I'd say no, but that's because I was never a fan of the current redlink policy anyway. Not everything is going to get a page or may even have enough tropes for one, and if something's a future work, which may not be even suitable for having a page for a while, discouraging people from it sounds fine by me.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)I agree with Piter - Redlinking future works is basically the same as saying "Hey, this is good enough to get it's own TV Tropes page! Let's all create it!", and I don't want to see them being given out all willy-nilly, so can we make sure they're works that are at least decent enough to earn their own TV Tropes pages, please?
You have a point, Primis - I guess one possible solution is to do some research into a future work, and, if it meets a specific set of standards, it will become Red Linked on TV Tropes. What standards will be used, though, is up for debate, since it's a tricky issue indeed.

Why's this eggo angy all the time? | Current video game focus: MinecraftI dunno, I feel that future works aren't subject to change their titles so frequently that it would be a problem. Most pre-release title changes happen before the original title is ever made public / widely known.
In general, it is acceptable and even valuable to redlink works that do not yet have wiki articles. This accomplishes two things: it encourages those articles to be created and it provides a ready set of wicks for when they are.
For upcoming/unreleased works, the same general principles should apply as for creating articles for them. If the work is so speculative that we don't know an approximate release date and have no details of what's in it, it does not qualify for a wiki article and therefore should not accumulate wicks, red or otherwise.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I mean, Marvel runs a tight ship so I don't expect Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness to be renamed, but there are certainly other works that have been renamed prior to public release. They are in the minority, but it's common enough to be considered. For example, Edge of Tomorrow was renamed from its source material's title near the end of filming.
Which is why I said (agreeing with ) that upcoming works that are pageworthy should be the ones we can redlink. By the time the trailer is out, the title and release date are usually final, COVID-19 aside.
Spinning off from this ATT.
Red Link-ing future works appears to be a bit of a gray area. Should the policy be clarified regarding this?
Personal opinion: Red Link is applicable for anything and everything that can get a page, and so upcoming works that *can* have pages in accordance with the policy can be redlinked. Those that are far off and have no details attached to it like the Doctor Strange example (as of writing) in the ATT shouldn't, since they can still be renamed or cancelled.
