Sometimes it seems that way, yes.
Damn, now I can't find a way to fit Kuroshitsuji in this post. Oh wait, I just did, AHA!
But, back to the topic, Eyeshield21 has some realistic, quite subtle Ho Yay between Hiruma, Musashi, and Kurita. It's more close, close friendship than anything else, but still. I'll admit, the chapter when Musashi came back made me Squee.
For some reason I enjoy extremely close friendships between men/boys (see Killua and Gon) just as much as Ho Yay, and definitely more than the "fanservicey" type of Ho Yay. It's a bit like the difference between something like, say, shark fin soup and a fish burger from Mc Donalds. Not to say that a fish burger from Mc Donalds isn't delicious, IT IS.

And I just started watching Eyeshield21, oddly enough.

Heaven doesn't want me, and Hell's afraid I'll take over.Watching? Did you just say... watching?
-shudders-
Erm... it's probably not my place... but... I highly recommend that you read the manga instead of watch the anime. (If only just for Hiruma.) But of course in the end it's your choice. I say this as an avid fan of Eyeshield 21... the anime simply does not... do it justice.
Then again, bear in mind that I'm a manga person and that I almost universally prefer manga to anime (unless it's an Anime First series) so... I might be biased.
I am heavily prejudiced against Sports Manga. They tend to really suck at the realism department. Gretzky Has the Ball and all...
'''YOU SEE THIS DOG I'M PETTING? THAT WAS COURAGE WOLF.Cute, isn't he?Well, Eyeshield21 at least has the basic rules down right? Hiruma's epicness more than makes up for any inaccuracies, I find. Go give it a try.

Usually I'd agree with Raw Power, but...yeah.
I had a bad time with Princeof Tennis, so I didn't know sports maga could be good.
And I said "watch" because I don't have money to buy the manga, whereas I can get the anime for free legally.
Heaven doesn't want me, and Hell's afraid I'll take over.Ahhhh I see. That makes sense, yes. I actually rented the whole series back home where there are manga rental stores, and it was pretty cheap. Converted into USD, which I assume people are more familiar with... less than a quarter per tankoubon. <3
And haha, Prince Of Tennis. I was actually more bothered by the ugly art than anything else. It was like... okay... these people are supposed to be bishonen... WHAT ON EARTH IS UP WITH THEIR FACES? W-what is this I don't even-
And then the story started getting boring and the main character started becoming a Mary Sue and yeah.
Then again I'm not really into any kind of sports (dance and martial arts excluded), so I don't tend to be bothered by inaccuracies in terms of sport rules. As long as the story and the characters are entertaining, it's fine with me.
Princess Tutu has some nice Ho Yay, at least in the first half.
'''YOU SEE THIS DOG I'M PETTING? THAT WAS COURAGE WOLF.Cute, isn't he?Sasuke/Naruto has always been one of my favorites in this regard.
There's also much of this in Pandora Hearts, like Gilbert/Oz and Vincent/Gilbert.
And Zero Seven Ghost has Mikage/Teito.

"If there's a hole, it's a man's job to thrust into it!" — Ryoma Nagare, New Getter RoboOf all series, Vinland Saga has started to go this way in recent chapters. Really!
I just really had to post that somewhere, i cracked up reading it.

I actually thought it was freaking adorable, so.
Axis Powers Hetalia. Loads and loads of Ho Yay Ship Tease.
Nabari No Ou has much heartwarming subtext between Miharu and Yoite, though Yoite was born ntersexed. However, he is referred to as male in anime and manga and comes to see himself as a male at his death.

You mean Kuroshitsuji, of course.
