Clock is ticking.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThis thread ran into a ditch. None of the options on the crowner reached consensus status, except for having on-page examples, which fixes nothing.
What to do when there's no consensus, like here?
I'd like to apologize for all this.Well again, I had suggested we reword the "redefine" poll option since reading the thread suggested people didn't really know what that option was supposed to mean since the wording was vague. I'd also cut all the poll entries that were obviously disliked. Then we can hopefully get a stronger understanding of if people want to redefine Fandom Heresy to something that "really pisses off X fandom".
Oissu!Yeah, "redefine to include former misuse of this other thing" is an absurdly vague statement. It could include anything that anyone has ever written for the trope.
I would say rerun the crowner, but have a tighter redefinition proposal.
As I said before, allowing it to have the previous misuse for the other trope seems like an invitation for people to use this to complain about things they don't like.
It doesn't just seem like that — that's exactly how Fandom Berserk Button was being misused before it was renamed to Fandom-Enraging Misconception (since it's specifically about objective mistakes that are common to the point of annoying fans).

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I didn't really see the misuse on the page as that, more like a cautionary thing for what not to say to fans of the franchise ("Don't say you think x to them if you don't want to piss them off"). That's more useful and not really complaining.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Yeah, saying we want to redefine the page to be "these opinions are unpopular in the fandom and will get you eaten alive online" is much more specific than "let's include misuse of another page".
Are there any other options we would want to include, or would it just be a single prop?
Don't think so. That was the only problematic crowner entry.
I'm back!Single-prop: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/crowner.php/SingleProposition/FandomHeresy. Tell me if this is worded correctly, or else holler to hook it.
I'm back!Sorry for the delay. Hooked.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportWhat needs to be done for this one?
Frankly, I don't see anything needs doing here beyond maybe crosswicking examples. The definition already encompasses the broadening or so it seems to me. Clocking, if this doesn't get contrary input I'll close it.

Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
Flame bait is when you purposely try to piss off a group of people. Fandom Hershey is just having an opinion that pisses people off.
I think the trope shouldn’t be changed. I don’t see the problem with being used like fandom enraging-misconceptions used to be used.
