Loid lying about his age and name even back then, huh
Also wasn't expecting Franky to show up
Another parallel to Anya.
I wasn’t expecting Frankie to pop up either. Seems like he’s about as close to a friend as Loid can have.
Someone on reddit posted a relevant bit where Loid reminisces about his mother while talking to Yor, and seeing a bit more of what happened or rather, not seeing what happened aside from shrapnel and a distressed Kid!Loid makes it all the more heartbreaking.
…How did we get from "Dolores Umbridge" to "cold-war-getting-hot" so quickly? ò.Ô
In any case, when this series wants to remind us that war isn’t cool, it sure as hell knows how to. I still remember that scene with Sylvia describing war to that terrorist early on.
The timing of these chapters might be a coincidence (I’m not sure events in Ukraine make big news in Japan like they do in Europe or the US) but yeah, it’s a bit depressing.
As someone mentioned before, this war seems to have originally taken..."inspiration" doesn't quite seem like the right word for it...from the aftermath of WW II.
The fact this could still be applicable to what's happening in Ukraine just kind of highlights how in some ways, war never changes.

Disgusted, but not surprisedCan’t wait to see that animated, Sylvia’s speech was Signature Scene for me.
x3. I know it is doing the rounds. Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the Diet and Japan does have an unresolved territorial dispute with Russia and the matter has inspired some minor cases of vandalism against businesses perceived as supporting Russia
@Demongodofchaos: The manga's editor Like that pick on Twitter (though it was one of a lot of fanart he liked).
The third episode is out. Ehh... I'm kinda mixed on this one. The anime-original content was cute, but I feel like the anime has consistently poorer comedic timing from the manga, which is kind of unfortunate. Still an enjoyable watch, though.
Completely random rambling, but:
I've seen so many fanarts of Anya X Damien grownup versions (this one is my favorite and my headcanon) that I really want the author to write a spin off about that, even if for just one chapter.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Which turns out to be Becky's friend fiction.
Oh please, we all know Becky only writes Loid x Self fics.
Though things will certainly get interesting if Damian ever learns of Loid's mission, even many years after its completion. The idea of him seeing Anya as a honeypot would certainly create a great deal of conflict, to say nothing of what Damian's reaction to betraying his father inadvertently would be.
Would Loid even have any room to talk given how many hearts he's played with in his spy career. He even tried to take advantage of Yor's feelings for him when he thought it would help the mission.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.In Japan, do schools interview the parents of students who applied, like in episode 4, or does this only happen in anime? In one of the Dragonball Z movies, Goku, Chichi, and Gohan have to sit in an interview for sending Gohan to a cram school. At that time, I thought this was supposed to be a joke, a satire of sorts, but after seeing something similar in this anime, I wonder if this was actually a thing. I feel like there is some cultural context I am missing.

"Enshittification truly is how platforms die"-Cory DoctorowVery least, I'd imagine it would be an issue for a school as prestigious as Eden is supposed to be, regardless of country. Especially one, again like Eden, that seems to be very conservative in its values, such as requiring a mother and father, no exceptions.

Since we talked of adult Anya, Timido Cute might be a hint.
Though Anya would be the evil twin in that case.
I just started this series. From the way promotional material implicitly compared Anya's secret is to Loid and Yor's secrets I kind of assumed that she'd be a Tyke Bomb as opposed to mostly a regular little girl who also has telepathy. I prefer it, it's just not what I was expecting.
Being a tykebomb presumably was the lab's original purpose for imbuing psychic powers on children. Anya just Escaped from the Lab because she wanted nothing to do with that.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI'm hooked on the anime. Is the manga worth reading?
"Enshittification truly is how platforms die"-Cory DoctorowThe manga is fantastic.
In some ways, the manga has better comedic timing than the anime. Not enough to call the anime bad by any means, but enough that a few people grumble about some of the anime scenes.
Oh we're straight up getting Loid's backstory now?
