Needs Help: Nightmare Fuel.Mario Party

A while back the NF page for Mario Party was cleaned up and this included removing the minigame Dont Wake Wiggler from Super Mario Party, which means since it's no longer an example, neither is the picture.

Any suggestions or should we just remove the image for now?

I would have gone with Mario Party 4's Bowser Space since that genuinely scared me as a kid (why did they have to darken the board and have that demonic laugh), not helped by the fact that it was my first true impression of old Bowser himself (I really wished I had met a more comedic Bowser in Sunshine). But it's not on the list so here's this instead.

Hey man, if that scared you, go ahead and add it- we were just trying to cut down on blatant exaggerations, which unfortunately took out a lot of the page. But nobody will object to you adding something that genuinely frightened you.

I have posted about the original "Don't Wake Wiggler" example being scary for someone to the point of souring the whole game in the Nightmare Fuel thread. So maybe it will be added back and the previous image be valid? We'll see. I'll vote on other suggestions if it doesn't.

I mean, even if the example is re-added, the image still isn't scary. It's an angry face; that's not nightmare inducing.

Maybe I'm just looking at it from too much of my own personal standpoint, as an adult who finds very little of the horror genre to actually be scary, but is an angry face really scary?

Well, he is also an adult and his reasons are more than just "angry face". Watch the entry and maybe the comments, do you think he's sincere?

I'm not saying the game isn't scary or that he wasn't genuinely scared- I'm saying the image itself isn't scary.

As established on other NF image threads, just because the image is about something scary doesn't mean the image itself is scary.

And I'm not interested in the video, partially because it has nothing to do with my argument against the image.

Oh... yeah. Agreed, the video may validate the example, but it does not validate the image. I guess we could use "Pedal Power" in 4, it's at least a slight step-up.

Looks like the cleanup thread has changed its mind, so re-add the image.

The image is terrible and should stay gone.

Examples like these make me hate NF.

I mean, yeah, even if the example is kept, that doesn't mean the image is good. I still don't think it's scary enough.

Other suggestions:

Those are both worse IMO.

14.2 might work if Waluigi(?) was more visible.

I'm not seeing the scene depicted in 14.2 among the examples on the page. If it's really that scary, then it should be added as an example; otherwise, I don't think it's a very good choice of an illustration.

Actually, I don't think it's a good image either way, since it looks a bit more slapstick-y than nightmarish.

It's more of the build up that's scary, especially for children. In a Bowser Mini-Game, you are given the task appeasing Bowser in one of three games (fruit, darts, and balloon) and the loser gets roasted. And Bowser loves the suspense since he'll either fake you out with the fruit or the Koopa Kids take cover when the balloon is about to burst.

Ghost Guess is the best of all but even then it's not particularly good. I don't think this is a series that is visually scary enough to provide a good image.

Another for Ghost Guess. We're not going to get much better than generically spooky with this series.
