This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

This is the unprovoked truth and on my own accord, I will follow the rules and meet the criteria for editing and modifying. I will not cause problems, and I will take full, unambiguous responsibility for my actions. Please forgive me and give me another chance to better myself and do things the correct way. I would like to prove myself that I can change and not cause trouble for others as I have done lately.

Hi, I've been suspended recently, but for reasons I don't know. Maybe it's because I used Zero Content Example tropes or put trivia tropes in the wrong places. Whatever the reason was, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience I caused. I fully acknowledge that this was a mistake on my part, and I genuinely did not intend to violate the guidelines of the site. I now understand that Zero Content Examples provide insufficient information and fail to contribute to the overall quality of the site. I realize that they lack the necessary context and details to make them meaningful and helpful for other users. Moving forward, I will be more diligent in providing comprehensive and informative examples that adhere to the guidelines. I genuinely value the community and the purpose of TV Tropes, and I am committed to making better contributions in the future. I will be more cautious and thorough in my editing, ensuring that I provide sufficient context and details for each example I add. I will also make it a point to familiarize myself with the guidelines more effectively to prevent any unintentional violations in the future. Hello, I've been suspended recently (yesterday, I suppose) and I'm not sure about the reasons. I'm still a beginner here, and I need to learn a lot. Will my suspension last long? What should I do not to be suspended again? I'm sorry, I just hope I dind't cause any damage or issue with the pages I edited or created and if I did, I just want to declare there was no intention behind it. As I said, I'm still learning. I think I've been banned again because I removed some mentions of Reddit off of some NRLEP tropes. I was (falsely) under the impression that Reddit (when not an in-character subreddit) = Real Life and thought that was covered by NRLEP. I'm sorry for my poor edit reasons and I will not contest if the edits are reverted.

Could I ask for a list of every single one of the things I did wrong so I can address and apologise for all of them in one post? I feel like me saying something and then you replying with another thing I did wrong that I didn't know about is a really inefficient way of doing things.
Okay, so I made a personal attack when I commented on the author of that MHA fanfic the way I did. I did not consider that a violation of any rules because the author of said fanfic elected to join the discussion about his fanfic in a public forum. I also have a thump back in November when I was talking in the Netflix Devil May Cry thread to FKJ 10. One comment I made in that discussion was also interpreted as talking about the poster instead of the argument, but the line between those two was thin enough that I honestly did not see myself as having done so. I'm not going to pretend the thump I got during the Fighteer debacle doesn't have anything to do with this either.
So, I'm sorry regardless. Doing a better job at recognizing when I should just leave a debate if I cannot better word my response to keep from addressing a person is the way I should operate going forward. Nothing else I said or could do is going to get be back to using this website other than admitting that, and it's up to you to determine if I should be allowed back period.

I've reached a consensus with this matter, I'll drop the subject on justifying Opaline Arcana as Stupid Evil on the page in any way, shape, or form. Even though she really is the embodiment of it due to the atrocious writing and lack of continuity that plagues the entirety of Make Your Mark from beginning to end where the material is undecisive of whether it is or isn't a sequel to Friendship is Magic due to how many fundamental rules of how the world and magic systems of FiM works, that is completely broken within the setting of MYM.

In my defense, while I do admit to being uncivil in the Star Wars and Sonic threads back in January, I truly did not think I was this time with regards to the Devil May Cry thread and the The Devil Fruit Hero review. I tried as carefully as I could to address the argument without implying there was anything personal in those responses.
The Fighteer/Kory issue was a very heated one I admit, one that caused me to leave the website for a while because I understood there was nothing to be done but admit that's the way things are and questioning the staff gets no one anywhere.
In the end I understand these are just words with a now shaken foundation behind them. If you don't let me back, it's fine. If you do, and I mess up again, I'll just show myself the door without wasting your time posting here.

Septimus Heap I've acknowledged that in my prior messages, I wasn't aware in time that there was a consensus. I apologize for my ignorance. I didn't know at all that there was an ATT thread on discussing the season name. I was primarily expecting a response to my PM, that's what everyone else did whenever I talked about editing pages and we always had some kind of agreement or compromise.
It was an honest mistake that I won't repeat. I just want the chance to edit again and do it cleanly like I have the past few years. I haven't caused trouble before and I won't cause trouble again. I'll properly use the Ask the Tropers, Page Discussions and the forums next time if private messaging someone doesn't work out.

~Septimus Heap. I have realized that I have gone too far when it comes to talking about E3, even though I didn't intend to. I understand that complaining like so isn't good for the forum. I know that's why I'm thumped. I was upset that nobody seemed to take it seriously.

I honestly care less about posting to the RL cleanup thread, which hasn't been fun in months, so much as I miss being able to work on TRS wick cleaning, which has been a way more meaningful and enjoyable way of helping the wiki. Ban me from the RL cleanup thread if you must, I would just like my editing powers back so I can help with wick cleaning again. Thank you.
That said, I suspect my most recent suspension (and probably my last one too) was caused by one single other user with a chip on their shoulder against me because we disagree on many issues, and I don't think it's fair to ban me just because this one user is mad at me. Would there be any way to set up some sort of conflict resolution between the two of us?

I'm pretty sure I did address the commas and Fridge Brilliance link earlier in my appeal, but to summarize, I honestly don't see the problem with adding in Oxford commas (it's just proper grammar), and the Fridge Brilliance link for Pikmin 4… yeah, I'll concede that that was unnecessary; I couldn’t think of a better trope to link to there.
What ZCEs did I uncomment on the Gen VI Pokémon character page? It's been so long ago that I don't remember.

Hi, I've been suspended from editing after a small edit war on the Starfield YMMV page.
Although I attempted to put the matter on the discussion page, I failed to do so until after making the same edit three times. As such I completely understand that the action was taken far too late to be meaningful.
I would like to appeal to be able to edit (or more importantly in this case, access discussions in good faith) once again.
