This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

@TropesofTV: We will not be restoring your YKTTW privileges unless you can demonstrate a better understanding of tropes. As for your general wiki privileges, I'm really not too excited. I get this feeling that you aren't quite in tune with us yet.
Here is the deal. We will release your wiki suspension on the condition that you make no edits without first posting them in this thread and getting advice. If we judge you competent, you can edit freely. Disregard this, and you'll be permanently banned. Is this acceptable?

I just noriced I can't edit, can I ask what is the exact reason? And sorry for the trouble.
Two questions.
1. Is it possible to be unbanned from lost and found but not from actual editing so for example. I want to find a trope that describes a situation where someone assumes they're supposed to be punished in a way much more severe then the actual punishment. I can ask. But if I find that trope for example it's called "Jumping on the sword" and have an example {say from red dwarf series X episode 6 where an subordinate has a sword slid to them and uses it for hara kari only to discover his punishment was to polish the sword and write an apology letter} I couldn't post that in the tropes section for not having editing priviledges for that section
Edit: thats not the only trope. I want to be able to hop on occasionally if somethings stuck in my head and also i posted like 5 diffrent questions which i can't check on because i get an edit banned screen instead.
2. If my punishment did come that I was banned from all but lost and found. And I found an example not listed for a trope could I submit it in the lost and found?
Second Edit: Or a better example is. I just found Win Win Ending covers something i'm looking for. But they don't have an example I.E. In the end of Shock Treatment. Brad and Janet are reunited and in love again and escape, The two characters who were suspicious of the villain are together and escape, Oscar Drill and the Bits Escape and presumably start their band outside Denton. But Farley Flavors {the Villain} controls the city. His Henchmen continue to be successful, Janets parents are now celebrities, and the entire town is happy being under Farley's control. So everybody wins. Yet it's not up under the Win Win ending.

Deadbeatloser 22: that was also the most likely explanation, I could think on. So I have to go to the translation thread every time, I want to add an example? Not that I am i a hurry. Actually, I only noticed the suspension, when a discussion page came up in my watchlist, and I wanted to see what it was about.
But perhaps it would be better, if I focused on making and translating pages into danish, my natural language. Only the front page got a translation so far, so there are plenty to work with.
English is an international language, but it doesn't mean that everyone speak it on a daily basis.
You also did a bit of Page Blanking, and that's what got you banned.

Re V Phantom: Don't blank the page or reduce it to a one liner ... don't change the page in any way before cutlisting it. Cutlisting is the whole job. Furthermore, if the page is supposed to be a redirect, it should have the redirect markup in it. Some of the ones you have been cutlisting for redirection have not had that markup.

@ Ironeye Geh, I was afraid of that :( If it is so bad that it causes trouble for others then maybe it is better if I give up on edits. If there is something I really need to add then maybe I just post it in that topic you pointed me to and hopefully someone will make the edit. I'm guessing it's impossible to block someone from editing tropes without blocking them from lost and found too. It's all or nothing right?
This thread isn't for listing examples of edits you can't make because you were banned. We're not here to do a bunch of work for you because you got banned.

Hey, I sent you an email a few days ago, and I haven't gotten a response yet, so I figured I'd just go ahead and post here.
I'm pretty sure I know why I was suspended, and I don't plan on denying it; if I'm not mistaken, you suspended me for repeatedly adding the Karma Houdini and What The Hell, Hero? tropes to this page: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS3E13MagicalMysteryCure
Up until the suspension, I assumed the trope examples had been removed by another normal troper, such as myself. I believe the episode in question does, in fact, contain these tropes, and wish to appeal my case.
You were indeed suspended because of that. Let me give you a few of the problems:
- The example is a Zero Context Example. It does not explain why, how, or even if the trope is present. We're trying really hard to get rid of this.
- It is misuse of Karma Houdini and What the Hell, Hero?. What the Hell, Hero? is strictly in-universe, with someone calling out a character on their actions. It is never about us, the audience, feeling that way. Karma Houdini is about villains doing terrible things and never getting their comeuppance, not just complaining about how an action we feel was wrong was treated insufficiently by the narrative.
- The example was removed by no less than five people, one of them (Deadbeatloser 22 a moderator. You kept re-adding it despite of that. That is called Edit Warring, and it indicates you are not willing to work with others. The wiki is a collaborative process, so one does not simply enforce his opinion when there is a disagreement. We have discussion pages to sort these things out.
- The episode hadn't even aired at the time. Why in the world Edit War over speculation?
In order:
- 1: At first, I did add context. After a removal or two, I was sufficiently frustrated to avoid re-typing everything I had just typed, and in retrospect, that was wrong of me.
- 2: Okay, I was wrong about What The Hell, Hero?, and was unaware that Karma Houdini only applied to villains. Again, my mistake.
- 3: As far as I am aware, I had no way of knowing that five different people had been responsible for the edit removal. That being said, I will remember to use the discussion pages in the future.
- 4: What can I say? I take my ponies very seriously. However, I will refrain from editing that page until the episode has aired.
If that's everything, would it be alright if my suspension was lifted?
Most wikis, TV Tropes included, have a history function. After all, that's how I know who made what changes where. The history button is right next to the edit button, and you're expected to use it and see what the issue is in these cases.
I will lift the suspension on promises to do better.

I was suspended sometime yesterday. I would like to request an explanation for the reasons so I may avoid similar mistakes in the future.
Edit warring; more specifically deleting the "The One With" lines on the pages for various James Bond films, which have been specifically approved by the admin.

In that case, I will avoid changing or removing such entires in the future.
