Lateral move for me.
It's more clean.
back lolOP > Current.
Yeah, I think the current image doesn't work in the sense that some of the Battle Auras shown isn't exactly one at all, just a visual representation of how a character feels in an intense situation.
I'll the suggestion though.
"Money is the goddamn plan! Have some faith, y'all!"(Annoyed grunt)
OP also has the problem of not showing a battle either. Those auras could be from anything.
Possibly create another montage. In addition of the bad quality, almost all of them are from anime. A collage with 4 images from different types of works would be better.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.I would prefer one image where the aura-havers are visibly about to throw down (similar to Animal Motifs) over a collage.
Maybe we could find a bigger version of the top left image on the current. Among those, that one is the one which best illustrates the trope.

back lol
goku isn't fighting anyone in that image as far as I can tell, he's standing while being buff.
I have a suggestion:
While being an example (clearly showing a...battle happening), it's also silly enough to emphasize what the trope means. That one has horrible quality, and also a glowing hand with a pistol is not the best illustration for the trope. 12 might be a case of This Image Is Not an Example, but he looks fierce enough that he looks like he is about to fight, so I think that's a good enough illustration.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.It is "battle aura", though, not "menacing aura". He doesn't look to be in action at all.
EDIT: Found some better-quality images in which actual battles were happening:

The second one is clearer.
ETA: 12 is also fine.

as do I. more obviously a battle.
As a side note, is this trope actually limited to battles exclusively, as has been assumed in this thread? Despite the name, I've often seen this trope used simply as a visual cue to convey great power and intensity, both inside and outside of combat scenarios — see the lower-right image in the current.
clearly things are going well.I think such instances are descended from the battle usage; baseball might even be a parodied example (sports being Serious Business and treated as a battle).
Crowner.
Votes bump; nothing is in the green right now.

Nominations for replacement images:
This one has been on my list for a while now - frankly, the collage is a mess, and not all of the images used are even discernible as a battle aura as opposed to a flashy background. I'd been holding off on starting a thread for this until I could find some concrete images to make a better collage, but I recently came across an illustration that may work while being more concise:
