This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

~Edgelord Edge: That's an improvement on the objectivity/neutrality front. However, it now runs into a different issue: Wall of Text. We don't want to make our readers wade through huge paragraphs when the gist of the trope — in this case, the work ending with lots of things unresolved — can be summed up in a couple of sentences. Can you try again with a more concisely-written entry?
~Johndoe-m9: The discussion tab is located to the right of the "edit page" tab. You can start a new discussion by scrolling all the way down to the bottom and clicking on the button that says "Start New Discussion". Again, you can also use Ask The Tropers, private messages, or Trope Talk if you don't want to use the discussion page, but you must do so politely.
And to be frank, at this point, we're not so concerned about whether or not you or the other troper was more justified in their deletions. We don't know the minutiae of Bleach and One Piece troping. We are concerned that you tried to ram your edit through by redoing it instead of trying to properly communicate with them or getting consensus from the community. Do you understand this?
~Statzkeen: What the Edit War policy says is that actions undertaken to make pages fall under wiki policy don't count as edit warring. That includes moving misplaced objective tropes from YMMV to Main/, but it also includes adding context, removing natter, etcetera. And you are correct that the laconic wiki has its own accuracy problems. However, what we wanted you to understand was that you have to communicate with the troper through our various avenues (the discussion pages, Ask The Tropers, private messaging, the fora) to discuss all this instead of forcing your edit through a second time. Is that clear?
~Mitzo: Right. Don't forget that you have to announce a launch at least 24 hours in advance even if you do adopt it. Got that?
If there's anything I can do that will help lift my suspension, please let me know. Although, I hope you won't make me say I was wrong about the stuff I wrote about Zazu, because it's simply how I feel. I promise never to add it again, though.

Okay. The reason I removed "ditzy" from "girly girls" is because I find it very offensive when people consider stupidity a "feminine" trait. As for the b*stiality thing, the reason I removed that is because I don't think relationships with talking animals should count as b*stiality. If you think it does, you are welcome to that opinion but I disagree. The reason we are against b*stiality is because non-sapient animals can't consent, not because we're not the same species. Fantastic Racism anyone? Anyway, no one bats an eye with Belle and the Beast or Donkey and Dragon, so why should it be the same with Adam and Ingrid? Anyway, YMMV so I probably should have done some explaining before my edits.

~tvtropesruinedmylife22: When I responded to your inquiry via the contact form, I had not yet looked back through your history. It does sometimes take a bit of research to jog one's memory for a five-year old case.
With that in mind, it was decided at the time that you would not be unsuspended. You seem to have no interest in contributing useful content to this site. All you want to do is goof around. That plus the harassing PMs and Hollers (and lately, not even knowing where to appeal) is plenty of indication that removing your suspension is pointless.
You can accept this, or you can be blocked completely. Your choice.

I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm not trying to argue. And I don't want to be blocked or anything. But I still don't see there being a huge problem with giving me another chance. Other people here have gotten third chances. I know I messed up twice in a very short span of time, and again, I'm sorry about that. But I've learned from my mistakes this time, and promise you that if you were to release my suspension—-and I'm not talking about now or even soon, but at some point in the indefinite future—-I wouldn't make any more. Can you at least think about it?

~Scarlet Dragon: Regardless of whether you used an edit reason or not, you can not go on an editing spree to get rid of anything you found offensive. TV Tropes isn’t for Righting Great Wrongs.
If you find something on the wiki to be offensive in some way, it’s best to bring the up at Ask The Tropers or the forums.

Hello! I'm looking to get my suspension released. It's been some time since I initially posted in this forum, and I apologize, so if any info is wrong, lmk.
I believe I was suspended for removing a large portion of some pages, specifically fanfic recs, without consulting with someone first. I apologize for that; it's been some time since those edits were made, so I can't exactly recall my thought process, but I'll be sure it doesn't happen again.

The other thing is that you have to pay attention to your Text-Formatting Rules. You were sent notifiers about quote formatting that you did not respond to.

Actually, we would like to get into your thought process regarding those deletions. TV Tropes is not for Righting Great Wrongs — whatever biases or preferences you might have, you cannot just take it out on the wiki. If something does offend you, seek consensus either through Ask The Tropers or the forums to see if it would be a warranted removal. Don't just go around removing large swathes of things without agreement from other people because you don't like them.
Related to this, when removing trope examples, you should use edit reasons -- they go a long way towards preventing conflict.
In addition, you also have to address the creation of stubby work pages and subpages without a single trope — for example, Literature.Acedia and Characters.Left Shoe Saga The Cantios. Both are now cut, so to refresh your memory, the former had a single sentence about how it was a WIP of yours; the latter had a couple of folders without a single properly formatted trope with context (one folder even had "test text"). This is not allowed. Please see How to Create a Work's Page for how to do it right.

So, I'm here to "appeal" my case in regards to the Edit War I found myself doing. My reasoning is... I was too lazy to constantly consult the History page of my Sandboxes before doing my edit. Additionally, I actually only now discovered the Following page, which could've averted this jam I have found myself in.
I'm not excusing my behavior. It's my own fault for not checking when a page has been modified. I must be more diligent in future so I don't end up here again.

I am writing this to say that I would really like to be unsuspended so I can continue to edit in tvtrope without showing my improvements in English grammar, because despite my hard work and knowledge in media tropes, I am not good at this grammar thing because it's confusing whenever I write something related to the past or present events ,one of the staff members in tvtrope site still showed me the flaws that I didn't realize and the grammar checkers add-on in my browser are not helping because they show different results. But I want to edit in tvtrope because I want to show them the tropes I find from various media I watched or read. So whether if I have proper grammar or not, I would like to be unsuspended.
If I am unsuspended then I will not only continue to edit in tvtrope but I will improve my grammar in the Get Help With English Here.
So please, give me another chance, end my suspension immediately and let me continue to edit in tvtrope while at the same time make my grammar better in the Get Help With English Here thread.
