Your Secret's Safe With Me, Superman has a long, clunky name that is almost totally unconnected to the trope - it has nothing to do with secrets, Superman, superheroes, or secret identities, and is just an oblique reference to a line that itself isn't a particularly good example (which outright links Entry Pimp right there in the article!) Unsurprisingly, it has failed as a name; it only seems to appear on two work pages, despite a lot more on its own page, showing that nobody is remembering its name or mentally associating it with the trope.

I think that it's a great name, I immediately got it without reading the trope. One of our funnier titles. Against.

^Still, if our goal is to have people use it as much as possible, I could live with that name. Question is, is this situation that common that it needs a name that can easily be potholed.

I immediately thought of something like Spider-Man's unmasking in Spider Man 2, so rename or change the description and examples.

Yes, I need to watch Adam West Batman moar. -_-

Half-Life: Dual Nature, a crossover story of reasonably sized proportions.

Yeah, this made me think of the train scene in Spiderman 2. I still don't get how it fits the actual trope or what the actual trope is.

Actor Delusion makes me think of an actor who confuses himself for the character he's played on TV, such as Adam West on Fairly Oddparents, or Adam West as Timothy North on Kim Possible. The current trope name is also really bad. I thought it was a trope related to Secret-Keeper. For a trope about fans confusing actors for the character they play, how about Mistaken For Character?

Rename. I think Actor Delusion is hilarious, but Wacky Meets Practical makes a good point that it could be misunderstood.

I think it's fine, though of the proposed alternatives Mistaken For Character is the best so far.

I see that this thread has died despite it being in need of a rename. So are we going to do something about this or not?

I'd argue for something from Galaxy Quest. Lemme imdb it for quote-mining purposes...

EDIT: Nvm, "But You Are Spock" works fine for me.

[up] Implication there is that the actor is the deluded one.

Rhymes with "Protracted."

I like But You Are Spock. Its probably the most famous example of this with Leonard Nemoy coming out with 2 books on it I Am Not Spock and I Am Spock.

Thirded (or Fourthed, I can't tell) 'But You Are Spock!'.

We already seem to have a consensus on the change happening, will we need a multi prop rename or will Rhyme Beat accept 'But You Are Spock'?

Fine. But You Are Spock is still much better than the current title. We just need a mod to approve it.

I like Your Secret's Safe With Me, Superman, but if we must rename how about: Idol Delusion, You Think Therefore I Am, Actor Cosplay, or Fan Delusion?
