Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

Dave's Home Base
After realizing that the Arena has underwent a time loop, Dave took mental notes about what was happening until the end. To hear that the Titanic and everyone on board was a pleasant surprise, at the very least. Though Riley weren't too happy about failing mid-way, Travis was able to assuade her that it's alright. She's now the usual girl she is, at least as far as Dave believed before the duo returned home.
After that, he is left busy searching for volunteers for sparring partners to 6k1. Then he's left making some chat with the Autobot weapons master Hound (an old friend of his), as well as the thief of Tantalus Theatre Troupe and hero of Gaia, Zidane Tribal, and his love interest, the Princess of Alexandria, Garnet "Dagger" Til Alexandros XVII, before sending them to the Arena. Now, after taking a brief rest in his quarters, he checks on the recent messages. He then sees a message from 6k1 about Waterblight Ganon's offer.
"Sorry for being late, but if it's still there, I suggest you pass. The Blight Ganons can be very deadly, and I'm sure the Hero of the Wild will agree with that, even if they ARE holding back.
As to WHY I was late.... I had to do some errands. You'll see about one of it."
After sending the message, he then takes some more rest before continuing his search for sparring partners. After all, he'd like to believe that Fira would also be interested in joining.
Meanwhile, Ponyville
A train from Manehattan arrives at the Ponyville station. Among those disembarking are a certain purple stallion.
"Let's see.... check. Check, and check," he hums to himself as he checklists some notes as the train heads off. "Well, so far is good. It seems I can afford to stay here for a while longer than usual."
He places his notes back into his saddlebags, and starts to take a trot off into town.
"I wonder if there will be any pleasant surprises, especially after...." he mumbles to himself, before shuddering, remembering what happened last season with Kain getting timewrecked since he was watching the season at the time. He sighs. "I so need to get some fresh air."
Unknown location
Terminus, who had been watching the recent events by use of magical bubbles, is not very happy to have his privacy intruded by Akumo. But the latter's offer of joining his band of villains is enough to slightly soothe his anger down.
"You wish to join me? Very well. That being said, power comes at a price. An equivalent exchange, if you will. What will you give up in exchange of my help, and what do I need to give in exchange for your allegiance? I'm willing to bargain, within reason."

Is that... Starfall? she wonders. I wasn't expecting to bump into him today, but a pleasant surprise nonetheless.

She laughs at the broom-tailed Experiment sharing his name with a certain former fashion officer, but it becomes mirthless when she remembers the turtle monster becoming a dirty killer and regretting it in Reboot S8.
"I've a feeling that 6k1 will eventually nominate every last Experiment, but sadly she decided against nominating Swapper. His powers could give her and the Gamemakers a headache."

She then hears the train come to a complete stop.
"I've just arrived in Ponyville. Catch you later!"
Power packs her ball and disembarks the train. She immediately gives Starfall a hug.
"Long time no see! I had friendship lessons with Twilight earlier, and now I'm going to Fluttershy's for assertiveness training! How are you?"

In the cursed fantasy land of Mugenri, which is set in a universe that is different from Gensokyo, the place is running as usual, with Tsubakura and Yabusame greeting Tenkai back after their return. However, everyone would suddenly sense something unusual going on with the world, as the barrier starts to break down. Then, the whole place is consumed in a blinding flash of light, with the end result being the land left without it's important people, as well as being exposed to the Outside World.
The effect doesn't just hit Mugenri. As Hoojiro and Hal are talking on Twitter about their investigation on the disappearances of several people before, including the former's siblings, they are suddenly taken through some kind of a dimensional tunnel. Rey and Zelo are also transported that way.
Meanwhile in a club called Lapxus, its members, who are all freed from the 2D world, are also sucked in through a portal, landing on the Arena podium for the cast of Len'en.
Billy's Mansion
As Billy checks on the progress of the Game, he sees that there's not much yet and the season hasn't started. He does know however that to everyone inside, time moves more slowly than outside of the Arena before the Game officially starts, and moves faster otherwise. He also heard rumors that the control room is protected from the time manipulation by a special barrier.
Then, he notices that it is his birthday today. He immediately sends messages to all nominators about it, except 6k1 as she's already informed, and Zorua obviously. He also sees that the nominator he has tried to help never responded, so Route ends up taking the slot instead. About 6k1, Billy also replies that he'll help her deal with the Blight Ganons.

As Kirby and Dedede enjoy their drink, more guests appear. Meta Knight, Taranza, Susie, and Rick are here. Kirby is excited at their company, and they start to chit-chat about life.

As Dave continues his search, he receives a message from Billy; it turns out to be the latter's birthday. Smiling in pleasant surprise, he then proceeds to send a quick message.
Oh, is it? Happy Birthday to you, then, Billy. May a new age gives birth to better wisdom, craft, and most importantly, happiness.
Ponyville Train Station
Before Starfall could get far from the tracks, another train from Canterlot had arrived, and the next thing he knew, he was being glomped by somepony. But it turned out to be Power Stroke, so he can't stay mad for long.
"Hey, Power. Yeah, it's been a while. What are you doing?"
She replies that she's taking some assertiveness lessons from Fluttershy.
"Really? That sounds cool! I happen to be visiting Ponyville; I only just arrived from Manehattan. I needed some fresh air, and some familiar space, so I decided to go here. And cue surprise, here you are. Would you mind if I join you for this one? Since you mentioned it, I'm getting interested in seeing Fluttershy's lessons with my own eyes. That is, if you don't mind me accompanying you. Not much else to do, anyway."
Hope: "Let's go. We'll be together." Lightning: "I only know... that soon, we'll be together."

"Sure thing! After all, I'd like somepony to root for me during my training!"
And so Power leads Starfall to Sweet Feather Sanctuary. Neither of them know that a brown stallion with a light blue horn was watching them at the station, and he summons a portal back to his dimension.
"Assertiveness training, huh? I'll see if I can give her a little 'push'..."

A Ride full of Danger
As Trixie and Gale moved as fast as they could in Trixie's wagon, they began to encounter some more danger.
Trixie: Hey there's something ahead of us, flying in the sky right at us.
Gale: Must be birds.
Just as he said it, one of the "birds" swooped down and attempted to attack them, but only ripped a part of the wagon instead.
Gale: I take it back, those are not birds.
As more of the creatures swooped down, Gale got a good look at them, they resembled a cross between birds and a lizard, with long sharp noses with spikes on it. The creatures were getting scared off by a larger beast at the distance. As soon as they all were left behind by the wagon as it advanced, the creatures stopped and hanged on the branches.
Trixie: What the hay was that?!
Gale: I have no idea, those are not the kind of bird that are usually seen in Equestria, at least they stopped... Hopefully for good.
Trixie: Hmm, hey, you seem a little familiar, did Trxie ever met you before?
Gale: Not as far as I remember.
Trixie: Uh, huh. Nevermind that, perhaps I just mistook you for someone else. Anyways, what if Discord is behind this? I wouldn't put it past him.
Gale: Maybe, but it seems weird that he'll unleash random creatures without any real direction or purpose... Alright, I can see your point.
The two then continued on their path.

"More new guests? Interesting."
Dark Ribbon serves more drinks to her new guests.
At the meantime, Forte is tidying up the cafe for her customers. She then comes across an unusual thing stuffed in a cardboard box placed at the firing range: a broken white-haired robot dumped away by the Quarters before the duo bought the outpost.
"A robot maid? Hmm... this thing is broken, but I don't think it's completely beyond repair, it just... lacked a brain of some sort. Besides, what's the point of giving it a hospital gown if it can't repair itself? Whoever left this thing in this cafe deserves a slap in the face. If only we could find someone to repair this robot, we might've been able to get a third staff. I wonder where this thing came from..."
"I've no idea, but I think it's worth a try, otherwise whoever left her there would've just thrown her into a trash can instead of leaving her in a cardboard box."
Forte then picks up the broken robot and observes it.
"Let's hope that it wouldn't turn out to be some sort of evil super fighting robot and cause havoc around Panem District 1. But hey, I don't think a flimsy robot maid like that would have any sort of combat prowess. Alas, we're no scientists, we need someone skillful enough to repair a robot."
"Hey, anyone here is good at robotics?"

"Alright,let's go! But first, lemme check on Tabby."
Pecan heads to recovery room and looks through the window. She sens Tabby awake with her hands on her head. Pecan opens the door.
"Oh,you're awake!"
"Thank you but he's still out there."
"Whom? Oh...It's that guy. I thought the injection killed him."
"No,he survived but he let go from possessing me. And now,he somewhere else."
Her eyes have a lot of shock and fear in them.
"Let's calm down with some cocoa and pastries. Magolor offered to take us to the new cafe in District 1."
"Oh,really? It's open now? Huh,okay."
"I just want to cheer you up,okay. Things have been rough for you lately."
They leave the room and head to where Magolor is.
"Alright,let's go right now!"

Tabby's Base
Magolor then tells the two. "Well, what are we waiting for?"
Magolor, Mr. Star, Ribbon, and Nagisa then lead Tabby and Pecan into the Spacepod. They set course for the cafe. Magolor then shows Tabby the purple Soul Gem Kirby got from Homura.
Later, they arrive right in front of the cafe.

The Game has started. As the whole cast is confused, they suddenly feel they just stick together. They all made it to the Cornucopia and start hoarding supplies when a gamemaker approaches them and announced that a sponsor is giving them MasterChef invitations.
Then, the whole group witnesses as Wilbur breaks the heads out of their action figures.
Billy's Mansion
As Billy looks back at how his birthday was celebrated by both the nominators and in his homeworld, as well as how he replied to Dave and 6k1 at some point before to thank them, he sees the season starting. Immediately, he sees it and is bored at how ordinary the cast's situations currently are, though he's also amused at the invitations.

With her mind cleared of her worries about the other Blights, 6k1 returns to her office and turns on the feed, just in time for the new season. She was so focused on meditating that she didn't notice that the production took a while to be finished, probably due to the unexpected maintenance work.
Power's most likely gonna miss out on this, but her training's more important. Can't wait to hear back from her.
She watches Fearow somehow blast away Team Skull with the Buster Wolf, only for Catra to call it a "stupid tribute" afterwards. Meanwhile, Hertz Donut receives a MasterChef invitation, much to his confusion, then uses an aimbot to play basketball, using his rings as makeshift hoops.
"I wonder what this season has in store for them..."
Sweet Feather Sanctuary
Power and Starfall arrive at the sanctuary
and stroll through the lush paradise. The meadow grass brushes gently on Power's hooves, and the quiet burbling of the stream soothes her ears. Even the chitter-chatter of the critters calms her down, and now she wants to pet one of them herself.
She spots Fluttershy feeding some ducks by the waterfall and approaches her.
"Why hello there, Power," says the pegasus. "Are you ready for your training?"
"Sure am," she replies, "and my friend Starfall here tagged along so he can cheer for me!"
"Aww, how nice of him! Would you like me to show you two around here first, or come to my house for tea? I'm sure you're tired from the trip!"
"Anemone dear, I know you want to be more independent from me, but... please take care, okay?"
Light and Hope
Dave's Home Base
Soon enough, the season begins. On the Bloobath, Dave sees Zidane and Garnet grabbing some fishing equipment with Cheetah, of all tributes, while Hound gets scared by a Spanish Inquisitor. He merely shakes his head at that.
Afterwards, Zidane decides to take Dagger for a walk around the Arena—Dave assumes because he wants an impromptu date—when he suddenly slips on a banana peel. Unfortunately for Garnet, she is holding his hand as he falls down, causing her to fall as well. They take a moment wondering where did the peel came from before laughing together at the misfortune. They then decide to go elsewhere for their impromptu date. Meanwhile, the Autobot munitions expert has a.... yo mama fight. Dave raises an eyebrow at that.
"I believe there's something to be said about Hound doing that, but I'm not sure what the joke is," he remarks.
Sweet Feather Sanctuary
"So this is the famed Element of Kindness.... Starlight's description matches her accurately," Starfall thinks to himself as Power greets Fluttershy.
She then greets him as well.
"Thank you, Miss Fluttershy. I happen to be visiting Ponyville for my travels, and I just arrived from Manehattan when Power arrived from Canterlot; I do not have anything to do for the time being, so I decided to accompany her. As for your offer, either way will do as long as you're fine with it."
Hope: "Let's go. We'll be together." Lightning: "I only know... that soon, we'll be together."

"Okay then, I'll give you the tour first!"
Fluttershy shows them around the place, explaining its facilities and services while fawning over any animal she sees. She even points out the scorch marks left by Mimi during her last stay with her.
The three then take the trail to her cottage, which looks warm and cozy against the afternoon sun. Fluttershy lays out a picnic blanket and prepares tea and cucumber sandwiches for them.
"I think I'll pass on the sandwiches," says Power as she takes a seat. "I prefer grilled cheese... No, not that Cheese, you get what I mean?"
Fluttershy puts a hoof to her mouth and giggles.
"Yeah, I get it, and it's okay. You can sip some tea if you want, it's good for you."
Power magicks the handle of her teacup and lifts it to her mouth. While the artistic mare takes a slow sip, Fluttershy turns to Starfall.
"Before we begin, I hope you don't mind if you tell me a little bit about yourself. I know you're a good friend of Power, so I hope we'd be friends, too."

Immediately after exiting the portal, Aaron, Alex and Tokage hide themselves in a nearby bush before observing their surroundings.
Scipion already made his move as they saw the fresh, dismembered corpses of the 2 guards, recognising one of Scipion's methods to kill and torture his ennemies. Aaron used his aura to locate the evil Zoroark. But Scipion already left the nearby area.
"Damnit, he escaped..." cursed the Lucario.
"Uuuh... Guys...? Where did the portal go?" asked Alex, worried. Aaron and Tokage looked at the place where the portal was supposed to be, only to see that it was gone.
"Crap! So that mean we're stuck here!" said loudly Alex only for Tokage to put one of his hand on his mouth, telling him to shut up.
"Silence, Alex! We're in the middle of what seems to be an ennemy territory. Scipion could attack us at any moment. And we don't know how we should interact with the other nominators."
"Whoops... Sorry, Toky..." muttered the Charmeleon in shame, lowering his hat.
"Tokage, do you think you could find something about this place, like some sort of guide or something?" asked Aaron. The Grovyle nodded as he used a special ability he have developped, becoming invisible.
"I'm on it. I trust you will use your aura powers to communicate with me." replied Tokage, crossing his arms.
"Don't worry, I already created a link between us three. Just be careful and do not hurt anyone if you're sure they are not evil." said Aaron, raising his thumb.
"And if you're in danger, call us and we'll beat the hell out of your agressors!" added Alex, proudly smirking and wriggling his tail in excitement.
Tokage smiled at his friends before beginning to explore the area, unknowingly moving towards the library.
"In this insane place, love is all that stands between us and the great beyond."

After laughing at Linkara having a Combine Harvester breakdown before throwing himself into the ocean, 6k1 notices some footprints moving towards the Library in its surveillance system. She checks her Pokédex and identifies that they belong to a Grovyle.
That's strange... she thinks to herself, Grovyles can blend into their surroundings with their leaves, but this one can make itself invisible! What's it doing here...?

Under the Sea
Joe began to swim around the sea's depths, having been told by Grogar to unleash one of his old minions, Squirk, who could help him in his plans. He had been given the location of said minion's prison, Seaquestria
Joe: I hope this "Squirk" creature can be a useful ally to my plans, wouldn't want an idiotic assistant like my older ones.
He then reached an underwater city filled with what appeared to be Pony/fish hybrids.
Joe: These must be the seaponies that the blue goat told me about, that means I'm close to the place.
He then kept swimming going unnoticed by the local residents, until he reached the very bottom of the kingdom, where a giant rock with a magical rune was hidden.
Joe: Remember what he told you, use the small orb of magic to open the seal and release him.
He then pulled out from his mouth a golden orb of Grogar's magic, which he then placed on the seal. As soon as he did, the rock crumbled apart to reveal a giant red octopus inside, it had yellow ridges on its head and was accompanied by a purple crayfish. The two then woke up and stared at Joe, who presented himself to them.
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."

6k1 lets Mimi wave goodbye to the Waterblight and desummons the armor. She also removes Mimi's mask and keeps it in a small chest that she can open anytime. She then runs her fingers on the walls. The paint's starting to chip, and it's supposed to absorb the lasers, not reflect them.
6k1 transfers Mimi to the family room and calls the Maintenance Department to repaint the walls. She then returns to her office and contemplates on what the Phantom just said.
Seems to me that I'm gonna be visited by its "relatives" in the future. I have to be prepared for that... And I'm still wondering who Scattered Brain is, but I know Edgy Cat is Scipion...
