Thanks! Lately I haven't had much time doing de-wicking, and the number of wicks is slowly growing again.
FYI, a TRS thread
for Mister X And Mister Y has been opened. Hopefully that will lead to a page where we can move examples that fit the original defition of Those Two Bad Guys.
Bump after a month. Still 1436 wicks to clean up, but perhaps it's better to keep the non-ZCE examples until the Mister X And Mister Y TRS thread gets resolved.

It has been decided in TRS
that Those Two Bad Guys was a trope that attracted a lot of heavy misuse and zero-context examples. It was decided that one way it was misused, "a pair of funny villains always together", was a tropable concept, and Bumbling Henchmen Duo was created. The thread is still on the fence whether the original trope concept, "a pair of bantering, exposition-spouting villains" is tropable and/or whether it's what Mister X And Mister Y should be.
Due to the massive misuse, Those Two Bad Guys is an Overdosed Trope, therefore it takes a long time to clean up. The task in progress is to go through the thousands of wicks
, remove them, and when appropriate, replace them with Bumbling Henchmen Duo, Evil Duo, Big Bad Duumvirate, Mister X And Mister Y or Those Two Guys. I've been doing it since October 2020, but it's going very slowly, so some help would be appreciated. Especially since due to the simple (and misleading) trope name, people keep adding wicks if there's any duo of antagonists anywhere in a work, so we are working against the tide.
