Opened. I lean toward 1.2 pending other ideas.
I think a collage will be the way to go, picking any one character seems reductive.
As such, 1.2 gets my vote pending other ideas. I like how some of the poses and designs highlight the character's similarities.

I agree on the collage being the way to go. I notice that Gon and Luufy are doing a really good job illustrating the "excitable dumbass optimist" side of the trope, but the other four are way more serious.
So I'm wondering that's intentionally trying to illustrate "gets serious if it's about friends" side of the trope - in which case it's maybe fine. Or if we might just want new images.
Couldn't really find anything decent of Naruto or Natsu looking chipper and optimistic, and I don't know who that top right guy is. But here's another possibility for Goku◊ maybe?
Asta◊ might also be another possibility to consider.
Maybe replace the Naruto in 1.2 with 1.1?
"It's just a show; I should really just relax",Agree with replacing Goku and Naruto.
Keet cleanupMaking a collage right now. Will post when done.
This works, they collectively look perky, spiky-haired, and willing to pick a fight.
Looks good.

I like it.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."8's good.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.
back lol
8's in and tagged; caption beyond the names?
"I'm gonna become the best martial artist/ninja/pirate/wizard/Hunter/Keyblade user ever, believe it!"
Or just "BELIEVE IT!"?
I like the first; "Believe it" doesn't mean much without context.
Keet cleanup17 first caption.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)17.1 works well enough. It's in and tagged, with the descriptors potholed to the appropriate titles. Locking up.
I initially suggested this◊ in the Suggestion thread, but then this◊ came along as a countersuggestion, with mixed reactions.
Thoughts? While I like the idea of the collage, I think we can find images that better illustrate the "Hot-Blooded Book Dumb power-of-friendship young boy" archetype.
