Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

The Winter's End, District 1 Outpost
Ever since Forte has become a Champion in one of the older seasons, she begins to spend more effort to train her marksmanship, trying every firearm available in the cafe, be it the heroic M4A1 assault rifle or the unsavoury PKM light machine gun. After spending at least a week improving her accuracy, she begins having CQB trainings, trying to practice how to take down multiple enemies in a short period of time using nothing but a Glock pistol. Finally, after completing most of her training courses, she begins to practice how to calculate wind and snipe an enemy from a far distance using the Arondight, a custom AS50 anti-material rifle bestowed by King.Despite having spend at least 8 hours per day to practice her marksmanship, Forte still can't familiarise with her own trademark weapon. It seems Forte isn't meant to be a sniper.
"Miss! Miss! I missed again! If I couldn't make it, how am I suppose to safeguarding this cafe from the Neon Quarters? How am I suppose to protect Yellow and District 1? I must find a way... I must find a way..."
"Forte, how many days have you skipped lunch and... fell asleep in the firing range? You can't overdo it. It takes patience to be a sniper, and judging at how you lose your patience and force yourself to continue, you clearly have none."
"But..."
"A soldier can't perform well without energy, even an outsider like me knows it. Let's take a break and have a meal before continuing."
"..."
She then reluctantly leaves the firing range to have her lunch.
"At this rate, how am I suppose to to compete against Career Tributes in the next season?"

The Starry Invitation
Bale's base received Magolor's invitation, which was meant for Bale. Since he was on vacation his replacements took care of the message.
Jamie: Guys, we've got an invitation to an event of some kind, by... Magolor.
Meta Knight: Ugh, Magolor... What does that treacherous slimeball want?
Lucina: It can't be anything bad if it's an event where Kirby will likely be.
Meta Knight: I don't care if everyone else forgives him, I won't do so ever.
Ryuzaki: What does it say there, James?
Jamie groaned at the nickname a bit before reading the invitation.
Jamie: It says: "Come to see a beautiful meteor shower, invite your tributes if you want to. Meet us at... [DISCLAIMER: I have no idea how to word what goes here, lol]
Lapis: Hmm, seems this was meant for Bale, who is most definitely not here.
Charlie: Should we message Bale to tell him about this?
Jamie: Perhaps... But how will we contact him?
Mini-Deadpool: Oh, I know, he left us a special multiversal-range phone, we should be able to contact him wherever he is as long as he's not in a place full of interference.
Jamie then got the phone from MD called Bale.
Jamie: Hey Bale. You've got an invitation to an event organized by a Magolor guy. Can you come here, or do we go in your steed?
Bale received the message and responded quickly.
Bale: I'll be glad to go there. I was already planning to move into a second part of my vacation, so this'll be a nice detour from it. I'll promise I'll be there in time, you guys get ready in the meanwhile. Oh and don't forget to invite Pythor, Alastor and Diny if you can.
''Bale then hanged up the call
Jamie: Well, looks like he's coming after all. Let's get ready for this occasion, shall we? Just make sure to contact the Villains' School as Bale wants Pythor to go there. And does anyone know where a "Diny" and "Alastor" are?
Charlie: I know Alastor, I'll make sure he comes along.
MD: '' And I'll take care of Diego!
Ryuzaki: You mean Diny, right?
MD: No, that three headed salamander is named Diego.
Ryuzaki: ... O-kay, whatever you say.
Meta Knight: You've heard Bale, let's get ready for this occasion.
The group then all went their separate ways to find formal clothing to wear in their rooms.

Might make life that much easier for ya, 'specially if you need to do more research on these rowdy lil' alien fuzzballs and how fast they grow."

"I recognize that outfit! It's just like in the books!"
"I know, Ichi made this for my birthday!"
"Really? Happy early birthday, then! I'll see if I can get a gift for you in Kendor! And before we go, I'll go get my other assistants so they can see you off!"
6k1 goes back inside.

"An invite to a meteor watching party from... Magalor, of all people? Sounds interesting. Although let's hope one of them isn't some stray Ecliptic Meteor a King Behemoth casted into space..."
He then dresses up and prepares to head out.
"This time, I'm arriving in person."

6k1 goes back out with Ally and Dupe following her, her hair tidied up this time. Ally scans Power's dress and compliments it while Dupe smiles at the unicorn.
"I'm not gonna clone myself because I need to be in full strength for this," says 6k1. "However, I'm gonna be very busy, so..."
She lets Dupe clone her crystal ball and gives it to Ally.
"Power, if I'm not able to receive your call, Ally will answer it for you."
She also fishes her pocket for earpieces, but to no avail.
"Mimi ate them, too..."
"Not to worry, I'll draw them up right now!"
"Ichi, anything else before we see you off?"
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"
"About the possibility that your lil' fuzzball apparently might have to eat something that ain't food for a good reason... I know you love being Batman-levels of prepared and all, but that don't seem like it'd be worth all the obvious stress. Just lemme modify the muzzle so that it automatically kicks in whenever she tries munching on something that ain't edible, okay? Methinks it'll make life much easier for you in the long haul."
Kirby
The Spacepod, Top of the Hill
Many of Kirby's friends have arrived. Magolor has prepared various delicious snacks, such as strawberry shortcakes, chocolate cakes, hamburgers, and many others. Some friends bring snacks of their own, such as Daroach, who brought cheeseburgers, Taranza, who brought cinnamon rolls, and Susie, who brought ice cream.
Kirby has arrived in the Spacepod. Seeing the party, he then tries to eat some, only for Magolor to inform him.
"Hey, that's for our guests!"

"Are you sure about that?" asks Power. "You can't force her to permanently change her diet, remember?"
"Right..." she says, remembering her experiment on the Starble with Twilight. "That's why I have to teach her to control her appetite. Now if only I had time for that..."

"That's a good decision, my child," says Toriel, "though if you're still having trouble, you might have to find someone who can help you there."
However, says Ally, it is possible that the muzzle will break when Mimosa reaches her adult size, so it is still recommended that you have it upgraded so that it can expand with her.
"Alright, I'll keep those in mind."
6k1 then sees that the sky is starting to become dark.
"Ichi, Power, do you still want to take the long route? There might not be much time."
"Yeah, I'm thinking that we just teleport there."
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"
"I was actually thinkin' of just teleporting there in the first place. Anything you wanna say before I hit the button?"

6k1 and the others wave goodbye to Power as she and Ichi are teleported to the venue. Once they've gone, Ally and Dupe return to the basement while 6k1 notifies her staff, Dave, and the Rescue Squad of her departure. She also warns Billy of Mimi's growth spurt.
"Well then," says Toriel, "have the portal summoned so we can go to the Business School immediately!"
"Mom, I'm thinking that we just walk there, just so I can wish my Podium Finishers good luck on the way. We might even see the meteors, too!"
"Sure thing!"
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"

Eredars looks around to see where the party's being held. He spots the Spacepod on the top of a hill.
"So that's where it is. I expected someone less fancy, but aight."
He then makes his way to the pod.
"At first, I was like "hmmm, yeah, buff choccy bunny." But bro: I don't think it's a joke anymore..."
He and Power are teleported to the venue.
"Hmm. Looks like we're the first ones here, Pow-Pow."

Power arrives at the hilltop and sees the food being prepared. She immediately goes for the plate of quesadillas.
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"
Kirby
The Hilltop, Outside the Spacepod
Magolor sees the first guests arrive at the place they have set up at the top, outside the Pod. He greets Power.
"Evening, pal! I made those things special for you! Where are the others, anyway?"
Kirby and Ribbon, meanwhile, are watching the setting sun. They eat a chocolate cake together. Adeleine is doing her own thing, painting a picture of Bandana Waddle Dee. She then sees Power, and introduces herself to her. Magolor checks some of his mails and finds a message from Tabby, showing her hospitalization. He replies.
"I see. Can you ask Pecan if she could come and bring her pals?"

Ichi selects a slice of pizza from the food being prepared and chows down. He looks around to see who else might have turned up.

Bale's replacements were all ready to go having brought Pythor, Alastor and Diny along, at the same time as Bale returned.
Bale: Well, I'm back. Time to get going.
He and his tributes then went to the Hilltop to meet the others.

Frisk also waves hi, but keeps their distance from Alastor and Pythor.

Bale: I've been doing fine, Power mostly, that Trip I had sure got messy at times.
Alastor then grinned at Frisk, he clearly enjoyed the fear the child had.

Eredars finally makes his way to the top of the hill.
"Hey, hey, people. Sse-I mean, Eredars here. Never expected to see me in person again, eh?"

"Actually she ate my crystal ball again during that sudden growth spurt, unfortunately," says 6k1. "I tried my best controlling her, but I had to activate the muzzle before she could eat everything in my office!"
"Hoo boy..." says Power as she promptly draws up a replacement for her. "Did she, like, suddenly grow to the size of a pillow when you entered her room?"
"Not yet," says 6k1 as she pockets the new ball, "but she was starting to spill out of my hands when I picked her up! Who knows what other powers she might manifest during her teen years..."
Toriel is reminded of how much Asriel grew since she last saw him. She still wonders if they'll ever meet again...
