I think that's kind of a leap of conclusion to make. Even if there is a legitimate reason for trying to move the beanbag, doing so while someone is sitting on it is still kind of a dickish thing to do.

Or maybe use the title of the book, "Dibs on this chair!" as a caption to make it more clear?

Something from PSY's "Gentleman" music video could also work.

Maybe him kicking a ball away from the kids and dancing obnoxiously while they cry in the background?

Possibly, though I like to avoid multi-part images when possible.

The bottom image alone would get the message across.

At least it's probably the best we can do unless we go the BUPKIS route.

I don't like multipart images either, but 28 is pretty good. It's obvious not only that the two images are from the same scene, and it does not rely on text. You can't always have everything, so .

I think the bottom image is kind of incomprehensible without the context for the kids covering their faces. Is it some weird game?

28 needs both panels to get the point across, but it works for me pending other ideas.

I'm not sure that 28 adequately portrays him as a jerk, even with both panel. For all I know the guy dancing is just playing a 1-on-4 game with the kids and is happy to have scored a goal.

Since we are not shown what happens to the ball, the lower panel of 28 comes off to me as an example of It's All About Me.
