Right, the reason it's even become a meme is because the parody message is "but you live in society". I don't know who added it, but I feel like whoever did really missed the point.

I have a BUPKIS feeling about this since the trope consists of multiple parts that are already hard to illustrate individually without wall of quotes. Or a combination of an image, caption and an analytical note.

To be fair they could be an Android user. The phone manufacturer would probably still use Chinese slave labor so they’d actually be a hypocrite.

The point of the comic is that it's not hypocritical to complain about aspects of society that we don't really have a choice but to partake in. Phones and computers are too ubiquitous and necessary nowadays to just not have one, for example.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness The "hypocrisy" (in quotation marks because the whole joke of the strip is that the person pointing it out is just an annoying strawman rather than making any valid points) comes because they're using an iPhone, though that strikes me more as Guilt by Association to me.
Not an Android user, the strip specifically identifies it as an iPhone on panel 2.
