Needs Help: A Chat With Satan

This is another no-permission DA pic, and it's another one that doesn't really get across the spirit of the trope. It's a bit too Literal-Minded (it need not be a literal devil), and I'm pretty sure A Chat with Satan requires there to be another party involved, as such this looks more like Heel Realization or even just a Mirror Reveal.

How about Jesus being tempted by Satan in the desert, like this image by Gustave Doré [1]? It remains literal, but at least illustrates the trope.

It's one of my favorites too! I also agree that we could bring more diversity with a more different image. Also vote on pulling it, as it doesn't illustrate the trope.

My favorite Bible verse actually. But I agree with Synch that it's best to avoid duplication there.

the trope isn't about literal conversations with the devil, it is apparently about the hero being tempted by the villain (who can or not be the devil) to see their dark desires. I wonder if the trope might need a rename.

I think the current on Incorruptible Pure Pureness (or something along the line, such as 3) would work better here. The image shows the temptation (this trope), and is much more subtle about the part where Jesus resists said temptation.

The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.

I don’t think any of the suggestions are doing it for me. I think I’d like dialogue about the hero to not make it look like any time Satan talks to a character.

Although it's not the best image possible, I would at least say that the Robot Devil suggestion fits a Literal-Minded interpretation of the trope name better than Current, which doesn't look like a "chat" at all.
