Lorraine lay sprawled out on a bed, gazing up at the ceiling.
"We should really be going." She halfheartedly muttered. An electronic voice boomed over the PA, "Countdown to frame launch, ten minutes."
"We should be."
A gentle hand ran through her hair. Lorraine had always been surprised at how gentle Jarit's touch was, especially for someone so loud during combat, and during other times too. Lorraine sighed, and then Jarit sighed. The two had near-identical sighs, which would inevitably confuse people, especially when one took into consideration how dissimilar they normally were. "We should be..." Jarit repeated again.
"Yeah."
"I'll see you on the launching deck, then."
The two exchanged a quick kiss, and headed off to make last minute preparations.
Lorraine nestled into the cockpit of her frame. Switching on the various diagnostic, functional, and combat systems. And finally, switching on the radio, just in time to hear orders waft through it.
"Delorean Regiment, you are cleared to launch at will. Report in when launching."
She heard her squadmates call out their frame names and callsigns.
a heavy clearing of the throat sounded,
"Blade Brandishing and Voice of Honour, launching."
the faint noise of combat goggles being adjusted.
"Dialect and Akhastic, launching."
a thick, British accent.
"Empress and Chariot, launching."
a half-psychotic chuckle
"Boom Headshot and Grimm the Reaper, launching."
Finally, she pulled back the launch lever.
"Lady la Blanc and Purifying Flame, launching.
The battle was already well underway, indeed, nearly over. They'd been sent out as reinforcements it seemed. Jarit's voice came over the regiment-band radio.
"Alright ladies and gents. This'll be simple enough. Yer targets are the Federation frames. Once you find yer targets, line up the shot, and kick some ass." A short cackle of static followed, then silence.
"Right, line up the shot." Lorraine mumbled to herself. Should be easy enough, though she worried her stark white frame made too easy a target. Too late for that kind of consideration now. Not like she hadn't been in battles before, anyway. So what did it matter? She directed her frame's shoulder-mounted sniper cannon towards an incoming enemy, and blasted through its torso.
She smirked, at this rate, the battle would be over in mere minutes. She turned her attention to her frame's optical screens. Empress and Dialect were both winning the fights they were in, Boomer was taking on three enemies by himself, and somehow still winning. But where was Jarit?
She maneuvered her frame about, trying to find her regiment leader. She flicked on the radio; "Lady la Blanc to Blade Brandishing. What's your status?" The only thing that answered her was the hiss of empty airwaves.
"Blade Brandishing, come in, Blade Brandishing...." Panic began to creep into Lorraine's voice. "Jarit? Jarit, come in, Jarit. Jarit? Jarit?! Finally something crackled over the radio, the sound of a pained scream distorted through a radio breaking up, followed by the sound of an explosion, and then....silence.
Dead silence.
It couldn't be....Lorraine was trembling, shaking....she spoke through the radio again. "Lady la Blanc to Blade Brandishing....Lady...La...." Fuck formalities. "Jarit! JARIT!"
She sat there, keeping the frequency open. She finally heard someone's voice crackle through, but it was Johnathan's. "Lorraine....I'm sorry."
She didn't respond, only sitting there. In stunned silence.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....-Sniff- :(
Where did everyone go.
WHERE ARE YOU PEOPLE.
I'm all alone....
;_;
Sorry Spain :(. I was here.◊ *
Then here.◊ *
Also here.◊ *
And let's not forget here.◊ *
And then finishing the night off on this note.◊ *
Not shown: Me riding around on the back of a giant white wolf spirit, one-shotting a camp full of humanoids trying to pervert his power to their own uses. Eat your heart out, Sen.
Gonna get started on those MA character sketches now.

What matters in this life is much more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too. - F. Rogers.Hey, everybody.
Locking you up on radar since '09Wryte:
I've been trying to do more productive things than posting on forums all day. Not particularly successful.
Tell me about it :P
But that italicized stuff was me quoting Spain, not professing my own loneliness.
What matters in this life is much more than winning for ourselves. What really matters is helping others win, too. - F. Rogers.Oh, Hydrall! Wherever you are...
You should write a fic about Dor! :D
Opinions on the fic, everynan?
Satinel: Good sniff or bad sniff?
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Sad sniff. :(
Oh.
Mission....accomplished?
I hope everyone read that fic, because otherwise, Lorraine donning her old, white outfit and reverting to her old callsign later on will make even less sense.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Ah, it was well-written.
I've really got to write my story about Gerry, though - can't let the Cents bloody our noses too much, after all!
Locking you up on radar since '09Thanks. :)
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....I NEED to turn off spoilers.
My other signature is a Gundam. Why, did you see that and not want to? :P
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Been busy. Still tired and still working through daily crapiness [For the record; Everything in the long term is set fairly well but in the short term I am still dealing with the crappiness of last month].
This game basically has top priority of my internet stuff, but even I can't be in the discussion thread at all times.

Aw.
Hug, Faux?
Yeah, I don't expect everyone to be here all the time, I just like jabbering to myself when I'm alone. You guys don't need to justify your not being here. It's cool.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....I like being here at all times!
...I just can't always swing it. Internet activity seems to inverse to my free-time, when I'm stuck on with nothing to do, I am hitting refreshing hoping something will happen.
Except when I am sick and I'd like it to run on it's own, in which case even my temporary absence sends the whole thing to the ground.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....
Anyway! How is everyone?
Also, are we really stuck with nothing to do indefinitely? [Not to blame Lock. Being sick sucks.]

I thought he was at work?
Poor lock.
Oh hey, there he is.
Do we have all the Cents here? We could start the mission.

I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....I could ambush the Castellan if you want.
By the way, I've been working on building everyone's mechs in Armored Core For Answer. I only wish I could give them to computers to see how well they do...
Ha!
I'm almost done with my fanfic. Not sure if I can really even call it that, since I wrote the original character too....
Anyway, either Tear Jerker or pure Narm.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....
