  • Name: Victor Von Venora

  • Alias: Arcane Fog, V3.

  • Age: 17

  • Gender: Male

  • Appearance: Victor has multiple scars on his face due to his amateur experiments. His eyes are baggy while his hair has some gray strands in it, despite being 17. He wears a labcoat that he brought last Halloween ago which he refuses to take off, no matter how many times his parents ground him. His eyes are always obscured by his opaque glasses, although if one were to see them he would have grey-eyeballs that almost appear to be slit. His hair goes down to his knees, so he often wears it in a bun.

  • Powers: His "Mad Scientist's Eye" allows him to scan the biological bodies of living things, discerning what their functions are. His Mad Scientist Eye also gives him defences against being mind-controlled and his memory being erased for whatever reason that may be.

  • Equipment:

    • Victor prides himself as being in the "Mad Scientist category" or so he puts it. He mainly focuses on repairing-technology, reverting things to its previous state.

    • He has gravity shoes, allowing him to step on air and make a hasty escape.

    • He is a major fan of Kaiju and also specializes in making things bigger through rays. He studies the energy that makes villains grow bigger and applies that to objects, as well as living beings. His "Kaiju Serum" is what allows this. "Kaiju Serum-PR01", when injected or inhaled, allows people or objects to turn into city-block versions of themselves. "Kaiju Serum-PR02" allows people or objects to turn into monstrous versions of themselves.

    • He has a cure-all antidote which reverses any of the effects his serum might have. It also cures any type of illness, yet the source is so incredibly hard to come by- not necesarily rare, that at the most he can only create 3 vials a year from said source.

  • Skills:

    • Despite Victor being a self-proclaimed Mad Scientist, he loves doing meditative exercises that harness the mind, body and soul. This includes yoga and qigong breathing exercises.

    • His knowledge in acupuncture allows him to correctly identify the pressure points of people.

    • He's more acrobatic than he looks, allowing him to run long distances and bend himself in ways that seem impressive. Maybe almost impossible. Maybe concerning.

  • Weakness:

    • His obsession over his "lifetimes work" left him as the shell of an innocent boy. What once was an outgoing gentleman is now a reclusive scientist, shooing people away once they disturb his work and is prone to angry outbursts. This tends to hurt his relationships with otherwise good people with good intentions.

    • His sleep-deprivation often leaves him sleepy and unresponsive when important things are going on.

    • He is somewhat of a squishy wizard due to never bothering to practice hand-to-hand combat or weightlifting.

    • His equipment are rather brittle, feeling like toys rather than special government equipment.

  • Personality: His distrust of authority gave him an odd reputation for being a delinquent, although he really just doesn't like it when anyone tries to interrupt his work. Which is always.

  • Alignment: Neutral Evil

  • Background: Victor is of Canadian-Asian descent and ever since he went to Japan, he has noticed the odd high-rate of Kaiju. After going back to Canada he poured in multiple years of his life into studying Kaiju, which lead him to the discovery of the "Kaiju Serum" back in Japan. Although he plans to release his studies to the public, multiple government agencies conspire against him in order to keep his mouth shut, leaving him as a rabbit who's almost always on the run. One day however, the American government, rival to whatever government was hunting him down in the past, offered him a job as a spy and a top-secret scientist below several bases. He agreed since he basically had no choice, and the American government offered him a civilian life in Chicago.

  • Etc:

    • He has a pet bunny named Vicky Jr.

  • Name: Djavan Van Helsing

  • Alias: The Lucky Helsing

  • Age: 17

  • Gender: Male

  • Appearance: Djavan is short for his age, easily mistakable for a 14 year old. He is a black british male with untamed hair that ends to his neck. His looks could make one easily mistake him for a girl on first sight. He usually wears a black longcoat complete with a blue and pink scarf, and a pair of anime shades, complete with gray gloves.

  • Powers:

    • Adder Eyes: Thanks to Djavan being a descendant of the long-running member of the Van Helsing family, he has natural athleticism and the almost supernatural ability to detect creatures not of this world. This includes spirit-vision- the ability to see the Astral Plane and the creatures that reside on the lower planes, which includes earth. This means that he can see elves that may otherwise be invisible to normal humans, ghosts, etc. They tend to activate on and off when he doesn't mean them to, which means that he often sees glimpses of demons, spirits and such during random times. Although he could see them for longer if he really tried to, he doesn't always work. Which infuriates him.

    • Psychic-Vampire Magic: Him being dhampyr, although of the more psychic variety, gives him the ability to absorb powers. Although he can only use them for as long as he absorbs them, temporarily robbing his victim of their powers. For example, if he were to absorb the powers of a fire-user for a minute, then he gets about a minute-worth of fire-powers. He can pause and resume the "Power-O-Meter". On the more non-psychic side, his vampire blood gives him the ability to turn into a ball of shadowy-smoke, making him able to phase through objects. While in this form he can become physical, turning into a somewhat blazing-blue ball, yet it is still mostly black.

  • Equipment:

    • A grimoire titled the Galdrabók, which contains 47 spells and sigils/staves. Although he somewhat refuses to use the rituals themselves due to their nature, he uses them as a guide for drawing magic circles.

    • A magic wand that he uses for his rituals. It's made from an antler of a deer-skull. It has brown cloth tied around the place where Djavan cut it off from the base of the skull, which is also held together by a pendant.

  • Skills:

    • Occult Arts: He is quite knowledgeable in the realm of the occult, knowing how the ware spirits off, use magical items of ancient folklore etc. He keeps his own grimoire, filled with spells and rituals for his own personal use.

    • Being a Van Helsing gives him a natural affinity for hunting-weapons, especially when it comes to supernatural creatures.

    • He's basically a living archive of supernatural recordings. If you want to know how to find out the weakness of a specific ghost, or how to attract a werewolf boyfriend- he'll have the answers.

    • He knows how to work his way around Cyberspace, able to send people there by scanning things in, etc.

  • Weakness:

    • His unnatural laser-focus leaves him usually lost in his own world. He's just not very present when things go on.

  • Personality: Djavan is one of the quiet kids, not bothering to talk with anyone out of shyness. Although if he wants to impress you, he'll try to act as cool as possible. Despite this, he's still awful at communication, willing to resort to actions more than to simply bother to talk. If one were to know him well enough, however, he could feel more comfortable to become a chatterbox.

  • Alignment: Chaotic Good

  • Background: Djavan is of Van Helsing descent from his mum's side, as he is an only child. Despite being of Van Helsing descent, his mum's family has a bit of a random species offspring, with his mum also being a half-mermaid. Although he believed that his Adder Eyes were simply a result of him going insane from his 6 months worth of isolation, they were simply the result of him being mature enough to develop said abilities. He discovered his vampiric-side after his mum told him about her mermaid-side, and discovered that instead of being a half-mermaid, he was a dhampyr. His mum then explained that it was actually due to a type of curse on the Van Helsing family that some of them would end up as half-monsters.

  • Etc:

    • He does not have a weakness to light or holy-water, yet being baptized weakened a lot of his more would-be vampiric powers, if not outright removing a few. There is no natural chance of him regaining said abilities. Besides that, it's rather unwise to unlock them anyway.

It was inevitable.

  • Name: Lucy Melanie Livingston
  • Alias: Inkwell
  • Age: 17
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: 5'3". Pale skin, pitch black hair, and stone grey eyes. Form seems fairly underweight for her age and she has a tendency to appear quite tousled. Most usually wears baggy, form-disguising clothing, though she's not exempt from more casual attire if she's feeling sure of herself. Her usual hoodie and pants appear to be a glossy, somewhat iridescent black—as her ink is stored in the fabric (which also makes touching it a mildly unpleasant experience). Usually gentle in mannerisms, shy and avoidant of provocation, however she has a jarringly uncomfortable hard stare when pushed.
  • Powers:
    • Melanogenesis: The ability for her body to produce an organic ink by converting excess fats and fluids in her system. Upon generation of the substance, she can push it out through her pores at will and in a great quantity—however she can end up exhausting herself if she uses up too much of her own mass and even be put at risk of passing out due to dehydration or starvation when creating an abundance of ink. On occasions when this does occur, the loss can be substantial due to the suddenness and speed to which she loses mass—her own continuing underweight state is purely due to the fact that her inexperience has cost her her own physical mass.
    • Melanokinesis: The psychic ability to manipulate ink. More specifically, Lucy can only control her own biological ink to a significant and precise extent, as it is already infused with a prominent psychic energy field—allowing her to make incredibly accurate movements with all the comfort of using her own limbs. If she packs it densely enough she can mimic solidity in her ink despite its clearly semiliquid nature, and can use it to form temporary barriers and even snag her enemies from a distance using simple tendrils. Lucy's ink is tied so closely to her mind that it even reacts based on subconscious thought and her reflexes—which while troublesome when unwanted has proven to have saved her life many times in the past.
    • Tactile Telepathy: An underdeveloped sub-power that is in actuality a natural side effect of her powers. As an esper, Lucy uses strong psychic energy fields in order to manipulate her medium—her medium in this case being her ink. Since her medium is so densely infused with psychic power, it ends up acting as an extension of her own mind; meaning that brushing up against somebody else's psychic field (even if dormant) can end up conjoining her mind and theirs for even the briefest of moments. Unfortunately the most she can get is fleeting glimpses into their superficial emotions and basic thought processes, and prolonged contact actively harms her—as she cannot extend her psychic field out from her ink for very long without her mind beginning to overclock from the strain of being displaced. Still, she can use it to discreetly read people who she wants to comfort or otherwise read, and it's handy for ascertaining base intentions. It's to be noted that while she can initiate this ability without using her ink (i.e. direct skin contact) she cannot use it with her ink being detached from herself—if she's psychokinetically manipulating a floating globule of her ink a few feet away from herself, attempting to use her tactile telepathy on someone with it will at best do nothing or at worst produce painful feedback.
  • Equipment: Her school bag, which is notable due to the sheer quantity of ink she keeps stored in it. Pens, printer cartridges, and even just plain ink jars are stuffed in her bag to the point where her psychokinesis can end up indirectly carrying it if she focuses on the ink held within. She also carries with her some basic art supplies such as a sketchbook and coloured pens in case she finds inspiration while away from her easel.
  • Skills: Along with her brother David, Lucy has taken several dance classes while young and has become remarkably flexible and agile as a result. Unfortunately her own lack of practice and the side effects from her ink generation have made her more than a little sloppy, but her reflexes are still admirable and her precision in movement is equally so. Lucy is an avid painter and has an artist's mind; seeing the world through a more abstract lens and as such tending to pick up on things some people might otherwise miss—most usually "auras" or general perceived projections of personality from both mundane objects and people. Despite this mostly instinctive mindset, she's not one to shirk on keeping things organized and is a typically good planner in her own right as well.
  • Weakness: Lucy's ink only acts as fast as her reflexive instincts, and even then it is limited by its own durability. Her defensive barriers are easily torn and more of a means to delay rather than consistently defend, and she lacks the ability to physically butt heads with anyone due to both her small stature and lack of training in hand-to-hand combat—meaning that once her ink defense has been overcome she doesn't really have anything else to fall back on. Overexerting Lucy by forcing her to overproduce her ink is an easy way to cripple her, and even then one solid hit is usually enough to send her reeling. Lucy's peaceful tendencies also makes her easy to take advantage of, and she fights only with reluctance until she's been forced to do so to her full extent—so until that point, there are several vulnerabilities in her distant fighting style and slow, careful nature that can be taken advantage of by a faster and smarter opponent.
  • Personality: Lucy is gentle, shy, and so focused on caring for other people that she oftentimes ends up neglecting herself for the sake of even complete strangers. Her tendency to meticulously plan ahead also means that she goes above and beyond what people might expect of her, and though while slow to think on her feet she is otherwise quick to pick up on unstated messages and the hidden reasonings behind the way people around her act. Ultimately Lucy desires to be a peacekeeper and a protector, unafraid to put herself in harm's way for the sake of others who she feels deserves to be defended. Unfortunately this own idealistic vision of hers is repeatedly struck down by both reality and her own self—at her core, Lucy is painfully aware of the fact that she is not as nice of a person as she projects herself to be, and is in such an intense grapple with her own imperfections and intrusive desires that she has ended up internalizing them and thus segregating responsibility from herself and her demons; the personification of which she has now dubbed "The Wraith". While this short-term solution has worked for now in keeping the worst parts of herself hidden, it's beginning to break down and eat away at Lucy's sanity the more she continues to suppress herself—despite all her efforts, she can end up violently lashing out in a cold and calculated manner towards those she feels has crossed her, and once her more selfish and wrathful urges have gotten a taste for being satisfied, it can be extremely hard for them to be locked away again.
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Background: Lucy was born as the second child to Lucius and Jeanette Livingston, and in her early years was a much more cheeky, flippant, and energetic character—though unlike her overwhelmingly rambunctious elder sister, had a greater severity underneath it all and an unwavering opinion regarding right and wrong. As she aged, however, Lucy began to feel as if her own faults were beginning to infringe on others, and as such slowly worked on suppressing each and every one of them—her new personality eventually becoming more esoteric, hesitant and outwardly shy in her teenage years. The poor financial situation that she and her family were stuck in didn't help this all too much, and Lucy began to long for a way to help both her loved ones and others despite her own limitations. As if in answer, her powers latched onto a pen she was taking notes with while in class, and over time this limited ink manipulation began to develop into a full set of abilities—motivating Lucy to finally take action and use her newfound powers for what she perceived to be as good. With her brother assisting her with his own research and role as her very own voice-in-the-ear, Lucy had a very short attempt at vigilantism before the realities of dedicated crimefighting overwhelmed her and forced her and her brother to cease their organized activities. While Lucy still helps people and uses her powers for good (more out of an inability to stop than any decent reason she can explain), it is in a much less dedicated fashion—more sporadic and situational rather than her actively going out to search for criminals to stop. As of now, she is simply trying to take each day as it comes—even if they're surrounded by her equally empowered and strange classmates.
  • Etc:
    • Suffers from Raynaud's syndrome, which gives her poor circulation in her hands and feet and causes them to discolour and become comparatively freezing to the rest of her body when she's even slightly cold.
    • Speaks in a soft, initially high-pitched sounding voice, though this is actually more forced than anything so as to make her sound more benevolent and gentle to people she's trying to be nice to. In reality her voice is quite heavyset and low, which she dislikes also due to it being at odds with her small frame.
    • David theorizes that Lucy's ability to produce ink may be some sort of physical mutation rather than it being a purely psychic effect. However, this theory remains unproven due to Lucy's firm stance against being dissected to find out.

Sounds like a party! Mind if I join?

Name: Pollyanna Heterodyne

Alias: The Smiling Spark

Age: 16

Gender:

Appearance: Pollyanna is a girl, standing at 5'04" tall with brown hair, a reddish-brown left eye and a blue right eye. She tends to wear pink dresses and ballet shoes with a pair of steampunk goggles and a brown leather flat cap.

Powers: Hypnotic Right Eye: When Pollyanna makes eye contact with a person and makes a "びびびび..." sound with her mouth, she can send faint blue energy waves from her right eye and put the person she made eye contact with into a light, dreamy trance. Pollyanna often uses this power to get away from danger, or to prevent interference while she's working.

The Madness Place: When Pollyanna delves into this power, her creativity begins to show, the limiters on her problem solving skills disappear and she becomes extremely adept in many fields of science, especially robotics. Sometimes, things end up blowing up in her face...

Equipment: Pollyanna never leaves home without her trusty red toolbox. In it, she carries all the tools she needs for building robots or testing the limits of physics.

Skills: Capable scientist, rather proficient at wielding a mallet/sledgehammer

Weakness: As creative as Pollyanna is, she is always reliant on the resources in the environment around her. If she's not in an environment with plenty of resources at her disposal, her Madness Place induced creativity won't be as effective.

Personality: True to her name, Pollyanna is an optimist in the truest sense of the word. She always thinks outside the box, and will always be there for others as a shoulder to cry on, if need be.

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Background: Pollyanna grew up in a simple home in the US with her mother. She always had a creative side to her and would think so far outside the box, she doesn't even know what "the box" looks like. She love the web-comic Girl Genius and decided to change her last name to match the last name of the protagonist. Whenever she wanted to set out on an adventure, she would don her signature cap and goggles, grab her trusty toolbox and head out.

Etc: Pollyanna has Heterochromia iridum, a condition that causes a difference in the coloration of a living being's eyes.

Pollyanna speaks English, Japanese and Spanish with relative proficiency and fluency in each.

Show me the wisdom of the world... Tell me the secrets of the heart... and the sweet~ mysteries~ of love~...
