!"
