I think that was erased in the New 52.
Another thing I realized is that DC has two Japanese superheroes who share their monikers with villains that were re-worked into being more reprehensible. You have Kimiyo Hoshi the Japanese and female Dr Light and you have Hiro Okamura who shares the Toyman name with the guy who murdered Cat Grant's son.
The Dr Light thing is so weird because, as Linkara stated, he wasn't that much of a pushover before this retcon. In an issue written prior to Identity Crisis he once took control of one of Kyle Rayner's constructs to use against him. This was not a guy that needed to be retconned into a rapist to be seen as more threatening. Hell, if they had to feature rape in a story why not use Deathstroke? He actually did have a history of doing it and was already a Memetic Molester from the Teen Titans cartoon.
Or Starfire and his friends treating it like he'd deliberately cheated on Kory.
I've come across a lot of people who dislike Donna Troy for no reason other than she was paired with this guy.

On a lighter note it feels like Cassandra has been getting a lot more appearances in adaptations as of late. She’s in the newest season of Young Justice, is the central macguffin of the upcoming Birds of Prey movie. And is apparently going to be in Gotham (which given what they’vedone To Bane I’m pretty skeptical about)
