Yes! This is delicious!
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.Mexican Don Té is the best thing ever. However, most of the second video left me disgusted.
So, aside from making it too cinematic, way too dark and edgy, and fairly easy (really, that Virgil fight looked like a cakewalk compared to Virgil 2 and especially Virgil 3); did DmC turn out to be as horrid as it was shaping up to be?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!It didn't? Care to explain what they did right?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Like we've been saying, the gameplay itself looks decent-ish (if not overly simplified and a step down from what we've come to know and love about DMC). The biggest qualms about the game were how the reboot came to be (and the lack of a need for one), its direction, and the generally disrespectful attitude from the developers towards what should've been their target audience.
I can definitely tell you where they screwed up the most, though: the lack of a lock-on button. They could've easily avoided the need for memorizing Mortal Kombat/Ninja Gaiden/God of War-style commands if they simply did what every other game in the series did.

Exactly. It's not a bad game in and of itself, it just shouldn't have been a DMC game.
That's pretty much what I suspected from the trailers. Even from those videos, I'd probably consider getting the game if wasn't comparing itself to games far greater than it could ever be. Oh well. I'll see what I can do about getting the first four games and see if Capcom decides to be smart and make a DMC5.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! You mean the first three games, right? DMC 2 doesn't exist.

I was honestly surprised how badly DMC 2 sucked. I didn't think it could regress that much.
Playing as Lucia still brings forth a modicum of enjoyment though.
Gameplay wise, probably.
But DMC 2's story is just lame instead of... I don't know, there's no one adjective to describe the Dm C story. "Contains subject matter that completely puts me off of the chance of ever playing it"... Maybe just stick with "Insulting".
What disappointed me about that Virgil fight in DmC is that I could very easily track Virgil and could tell what he was doing. There was also way more than enough time to react to him. Even towards the end of the fight, it didn't seem that difficult.
I also don't know what they did with the DT but, whatever it was, I don't like it.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Whoever wrote DmC's story needs to be sent into space. Without a spacesuit. Or a spaceship, for that matter.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle. They decided to make it a glorified smart bomb. And also have it just make his Jacket Red and Hair White instead of turning him into a demon for no apparent reason.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...I've always loved the Devil Trigger. It's always been a smarter power-up than others that are charged in similar ways.
Agreed. Except on the easiest difficulties, the DT isn't a guaranteed victory and instead seems more like a tool to help you even the odds when facing multiple and/or powerful opponents. You really have to put a bit of thought in as to when you use it and when you don't. The DT really just added another layer of strategy to DMC3 and 4 (when playing as Dante).
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Even moreso with the Weapon buffs in 3. Shame 4 couldn't really fit them in thanks to the new Weapon System.

Quick, somebody travel back in time, pitch this to NT, and spare us Dm C.
