We Wake Up Magical Girls (Maid the RPG system)

"Ebenezer Vilus..." Someone facepalms. "E.V.I.L. This is the kinda world we've been summoned into, is it?" They sigh. "What might be more sneaky is if we pretended to be students? Would that work in this context?"

The two MARION look at each other, then nod. "Well, yes, that would probably work." admits one of the MARION.

The other MARION pipes up "We were thinking you could try to claim to be poor, lost circus performers."

Samuel

"How subtle," Samuel muttered upon hearing the name of this school. "I second that person's idea of disguising as students. Do we have any sort of way to disguise ourselves?"

One of the MARION says "The princess and her companions maintained stockpiles of makeup supplies, and the ship has a functional, if power-limited fabrication center."

Samuel

"Right, right."

...

"...mind telling us where either of those things are?"

"The Princess and her companions kept their makeup in their quarters. You can request items to be fabricated and delivered to the galley." One of the MARION explains.

"Great!" says the other MARION. "Are we forgetting anything?"

The Aqua-Taine responds by sounding an alarm.

The two MARION turn to look at a screen that is currently flashing "ENEMIES APPROACHING."

"Oh, right...."

"There was one fighter...."

"That didn't get destroyed."

The two MARION adjust controls. The screen changes from flashing a message to showing a close up of the other side of the clearing. The last remaining fighter, a dart shaped craft with strubby projections on the front, lands at the other side of the clearing. The top of the craft rises and three humanoid robots, painted red except for their glowing silver eyes, climb out of the fighter.

Samuel's eyes widened, and he muttered "Oh fuck" as the robots climbed out of the fighter jets, their intent clear. I should've just stayed in bed...

"Right," he said, turning to the MARIONs. "You're the experts. What do we do?"

"We fight them, right?" someone says. "With the gun, and the... magick, and stuff."

The two MARION look at each other in confusion.

"The Aqua-Taine can't fly right now,we're on limited power and it would take too long to power up the engines."

"We can't call for help; we'd have to drop the stealth system and that would let the Stygian Drones report our location. Also, the Princess's standing orders were that this was to be a secret operation."

"As for fighting...."

"We're MARION (Magical Artificially-Rendered Intelligence and Operational Nexus), not MILES (Magically Initiated Logic for Embattled Situations)! We're actively programmed not to use offensive weapons!"

The second MARION chimes in with "This situation is SERIOUSLY VOIDING our WARRANTY!!!"

In unison: "WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!"

"... Y'all, when I said we fight them, I meant we," someone says, pointing to themself and Samuel by way of clarification. "Obviously you're not fighters."

"Oh..." "Yes..." "Well, obviously..."

The two MARION begin trying to hurry you off the bridge. "Good luck!" they say in unison.

Samuel

"W-Wait, wait!" Samuel panic-flailed his hands as he was pushed off the bridge. "How do we do that?! How do we do the magic-stuff?! Could really use a guide here! Or, like, a tutorial!"

He hated how flat-flooted this whole situation had caught him; normally, he was as cool as a cucumber. It was just...all this was a bit much. With any luck, things would slow down soon.

Samuel tries to resist the two MARION pushing.

Samuel's Athletics [3] x Dice [2] = 6

MARION 1 [2] x Dice [1] + MARION 2 [2] x Dice [3] = 8 [2 + 6]

Samuel finds himself shoved out the Aqua-Taine, holding a crystaline rod topped with pink streamers and the words 'My First Magick Wand' stamped on the side.

"I NOTICE YOU DID NOT ACTUALLY TELL ME WHAT TO DO!" Samuel yelled—

Aaaaaand they were gone. Wonderful.

Samuel sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose with his free hand. "Well. Guess we're winging it."

We're going to die.

"CAN WE GET LITERALLY ANY GUIDANCE" someone shouts at the MARIONs.

The two MARION turn to shove... someone... out the airlock.

They pause at the question.

"What part of..."

"We don't know what to do..."

"Did we not enunciate?"

"To prevent potential AI Upraisings, all self-aware automata..."

"including but not limited to golems, artificial intelligence, neural constructs, and artificial genius locii..."

"of the Avalonian Alliance have very hard-coded limits against..."

"beings able to engage in active combat..."

"even theoretically!"

"Unfotunately, Stygian empire automata..."

"such as the Sygian Combat Robots....

"with Attack Protocols... SCRAP for short..."

"Have no such limitations!"

The two MARION grab the unknown soldier and heave....

 ????'s Luck [4] x Dice [4] = 16 

???? lands upright outside the ship, the oncoming Stygian attack robots too focused on the Aqua-Taine to notice them. ???? flails for balance and realizes their seven-shooter is in their hand.

One of the approaching Stygian Combat Robots with Attack Protocols (SCRAP) sees Samuel. It takes out what appears to be a high tech looking rifle and prepares to fire.

SCRAP? Seriously?

Samuel was about to internally facepalm when he saw one of the robots pull out a goddamn gun and point it at him. With a panicked shriek, he dove out of the way.

I-if any tutorials are going to tell me how to use this wand-thingy, now would be a good time!

The robot fires as Samuel tries to throw himself (herself?) out of the way.

 SCRAP Level [2] * Dice [4] = 8 

 Samuel's Athletics [3] * Dice [2] = 6 

 Samuel takes stress equal to the SCRAP success divided by athletics, so Samuel's stress is now 2 out of a possible 20.

A blast of red energy leaps from the barrel of the rifle, hitting Samuel and sending a jolt of pain through Samuel's new body. Samuel raises the wand into the air.

An image of an anthromorphic magician's wand with two floating eyes appears in front of Samuel.

"Hi there! I'm the Magical Office Assistant, but you can call me Wandy!" the image says. "Just a moment while I assess you for magical affinities... oh, my! It looks like we can start with Summon Bigger Fish! Just point your wand to the area above where you want your summon to appear, and focus on visualizing a fish!"

If Samuel decides to try to cast Summon bigger fish, the attempt is successful ((Samuel's Will [2] * Dice [6] = 12, SCRAP Level [2] * Dice [3] = 6)) and the resulting 6 points of damage is higher then the first SCRAP's spirit cap of 5. Feel free to describe the piscine pummeling of the first of the metal minions.

"OW!" Samuel yelped, stumbling backwards as the robot's laser hit him in the shoulder—

—sending a jolt of pain through his body. Panicked, he held out the wand and frantically waved, hoping desperately to make something happen.

And...well...

That thing looks like Clippy— I SHOULD NOT BE FOCUSING ON THAT RIGHT NOW

"Yes, yes, whatever!" Samuel yelled, pointing the wand above the SCRAP unit's head. Fish. Fish. Fish. Fish. He squeezed his eyes shut, imagining a giant fish appearing from the heavens to flatten the robot. Please please please please—

WHAM!

Samuel's eyes jerked open, and he stared as...well, it was exactly how he'd envisioned it. A giant fish appeared from nowhere and fell on top of the robot, instantly crushing it into actual scrap.

...honestly, I didn't expect that to work.

Someone looks down at the gun in their hand.

"... This is a magical girl weapon?"

They quickly raise the gun and blast it at the attacking robots as fast as they can manage. Spray and pray! ... With a revolver, somehow!

They pull the trigger several times... Click... click... click...

The Scrap aims its energy rifle and fires.

Someone winces as the beam hits. "... I may be stupid," they say, turning off the safety and trying again.

The SCRAP fires again as the elf-eared magic girl fiddles with the pistol, lightly grazing the gun-wielding magic girl.

The third SCRAP staggers forward and fires at ????...

 ____'s total [24] divided by SCRAP Level [2] = 12 stress... 

 SCRAP's 2 stress: 6/5

The third SCRAP's energy rifle explodes in a massive fireball, taking out both of the last two SCRAP droids just as ____ gets the handgun ready to fire.

The door of the flying saucer opens and a MARIAN sticks her head out. "Are they all gone?"
