Pretty much, part of my frustration is that I have only been watching Doom Lore/History videos and speculation videos.
There is no reason I should be getting these braindead clickbait youtubers recommended to me but thats Youtube these days for ya.
And I am just really tired of politics.
Anything remotely political on the internet has become impossible to result in a polite conversation, with people assuming the complete worst of those that disagree and others trying to fuel the outrage if it exists. This is especially apparent on social media like Twitter, you're either an intellectual messiah or an idiot that deserves every ad hominem thrown at you.
Anyways, I don't want this to veer too off-topic, so this will be my last post about that.

Same for me, I just wanna enjoy the new game when it comes out.
As if he needed another reason to kill demons.
Suddenly, his Heroic Mime status makes a lot of sense.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Apologies for the double-post, but does anyone play DOOM '16 on the Xbox One? I wouldn't mind having a couple of friends to do some multiplayer and SnapMap slaying with...

Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...This is the most hilarious shit you'll have seen all day.
Ah, yes. An instant classic.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Canon, and no one's telling me otherwise.
"If you're out here why do I miss you so much?"I know this is old!Doom, but can I just take a moment to say that this guy is awesome?
At this point, I wouldn't care if it's old!Doom. If it's Doom-related, it's good enough for this thread.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Random question, but is a "Mancubus" a genuine mythical figure? They're my favorite Doom demon and I've always wondered that. They sound at least related to the Succubus and Incubus; I recall seeing some Doom fansites that say a Mancubus is the result of a Succubus and Incubus having a child with each other instead of a human, but that's obviously not a real scholarly source.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."No it is not. If it is I can find no sources on it.
Speaking of the Mancubus, does anyone else not like their design for eternal? I know it looks more like the original game but I actually preferred the alien, cycloptian look in the last game, plus I doubt the new look will even be explained.
One possible explanation could be that the new Mancubuses (Mancubi?) were made from demonically-altered humans, while the ones in the previous game are "purebloods."
But, yeah, the new design does seem a bit weird compared to the last game.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...I wonder, was the UAC inspired by Weyland-Yutani?
Yes.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireThe game was originally meant to be a tie-in for Aliens, but id couldn't get the rights, so they repurposed the original idea for an Aliens game into what we know as our favourite demon-slaying simulator.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Maybe it's my fanboy speaking but I just wanted to liven up discussion here but...
Okay so Hugo said they're building a DOOM universe. Tropers here who are fans of Doom or play it or give a hoot about lore/codex, what do you all hope to see, to explore, to learn about? The gameplay is fun but I feel so invested in the universe, I wanna learn everything they have to offer.
I would love to learn everything about Argent D'Nur, for example. Maybe a bit about Doom Slayer himself, but still leave things open to interpretation. And with them stating there will be post-release singleplayer DLC, it makes me giddy!
Seeing that Zombie Doom Slayer skin, I hope there's a Phobos skin you can use. Phobos is like a black Doomguy. And I fkn' love orange color

I'm intrigued as well. Like, I want to know what Argent D'Nur was like, what the structure of the Night Sentinels was like, what sort of Magitek they had, as well as whatever possible alliances they had with other worlds during the war against Hell.
Oh, and I seriously would like a real good look at the UAC military. I have a good feeling there's at least a few platoons still putting up a fight.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Hell yeah mang. The magitek aspect is really cool too (still wondering wtf is that machine for in Argent Breach map).
Since the game is slated to receive post-launch singleplayer DLC, I wouldn't mind a prequel DLC focusing on Night Sentinels. Play as a rookie sentinel, do stuff, slay shit... and witness the downfall of Argent D'Nur. I mean I hope the base game will have a lot to learn about but a DLC specifically focused on Night Sentinels in distant past would be fricken' awesome. That tech sword Night Sentinels would be put to good use and I hope they have some cool guns of their own.
I also wouldn't mind DLC in which you play as one of the demons assaulting D'Nur. Perspective flip and all that. Geez the potential for varied DL Cs is great... they could tell stories of many. I wouldn't mind playing as an Action Survivor UAC employee who is the complete opposite of The Doom Slayer (and it's you surviving/hiding from demons)
Edit: also I believe DOOM Eternal's release date will be on 30th September this year. Why? It's also same day DOOM II released on back in 1994
Edit again: oh yeah I forgot but here's a video by Civvie 11

Double post but you peeps remember that old Doom movie from 2005? The one that had Karl Urban and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in it?
Well there's a new DOOM movie coming out, titled DOOM Annihilation. Unlike the 2005 film, this one has explicit mentions and depiction of hell and demons.

...what do you all think? It's not even a big budget title either.
No, it's more likely that the gaming "communities" are getting more obsessed with the politics more than the actual games.
