Then, we can instead focus on breaking down the exit door. We've destroyed other things in here. A Chemistry Lab. One of the Warehouses. The Kitchen. Multiple Dorms. who's to say we can't break the one thing keeping us from escape?

The headmistress tilts her head in thought.    Bold words, for someone who — allegedly — killed for their freedom. Interesting how you didn't suggest this possibility until you were on trial.    She shrugs.    I'll let the other guests come to their own conclusions.   

"Um..." Yoshiko starts thinking through everything Stey said. "Well, you do have a point in that we all have a bigger enemy here. I didn't ask to be part of this either, I was just in front of my computer as usual when I suddenly got poofed away to this place... gonna assume none of you signed up for this either. And yet, here we all are, trapped in this killing game..."

"No, I didn't sign up for this either. As for that, Stey- ..oooooh shiiiiit...." He contemplates for a bit, and then...

"..screw it."

"Still, you did kill someone, even straight-up confessed to it, which seem like too big of an offense to just let you off with a warning or even tempban... then again, if stuck in something like this I can see why you'd do whatever to just get the hell out already."

I've thought about this and her list of rules. I really have. Do you realize what happens if we knowingly don't vote for you? You get to go. But we don't. I'm not all that confident we'd have your help if we do that.

If things go the way they have been going, none of us will make it out. Nobody's made it through the trial yet. Nobody's escaped. If this goes on, we'll either be dead or stuck here in purgatory. Who says we can't band together against her? We've already band together to kill others......Why not band to save others? More bodies is less people to fight."

Cass gets up out of her seat.

"This is for Pamela, for Collin, for Time Friend, and for Mafuyu. They did nothing wrong and died because of it, And for Theadore and Masahiro. They wern't psychopathic bastards, they were trying to live their life and escape. But, as shown, nobody can escape. We need to let people escape. We need to let people live their life. We need to fight against this monster. We need to not let another person die. We need to escape......without killing."

Ruby is shaking. Her voice is unsteady.

I tried to protect as many people as I could. Teach people how to protect themselves. Bring killers to justice, use what I know to make absolutely sure the people we put on trial were guilty. I've done that, I've done it. How can I trust Steybarque? No way out except... except...

She's standing against a wall, hands wrapped around her torso, eyes closed.

"Wh.. What am I supposed to do then?! Vote Stey or not?!"

"That's how we get out alive," Shizuka says. She sighs. "Get on with it."

"Oh come on!"

The headmistress counts on her fingers, then pauses briefly.    We are at five votes for Steybarque's execution right now. It only takes one more to kill them~

   Well, Steybarque. It seems Stephen has decided to condemn you. Any last words?   

[Ruby is having a full breakdown, holding her head. But then she looks up at the Headmistress.]

You sadistic bitch, pushing us into this! You, you.... made us do things we never would have if you hadn't pulled us here! Right? Right? No, no, no, no, no...

I can't... Don't... Can I... I know I can't trust her, but maybe she can still help. Trust her, I can't even trust myself

The headmistress tilts her head in thought.    At no point did I restrain or remove anyone's free will. Every action taken in these halls, by any person, was taken entirely of their own accord. Perhaps, by putting you in an extreme situation, I overrode your free will indirectly... or perhaps I simply exposed you for the monsters you already were. I suppose I shall leave it to you to decide.   

Oh, sweet reason, I can't even justify that she'd continue to kill outside, can I? So even if she gets out and we don't... maybe she should... I know she almost killed me, but I, I...

Can I still? Will she let us? Can I take it back? All of it.

...If you're going to execute me, get on with it. Martyr me for this cause, voters, headmistress. My death will serve to enforce only your senseless brutality, and the others will rise against you. I may perish, but the damage is done. Let me free, and I may convince the others to not hunt you down one night in the future, headmistress. Your self preservation is as strong as mine, I suspect. Make your choice, death for me and maybe you, or life for me and maybe you.

As for you. Those who voted against me, and continue to do so, know this. You are cooperating with HER plan. Her plan to turn us against one another. You plan on killing in your own time, no doubt. You sicken me. But it is not too late for your redemption. Should I be executed, kill no more. Should I be spared, no further kills will be made, and if they are, we will not execute the killers. I will aid you to get out, if possible. You must trust me on that. No more people have to die for our freedom, if we work together to claim it.

If you wish for redemption, simply remove your vote. Make your choice as to how you stand. I fear more unnecessary deaths will follow, however, if we do not band together and break that door.
