No argument here.
Found a version with better colors◊ and cropped it:
That works with me w/ original caption.
Clock is set.
(Annoyed grunt)
to the image crop.
Quick bump before the timer goes off
I'd prefer the full cover linked in post 3; the crop looks sloppy because you can see part of the Batman logo.
Keet cleanupOK then. Crowner hooked, shutting off clock.
I'd say this doesn't look "harsher in hindsight", but more like a shout-out to an old conspiracy theory.
The DC wiki confirms that the Paul Is Dead conspiracy is from 1966, whereas this Batman issue is from 1970. So no, that's not this trope.
That's the point. They were referencing the "Paul is Dead" conspiracy theory, but then the image's significance took a turn when Lennon was assassinated later.
That does make more sense.
Honestly, how is this not "person dies" territory, according to the Hindsight thread?

I'd like to apologize for all this."A work makes a joke about someone in a group dying and then someone different in said group dies shockingly" is a couple of steps above "actor plays a character who dies then dies IRL", IMO.

Votes bump, two in the green, one in consensus eange.
I'm sure, but this is not "a work making a joke". This is "a work referencing a fictional death from a real group". Inevitably, somebody from that real group would have died at some point.
Calling for 3; it's in and tagged. Keep the old caption?
It doesn't work without it, though I'd prefer something better.
I'd like to apologize for all this.I want to make a The White Zombie Album joke, but I don't think that would fit the theme of the pic very well.
"Is it Paul or John?"
or, "We suspected Paul but it turned out to be John".

Second one's better.
I'd like to apologize for all this.21.2 is fine. It's added and tagged; locking up.
Crown Description:
Now that "Funny Aneurysm" Moment is merged with Harsher in Hindsight, this is something I'd like to get some consensus on. This is the image on the former's Comic Books subpage. Is there a consensus to move it to the subpage on the latter's?
