RE: Discar and RE:Kayeka

Its funny because even in Majora's Mask you could kill Deku Scrubs. The distinction between sentient race and monster is small, as many monsters do have friendly NP Cs and several friendly races have generic enemies. Human races in general do seem to be unkillable though, outside of those poor Hylian guards.

Speaking of which, The Legend of Zelda encyclopedia actually answered the difference between a monster and a demon. It says monsters are natural races, animals, plants or even objects corrupted/in service of demons, Demons are established as mostly major antagonists like Ghirahim, Demise, or Bellum.

I'm also playing Cadence of Hyrule. I have no idea what l'm doing, but I'm having fun and enjoying the music, so that's okay.

Thrilled to hear a remix of the Lost Woods theme from LTTP. I adore that theme. Glad a new game's picked it up!

Anybody got a link to a video of Cadnce of Hyrule's Easter Egg where you can find Ganondorf playing his organ?

He's just in the house in Gerudo Village, after you wake up his guardswoman.

Unicorns are such a common staple I'm surprised they haven't really been seen in a Zelda game.

The only involvement with Unicorns in Zelda has been the 1989 cartoon episode "Sing For The Unicorns".

Oh boy, trying to get up the tower in Central Hyrule and I REALLY can't fight those guardians yet. I managed to sneak past them, but they're still sniping me when I climbed. I tried to use the stasis effect, but I can't find any part of it that's supposed to be able to be stasised.

And guys, all that stuff is great suggestions, but I am literally at the start of the game. I can't fight stone taluses yet, everything tougher than the bokoblins is kind of annihilating me. (I've been mostly exploring the Dueling Peaks area before tackling anything else.)

I did manage to fight stone talus right at start of the game <_< Involved lot of climing and hitting da weak spot iirc

Yeah, Stone Talus is basically a shadow of the colossus fight. Just, with weapon degradation.

Early on, I tried to fight Stone Talus by sniping at their weak stops repeatedly. And then, when that took like 2 hours and four deaths, I just avoided them for the longest time, until I eventually realized that climbing them and whacking the weak spot with a sledgehammer was faster and easier.

As for the Central Tower: the idea is that you're supposed to sneak your way up that tower. But don't feel too bad if you can't do it- Central Hyrule is the endgame area, which is why it's crawling with Guardians. It's totally reasonable to just avoid that section of the map until you're seeing more confident.

That just makes me want to do it more, right now. Because I NEED TO FILL IN THE MAP. But I only have four hearts right now. I kind of thought that since I was able to do the shrine near that stable that that I was still in one of the beginner areas.

Well, if you are that determined to take out Guardians, then technically the only thing you need (minor spoiler)is a shield. Any shield. Doesn't really matter how good or bad. Use the shield to reflect their beams right back at them, and they'll go down in two hits.

Of course, this requires you to get the timing down, which means a lot of death by learning.

I've just beaten all guardians by whacking them with lots of weapons <_<

I kinda consider that shield parry thing to be a gameplay spoiler rather than a hint since no way you would know to do that until game tells you can do so

The ability you get after Death Mountain gives you a bit of a buffer to figure the timing out, too.

I'm not sure anything in the game will tell you to do that. I never used it because I never knew about it.

I believe a character does explain deflecting shots to you, but I don't think you're ever told that this can apply to explosive death rays.

[up]I'm pretty sure that it's explained using an explosive death ray, actually.

Either that, or during the advanced combat tutorial in Kakariko Village.

GUYS! I found a hidden area in Cadence of Hyrule!

I was in Gerudo Village and had just gotten the Power Glove, so I was messing around with those movable blocks. The wall on the west side of the village looked low enough to hop on to, so I tried it and sure enough! I hadn't realized that was supposed to be the west edge of the map. But there was a house on the other side. I went in and talked to the NPC inside, and he said, "I AM ERROR." Then he clarified that his name was Error Houlihan! I about died laughing.

Also, he gave me free boots.

If the overworld is randomized, I'm not sure how you'd find this area reliably. But, man, what a cool surprise!

The Link's Awakening remake is being developed by Grezzo, while BOTW2 is being developed by Aonuma's team

I'm guessing they've had all hands on deck for BOTW2 for a while now, then.

Sounds like about the same reason Mario Galaxy 2 was made.

I wonder how heavily the map is going to be changed. Will we get more underground areas? Expanded borders? Will we finally be able to climb the mountain that was inexplicably unclimbable in the original game despite it having a name?
