Followed Pages/Threads Improvements & Changes

In a future update I want to make the followed threads and followed pages better and offer the user more functionality. I’ve listed the current ideas I’ve found from the wishlist, please let me know below what other improvements to these two pages can be made.

Followed Threads:

• Mark all as read button
• Auto follow newly created threads
• Filter out locked
• Filter threads by forum
• Add pagination. Wish
• Add “all” filter to see all created threads
• Fix forum search to search first by title and for phrases VS single terms
• no results message

Followed Pages:

• Follow related pages w/ updates. Wish
• add sort to related pages. Wish
• Add unread badges. Wish
• Fix pagination showing up with no results
• Fix image view button
• no results message.

I'd like if starting a Trope Repair Shop or Image Pickin' thread for a page automatically put a notice on the watchlist of anyone following it. This would help keep users informed of discussion about the page. Wish

It'd be nice if adding a video to a trope you're following created a notice on your watchlist. Wish

Searching the wishlist for 'watchlist' and sorting open queries by popularity, the top two requests are for a unified notifications page/combined watchlist: [1] [2]

to all three, especially the first — though I'm biased as a TRS regular.

Maybe we can have a drop down filter that groups threads by their respective subforum?

Well it’s just broken right? Since the functionality is already there I’m sure the bugs won’t be hard to work out.

The Followed Pages has an Image View button, which is broken and directs to Browse Tropes. There may have been a filter at Browse Tropes to list pages you follow, but I see no practical use of image view in the followed list and it should probably be removed.

I'd be interested in the ability to add tags to followed pages (a follow inside a follow?). I'd like to note and filter pages that are "made by me", "has an interesting ongoing discussion", "common spot of a ban-evader", "has a rule violation fixed and is watched for possible Edit War", "needs cleanup assistance". I follow a lot of pages and threads, but they require different levels of attention, and the To-Do list isn't useful for this.

Something similar would also be nice for forum threads.

Speaking of, for Followed Pages how about a "has a To-Do note" icon with a quick link to it?

Speaking of sorting/filtering, I'd like to request something similar for "Followed Pages". This way, I can sort by namespace (Creator/, Main/, Music/, Film/, etc) or page type (Work, Index, Creator, Useful Notes/, etc). That way, the "Followed Pages" doesn't become a mess to navigate.

Probably won't be working on this for a while. We've got continued maintenance on the Visual Editor, TLP updates, more Editing Improvements and the What Needs Work Tool. Also need to push live all the preview/image upload/emoji buttons, revamp to Troper Pages and resurrecting the badge shop which i've already completed but have been sitting in review for months due to other projects taking priority.
