Finally watched the first episode last night, because for some reason I got into this weird rom-com cravings.

Holy shit. It really is as unhinged as everyone says. In the first three minutes alone it gave me some good laughs multiple times.

And I must say, I really love Rentarou, specifically his determination to not let others suffer the same thing he experienced. That's the kind of life philosophy I definitely respect.

After I'm done watching The Dangers in My Heart anime, I will proably start binging this one.

I have made it my headcanon that Rin could potentially dominate the Fighting Game scene given the chance.

I spoiled myself... Okay, so we have a Fish out of Temporal Water in that way. But I was thinking of an actual time traveler from the future.

Actually, I think it would be kind of interesting for such a potential girl to, in her original timeline, be girlfriend 99. But then she time travels to jump the line. And there's a mini-arc where they have to convince her to go back, with Rentarou proving to her that she will love her just as much as if she were his girlfriend now, even with 99 other girls to love too. And the girls who joined later convincing her that they've never once felt less love from him.

That's it. That's my elevator pitch.

And I say 99 because the 100'th Girlfriend isn't something that should be given away early, certainly not fully like that. Doesn't have to be that late though, could be any earlier number.

That would be an interesting plot. It says something that it might be possible in this setting, haha.

Rin would absolutely be the type to commit to learning endless combos. Gotta lay on that pain.

Daily Life chapters are my favorite! We get some interesting GF combinations in here.

Apparently Hakari believes that Rentarou thinks of her as a prim and proper lady haha.

Meme became a Mama, in ways she was not prepared to handle. Fsssshhhh... I do like how Meme is becoming the person who notices the little things about the others.

Another quirk established for Momiji: picking a dish that isn't the restaurant's specialty. What a weirdo.

I like Mimimi's hair-behind-ear look a lot.

I would play the heck out of Mai's otome game. I'm reminded of how Mai is actually one of my favorites, design-wise. Or maybe it's just the huffy tsun expressions.

Shizuka attempting to blend in with the gyaru crowd was pure adorable.

Looks like we're finally getting a Beach Episode, and it's starring Kishika.

Shizuka really was going for [Sneak 100] with the socks strategy.

These bite-sized moments are great, and the recent Konosuba game made me think this series could something similar: do a random gameplay task, and your reward is a mini scene of the girls hanging out and having fun.

I also loved Tama mentoring Eira in the ways of the cat, Yameme winnig a nobel prize with her vegetables, how Nano would be illegaly destructive if she had the same goals as Hakari, Rin enjoying red sushi because it is molto violento), among others moments.

Nano would hold nothing back if her goal was to be lewd. Thank goodness Shizuka reels her in with her cuteness.

Please, let's not make a 100 GF gacha. I would be so tempted to whale...

100GF gacha, but because you're playing from Rentarou's Po V, he'll add gems until you roll all banner characters and their dupes.

That was a great chapter. Loved Tama teaching Eira the ways of the cat, Meme comforting Kishika, and Shizuka's gyaru dishuise was just 10/10. These chapters always bring about the best scenes.

I specifically mentioned the Konosuba visual novel to not repeat the gacha idea. I wanted to mention it, but I tried to share a different game idea; yet I failed, since once again I invoked the dreaded "G" genre.

Since gacha was mentioned, I will reaffirm that in my hypothetical version, the player character is Rentarou, and at most you can give him a nickname. But he is Rentarou all the way, no silloutte or missing a character portrait, he gets the respect he deserves.

Best gacha ever

Chapter 166 is out, where Kishika and Rentarou do the thing in the chapter title. Which is a swordfighting tournament at the beach. Why the beach? Needed to put in some Kishika fanservice I guess. And holy heck, do we get some. Wheeeeew.

It's nice to see the Gorira couple back. Especially when she realized Rentarou had a new girlfriend haha.

Meanwhile, the VP continues to be a menace.

A fun chapter that helps me enjoy Kishika more, since it allows her to be more than just baby mode, like she is in 80% of her non-focus apperances.

While after his training Rentarou could probably go to-to-toe with Zoro (if it was necessary to save a gf), it's nice to see he can let them be the leads while he supports them. Even if he wanted to look cool in front of Kishika, he did the good boyfriend thing and let her demostrate why she is a master swordwoman.

I also liked seein Gorira and her boyfriend agin, since they are always cute together, and they help to show how others soulmates also exist. And also, poor host, he better be paid for all the psychological damage he is experiencing.

Finally, about the final joke when I saw they won a saty in a inflatable hut, I assumed baby-Kishika would enjoy the "bouncy castle", and... well... she was certainly getting ready to enjoy it . Aside from the most obviuos ideas the scenario evokes, the idea of older Kishika becoming a baby while carrying in her arms her actual baby is both funny and cute.

I have to salute the host, he got plopped into an awful job but he's doing it, goddammit.
