Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

XII took six years. The Versus XIII concept years don't count - full production of XV took about four years.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.Or three years.
Well, it WAS true that the Saturn's architecture made it notoriously difficult to make games for. Look at the earlier versions of Shenmue.
Pretty much. Even he probably wouldn't handle the sheer mass of Final Fantasy VII; which was INCREDIBLY ambitious for its time.

That ambition definitely paid off, although trying to maintain that level of extravagance over every title might have caused the gear-stalling we're seeing now.

Who is the most evil character that isn't a Big Bad?
One good candidate is Professor HOOOOOOOOJOOOOOOOOOOO.
...hmmm.
Unfortunately, I don't know of many other villains from the other games to say.
The ones I do know are either being manipulated or the Actual Big Bad.
Also, getting back on my talk on Amano's art and how his version of Faris is more believable as a woman pretending to be a man, I found this piece of art (along with a video since that's the only place I've seen it) that contests that:
See, I can buy this Faris passing herself off as a man.
...the pants probably help.
One Strip! One Strip! That aesthetic is way to Tales for Final Fantasy.
One thing I wish the Final Fantasy series had is more female Big Bad characters.
Jhil Nabaat is up there and so is Seymour.
Maester Mika, Adel, Verstael (basicly the same as Hojo tho)
Song of the SirensWhat about Argath?
Argath is pretty despicable and certainly a very real kind of evil to boot.
Ludovich Baert from the same game is a pedophiliac, rapist crime lord who burned a whole village of mages down so he could have a pair of them in his private army, so he's up there.
Right, so who was the Big Bad of Tactics again?
Feudalism.
x4 That was Barrington.
Yunalesca is up there in evil.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.Possibly the Lucavi. Their leader is the final boss, anyway.
Song of the SirensIsn't her name Ultima?
Is she? The game made it seem like she was just another pawn in the cycle.

Nah, she's the leader of the Lucavi. XII even states in lore she tried a rebellion before.

Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...To be fair, that game also believes that Ajora was female. It might not be the most accurate resource.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.
Taking a full decade to develop a Final Fantasy game? Pah, even Square wouldn't do something that silly.
