If only I could remember the plots for most of the books, it would be easier to list what books I haven't read. I loved this series to bits. (One of the ones I never could find was the ant one, which was annoying because they referenced it in like every damn book after it.)

Sadly, at this point I think I only own the Ellimist Chronicles, and it's back at my parents' place in Canada.

Hell yeah. I stopped reading around book 43 or so; always wished I finished them.

I think the only one I'm missing is the Ellimist chronicles. Or possibly the Andalite chronicles. One of the chronicles. Other than that, I've got the entire series sitting in my room.

I read about 35 books or so, mostly out of order except for the last 10. The first one I read was the one where marco does the weird Polar bear/poodle morph.

I've probably read about two thirds of the whole series, but a lot of those were library loans. Everytime I see a charity shop or a second hand bookshop I go in to see if I can find any. I didn't get into the series until I was about thirteen, and I've never tried to read it in order, which has caused some confusion and a lot of spoilers... but I love the books all the same.

My little brother had them. I used to read his, and really liked them. They're really good for kids' books, as they don't talk down to their audience while at the same time still being understandable to them. Seriously, more kids' entertainment needs to be like this.

And I agree with what the early posters said, it was a great deconstruction of teen heroes. It took itself seriously and didn't make fighting evil look fun, even though the stories were still really fun. At the time, though, I hadn't even read "teen superhero" stories, so I didn't know that there was anything to deconstruct. But "kid heroes" (these guys were in middle school, so they were kinda between kids and teens) in general are very simple by comparison. Both their adventures and the mood surrounding them. Animorphs ramped things up and raised my expectations perhaps a little too high.

I love this series! Sadly, my local library doesn't seem to have many of them, but I could probably find the series in order... never actually did read it in order, but I did read the final book... depressing, but good.

The only book I read was the one with South Park Shout-Out in the begging. Can't remember the title.

But when is there gonna be a movie?

This series is what made me stop thinking of reading as a chore that adults made me do. I'm in college now and I still reread my favorites from time to time. In particular all of the Chronicles books (including Visser) are pure awesome.

The TV series was such a massive disappointment. I did get some Animorphs transformers out of it though.

Oddly, the only Animorphs book I'm missing is #2.

The one that establishes Rachel as a gymnast, her (prior) friendship with Chapman's daughter, and Chapman's status as a cooperative host (so long as his daughter isn't touched). It's rather annoying looking at the bookshelf, seeing all of the books together with that gap between 1 and 3.

Gotta admit though... David had all the sympathy with me until he thought of going to the yeerks to make a deal. Up until that point, I was on his side. And regardless of his ultimate fate, I don't think it was harsh enough...

I remember reading the Visitor as my favourite animorphs book, but I thought Animorphs did some nice Deconstruction Fleet of modern day Kid Hero routine, as well as some nice Fetish Fuel for early 'Furries' people... My personal favourite was when Cassie had the Bird-morph Angel pose for a few minutes (with arms for wings) before she turned back to normal. that would rawk! waii

Unfortunately heard of the series too late. Stop giving me cravings for dead series with Gainax endings!

Also, I have a metaphorical list of stuff that I think was alright but could have been better that I will not do a horrible attempt at rewriting and this is on it.

I read up to #28 before my mom got fed up with buying the books and cut me off. Even so, it's still my absolute favorite series ever; I've even got most of my collection sitting not a foot away from me.

Anybody got a book on hand? Look at the third transition on the cover - isn't it hilarious? I'm looking at #16's cover right now,, with Jake hunched over, growing a huge nose and lips, and ever-so-suggestively saying "Come on baby, gimme a kiss."

At any rate, I hope to finish the series someday...even though I kind of know bits and pieces of the ending already. Or, alternatively, does anyone know a site where I can read the rest?

I know there are sites where you can download the whole thing in PDF, but I'm not sure where off the top of my head. A google search would probably do it, as will most bit torrent sites.

I loved, loved, LOVED these books when I was a kid. Absolutely over the top obsessed with them. By #30 or so I kind of lost interest though, and eventually stopped reading the series. Years later I picked up the last one at a used book store and thumbed through it to see how it ended. I was unamused :(

My favorite book was probably the one where they go to the expy of Area-51 ... #14 I think it was. I don't even remember that much about it except that it was awesome and the cover has Cassie turning into a horse. Actually I think all the ones with Cassie were my favorites. #4 with the Dolphin and Ax's introduction, and that one where she quits the animorphs and makes friends with the runaway Yeerk and has to turn into a butterfly ... yes. So much awesome.

My favorite books were the David saga, the one immediately after it - where Tobias finds out he's Elfangor's son - and the first Tobias book, where he has the nervous breakdown.

I see a necro who's not getting yelled at. Good job! We need more non-yelled-at-necros.

I didn't like the last book of the series. I really liked the supplementary material: Visser, The Chronicles, Megamorphs, etc.

This site should have every book available to download for free. By totally legal means.

So far, my favorite book is the one where Cassie quits, though the David trilogy and the one with the Howlers also rank highly for me.

I guess the writing was okay, but the covers...*oh the horror!!!* The girl-to-squid one used to creep me out as a kid. surprised Sure, some covers were kind of neat (like the dog and cheetah ones), but others were just plain scary, especially with the animals with the large eyes (ex. squid, ant, etc.).

I've been slowly re-reading them on my nook... I just finished book 31. I remember reading these as a kid... and I don't know how I wasn't scarred for life D: Dear lord. But I like it so far. :) No particular favorite out of the kids though, it really depends on whose POV it's in. :/ Like Rachel and Cassie get on my nerves if it not one of their books.

The best parts of the series was whenever Visser Three went One-Winged Angel on the team. Acidic tar monsters, eight-headed firebreathing dragons, biological stealth bombers, a purple thing with drills for arms...

Really? I always thought Visser 3's morphs were pretty stupid. Of course, Visser 3 was also the main contributor to the Animorphs' sucess.

It's not actually clear whether killing him back in book 8 would have helped or hurt the Yeerks.
