Even then, it's not the ptitle it should be. I vote cut Sobbin' Women.
Fight smart, not fair. The Sobbin' Women page is by far the better page, though. A better description, more examples, a discussion page, it went through YKTTW, and a Laconic.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.We'd have to move it anyway to Sobbin' Women wouldn't we? Just harvest everything on Sobbin' Women and move it over to Abduction Is Love.
Fight smart, not fair.So Sobbin' Women has everything better then save the title so why don't we just do a trope transplant? We can replace everything on Abduction Is Love save the non duplicated examples.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickOr, in simpler terms, merge?
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.... it took me this long to figure out that Sobbin' Women is a pun on "Sabine Women". And I'm a student of Roman culture.
Merge.
I didn't get it until you said that. I'm not a student of Roman culture, but I'm familiar with The Rape of the Sabine Women.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Tell ya 'bout them Sobbin' Women, who lived in the Roman Days... (C'mon, everybody sing!)
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The vibe I'm getting from the trope descriptions is that Sobbin' Women deals with premeditated abductions specifically intended as part of a long-term plan that leads to marriage while Abduction Is Love leans more toward spontaneous crimes of passion with no clear end strategy. However, it's a subtle and possibly unnecessary distinction that the examples on Abduction Is Love don't seem to bear out.
For what it's worth, the main reason I got the reference on Sobbin' Women is probably because I have seen Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, or at least the trope-naming song.
Submitted a custom title request even though I hope this gets changed.

SPATULA, Supporters of Page Altering To Urgently Lead to Amelioration (supports not going through TRS for tweaks and minor improvements.)I agree that this should be merged.
Any objections to merging?
I say go for it - looks pretty-much unanimous
For merge. Prefer Abduction Is Love or a new name.
Fight smart, not fair.It seems to me like there is consensus support for merging the two tropes so I made a page action crowner here for choosing what name the merged trope should use. There was an old crowner about merging the two tropes, but since it was not hooked to this thread and since it seems like there is enough support for a merge, I think it would be a better idea to start anew. If there is support for returning to the old crowner, we could do that though.

Calling this. Do the merge.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickSobbin' Women is now a redirect for Abduction Is Love, Abduction Is Love's description was replaced with that of Sobbin' Women, the unique examples were moved, and the wicks that could be fixed were fixed. Sobbin' Women's laconic page is also on the cutlist.
However, I am a bit unsure about what to do with Sobbin' Women's discussion page and Abduction Is Love's current description. I am not clear on what do with discussion pages in the event of a merge and I wonder if Abduction Is Love's new description should be made more gender-neutral. I would appreciate some help with those issues and I think it might be worth it to check my work for the merge in general as well.

Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
That's pretty much it, really. If there's anything distinguishing this trope from Abduction Is Love, I'd like to hear it. Even assuming there is some incredibly subtle differentiation that I'm missing, Sobbin' Women at the very least needs a new name so that this distinction is a bit more clear. I've made a crowner.
Incidentally, this title technically violates the rule of "not named after a work", as Sobbin' Women is the name of the short story on which Seven Brides For Seven Brothers is based, though I somewhat doubt anyone's itching to make a page for it.
See you in the discussion pages.
