Phineas And Ferb.

I'm surprised I haven't heard much from other Tropers about this- it's a delightfully Genre Savvy show. With catchy music, Crazy-Prepared Girl Scouts, and a secret agent platypus.

It's funny, I was thinking the same thing.

Well, gives us a good chance to start on it tongue

There definitely seem to be fans of it 'round these parts, given the occasional quoting of it I see, and some page pictures from it.

It's definitely got its posse 'round here; I just don't think they're forumites.

I love that the show is so self-aware. It knows everything happening is absurd and formulaic, and revels in it.

Inspired by this thread, I looked at some clips on youtube. It looked OK enough - except for the songs, which were better than that. :) I have had Perry The Platypus' theme song in my head all day...

I frequently find myself getting the Quirky Work Song stuck in my head. Not that I mind, since it's so cheery.

Oddly, the Perry The Platypus Song is only OK for me. Compared to some of the other songs, at least.

Heh, I get the work song stuck in my head also (at work no less). Makes the work go faster in a pleasant way.

Since I haven't watched the show "for real", just checked some episodes on youtube, and there seems to be one song an episode when it gets into gear, I have not heard most songs.smile

I love this show. It is definitly one of the best show on Disney Channel, and it's just a delight to watch. I agree, the songs are the best, I'm glad to hear it's getting an album. Everything is so wack, and the characters are great. Definitly one of my favorites.

I like how the two boys aren't mean or snarky or obnoxious, even to Candace. In some episodes they even help her. They're just cheerfully confident and don't care who knows about their schemes. It's also hilarious that Linda and Charlene are friends.

I like it because it's very creative, and as others have said, it's Genre Savvy. The characters act their age. Other than building elaborate machines, they are very much 11-year-olds. I hope it doesn't get Screwed by the Network like Dave The Barbarian did.

Given that the only bit of Executive Meddling I'm aware of is the song-for-every-episode thing, and they're apparently getting a third season, things look good for now.

Dear god, I love this show! Same reasons as all the others listed on this page, so I won't go into that.

I usually don't admit it in public unless in company of another fan due to it being a Disney cartoon.

And the "song-an-episode" thing made me reflect on Executive Meddling in a somewhat positive way

So far, Phineas & Ferb has been one of the only shows on the new Disney Channel that I've actually been taking a liking to. It's basically primetime programming like The Simpsons or Family Guy, only without all of the raunchy stuff.

Supposedly the next new episode involves time travel back to "Rollercoaster".

I love this show. It's the best animated show currently on and the best animated series Disney has had since Kim Possible.

It is made by a couple of FG alumni in part to prove it was the timing and humor that made it a hit, not Mc Farlane's raunch.

I do love everything about it. I even YT'd a couple of the songs in Japanese.grin

Honestly, this show reminds me of Elite Beat Agents. It's completely over-the-top, has some of the catchiest songs I've ever heard, and takes some of the most cliched and/or crazy ideas and somehow makes them work.

Well, the recent time travel episode was very much Timey-Wimey Ball. I'm not sure how much of it happened anymore...

Also, I recently found this song... strangely overlooked given how catchy I found it.
