Some writing.

I am pretty much my true self here, with some added silliness. I like to think I am a fairly friendly person in Real Life.

Certainly true for me. I'm getting better though. I no longer take them all as subtle insults; now I just don't believe them.

I don't attract girls. At least they rarely tell me. And by the time they do, it doesn't matter. The few I know I've attracted...well, I don't know them well enough to know what it was about me that attracted them, nor do I know how they were.

On true selves: what you see here is basically how I am everywhere. Of course, there are slight differences, but my personas tend to change following events, rather than who I'm around, so I might wear the same mask for weeks before it goes away. There's also the anti-GIFT so I do wangst more here, but not a whole lot more.

I've also more or less given up trying to live with my "ideal self". I'm coming to acknowledge the various aspects of myself, since most people seem to like them well enough as is. I could probably use some change. Like, I wouldn't mind if I was never depressed again. I often wonder, though. I've long defined myself more or less by my depression. In losing it, would I become empty? Would there be anything left? That's why I hesitate to use medicine and would rather work it out.

Also, Tzetze, if you start wangsting again, and I'm around, I will try to help you through it. I really don't think it's healthy or useful to just tell you to get over it. Maybe it works for some people, but I'm not convinced of this.

I don't, because I am lazy. In fact, when I get tired, I often feel too lazy to bother capitalizing or adding much punctuation.

But I so like it when people shorten my name. It's the attention whore part of me. "Nickname? They must love me!"

I nickname as a matter of friendliness.

I confess that when I have a logical argument with someone, in my head, it plays out as a swordfight. Every point and every premise is a blow dealt, and every counterpoint is a parry or a riposte. Pointing out fallacies in the opponent's logic is like taunting them by tapping at an undefended section rather than a true attack. You can win by crushing them with a multitude of valid arguments, or by pointing out one single, crippling truth that shuts down the opponent's argument completely.

I'm a very swordy person.

I'm not sure that it's that I don't believe them. At least, I don't think they're lying to me. I just don't think they're right.

As to shortening names, I'm fine with it. I actually use the shorten version of one of my usernames more than the username itself. :P

I like my shortened nicknames! I didn't realize how long my real one would actually be when I made it. And in real life my name is shortened too. It's Becky, which you've probably already seen.

I'm basically to nicknames what a Phrase Catcher is to catch phrases. The Name Nicker? I've got at least a dozen from my coworkers alone, though only two or three are used on a regular basis.

Oh, Real Life names are different, I shorten those.

Okay... that reminds me of an actual confession.

There was this girl that I was friends with, Will They or Won't They? kinda thing, and uh, due to a convoluted series of events I started calling her "Muffin" occasionally. I honestly didn't get the implications there, even though most people assumed that I did.

Odd confession: Whenever I hear puberty mentioned as a "weird time" I feel a bit odd because for me it wasn't. Then I start to wonder what I missed out on, or did I miss anything at all, maybe I experienced those things and either can't remember or didn't think they were weird. It makes me feel out of the loop.

For me it wasn't weird so much as aggravating.
