Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

It seems the tributes I wanted to enter got murdered. Well, that's what I get for not playing by the rules, I guess." He sighed in exasperation.

"I'll say. I dunno why all these folk are just... flocking to this place like moths to a frickin' flame, but just say the word and I'll have uninvited guests escorted from the premises before you can say Quidditch," Ichigo offers 6k1, admittedly feeling uncomfortable with how crowded the meeting had suddenly become.
Kabal rolls his eyes at the puns as he finishes his burger.
"If you all think I'm scary, you've never seen the likes of D'Vorah or Baraka. Next to them, I'm probably gonna start looking real cuddly."
Kirby
The Database Library, Conference Room
Kirby is eating his favorite strawberry shortcake while Ness is eating some burgers with his pals. Mr. Star is also eating a burger. While eating, Ness then takes his time to interrogate Frisk.
"So, little mister... miss... whatever you are, do you know about a tournament where me and Kirby fight together with big faces from all over the dimensions?"
Outside, a pink-haired fairy and a young human artist appear into view. They're Kirby's old pals, Ribbon and Adeleine! They both knock on the door and is accepted. After they got in, Kirby hugs his old friend, Ribbon.
"Aww, they look so cute together!" said Ness.

It was just another normal day for the villainous organization, with Valecor's disappearance, chaos had been reigning among several members, but their High Commands were able to placate the fears, starting from now they were entirely in charge with no one around to boss them. The first one to speak in this day was one of said High Commands, Bill Cipher.
Bill Cipher: Hello, good morning everyone, hope you all woke up with thoughts about vanquishing all opposition!
Alongside him was Grogar, the former Emperor of Equestria, the two were working on a project of their own, soon they were joined by other 3 high commands, Aku, HIM and Black Hat.
Grogar: Good morning, everyone, it seems we all had the idea of waking up at the same time.
They then proceeded to gather in a table for a small breakfast.
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."

Upon waking up, a woman in white with blonde and reddish hair and red eyes with a white, cubic iris gets to the table and eats some breakfast. Her name's Shiva, a Photoner.
"I normally don't enjoy food like this, but whoever made this deserves some sort of reward. It tastes great. Anyways, I'll show you what Mithra can do later."
"At first, I was like "hmmm, yeah, buff choccy bunny." But bro: I don't think it's a joke anymore..."

"Just Frisk will do," says the child. "And by that do you mean the Smash Universe? The Underground was recently connected to it thanks to that Sans costume promoting it."
The skeleton sighs. "again, i'll let those fans have at it..."
Ralsei also wonders if his universe would be connected as well once the rest of it's been explored.
Galis then eats the remaining food on the table. The ones who provided them groan.
"We only made/bought enough for 6k1, Power, Ichi, Dave, and their tributes!"
Twilight rolls her eyes while 6k1 shakes her head and turns to Guy.
"Not to worry, good sir. There's always next season (technically the season after next because it'll be the Death Battle), and you're free to hang out with us at the party!"
She hands him the invite to GC's base.
"However," she says firmly, "this meeting is only for select members, so I may have to ask that you leave right now!"
Her voice is loud enough for the unexpected guests to hear, even Ribbon and Adeleine, who just entered the door while she was talking with Guy. She then gives Ichi the go signal.
"Wait!" Power raises her hoof. "Can Mr. Star's group stay?"
"Sure, since I've been meaning to meet with them early, too."
"Alrighty."

Upon exiting the library, she decides to scout the arena a bit. She discovers the Mewtwo's charred corpse and the shattered remains of Fredbear.
"How did these damned souls even die? Must've been something serious..."

Guy-Manuel slinks out. He decides to just head to the Arena to avoid stirring up any trouble.
In the Arena
Guy-Manuel takes the podium next to his fellow cyborg musician, Cyborg Noodle. He stares at her intimidating stance. His heart monitors pulsate faster and faster.
"Don't cry because it's over, cry because it happened."

He nodded in understanding. "Gotcha. I'll be waiting around then." He gave her a proper salute then sauntered out of the room. "Now... let's see if I remember where the Gamechanger lives."

"Oh, hey! I'm here" Zanreo says as she enters the room and waves to the other nominators, now dressed in a purple suit. "And I brought some guests too...""Hey, everyone! The protagonist has arrived!" Neptune says as she looks around the place. "So guess the party's about to start?"
"Aw yeah! This seems like it will be an AWESOME party!" Meito Anizawa yells as he enters.
"Yeah! Can't wait for it to start..." Zanreo goes over to the food table. "Ooh, this looks delicious!"
"Snacks? Hope they have pudding!"
"Alright, the others should arrive in not too long..." Zanreo says.

Once he's made sure that all of the uninvited guests, save for Star's group, have left, Ichigo looks to 6k1 when Zan and her tributes arrive, as if waiting for the DM's thoughts.

Upon seeing Zanreo and her tributes enter, 6k1 facepalms and shows her the sign that she'll stick to the door: This room is reserved only for 6001 (and Power), Ichigo, Dave, Mr. Star, and their tributes.
"I'm sorry Zan, but rules are rules. I'll just see you at the party."
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"

"...Oh, ok! Sorry about that... I'll see you later then!" She turns towards her tributes. "Guess we'll be going back home while we wait" she says, as she starts walking back, telling Glitch!Zanreo and a few other tributes, who were standing farther away from the door, how this wasn't open for everyone.

Destiny Islands
In the small island where kids and teens like to play, the Princess of Heart and Keyblade wielder Kairi is sitting at the legendary paopu tree. She seems to be very sad. Then again, how couldn't she? The one person she cared about the most has disappeared, sacrificing himself to save her from death. If only she had been stronger, more capable....
Another one of her best friend, Riku, approaches her.
"Hey, Kairi."
"Hi, Riku."
"You can't stay here moping like this forever, you know. Sora won't approve of that."
"(sigh) I miss him too much to want to do anything else. Just before the battle against Xehanort, we shared a paopu fruit, to show just how much we wanted to be a part of the other's life. And yet.... if only I had done something to avoid what happened..."
"I know. I know. I miss him too."
Kairi sighs sadly.
"Say, I just got an invite for a multiversal party, and I'd like you to join me as a friend. I may not feel the same way about you as I did before all of this, but I still care about you. So will you?" Riku offers.
She hums as she thinks about it, before saying: "Okay. Perhaps I can use it to get some steam off."
Riku nods in confirmation, before summoning a gate to Dave's Home Base.
Lon Lon Ranch, Hyrule, Era of the Hero of Time
Link, the Hero of Time, is currently taking a view of Hyrule Field's bright sky. After long years of fighting, he now lives here as a farmhand. A Skull Kid appears, and takes a seat beside him.
"Say, Link, what are you up to?"
"Just enjoying a good view."
"Don't be so much of a loner, y'know. You don't want to be like me and what happened with Majora's Mask."
Link nods at the advice, before three fairies appear: His dear friend and guide, the bluish-teal fairy Navi; the rather condensing but full of a heart of gold, the yellow fairy Tatl; and the latter's innocious and caring brother, the purple fairy Tatl. The three of them are carrying a moderate sized crystal ball.
Hey, Link! You've got to see this!" Navi tells her companion.
"What's this all about?"
"It's for a multiversal party, and we're invited!"
"Well, if that's the case, I'd like to go. I need something to lift off my mood."
"I'm with you, Link. Wherever you go, I'll go. That's my promise, remember?"
"I'm staying here; I'd prefer it if there's someone behind just in case."
"Aw, you're just saying that so you don't have to deal with too many people. But oh well, I'm staying," Tatl jokes at the Skull Kid's expense.
"No sis, you go with Link. I can stay here and help the Skull Kid."
Tatl was about to argue against it when Link holds up his hand. "Let's not add further arguments here. If that's what you want, Tael, then feel free to stay. I respect your thoughts. Tatl, you can join me if you want."
"(sigh) Oh well, not much I can do about it, anyway. Tael, you stubborn knucklehead."
Link then touches the ball, which opens up a portal to the Home Base. After saying goodbye he, Navi, and Tatl then depart by it.
Equestria
"You sure about this?" Starlight, still wearing her headmare attire, asks Sunburst.
"Yeah, you go ahead and have fun. I can handle things just fine now," Sunburst replies.
"But what if—"
"Don't. I can assure you that I'll be alright. And you know that I'll be here in your heart."
"Okay. Thanks, Sunburst."
She then plants a kiss on his cheek, causing him to blush, before teleporting straight to Home Base.
Dave's Home Base
Starlight, Riku, Kairi, Link, Navi, and Tatl arrive at the Home Base's Entrance Hall, where they are greeted by Advisor Hans. Hans tells them that Dave and the others have already departed earlier, and summons a portal to the Library. The group then departs.
Outside the Database Library
After sometime waiting, the second group arrives, to Dave's pleasure. Now, he just needs the confirmation to enter.
Hope: "Let's go. We'll be together." Lightning: "I only know... that soon, we'll be together."

6k1 receives another text from Timothy.
"Alright everyone, Dave and his group should be here right now!"
Everyone cheers as she goes back to her seat.
Power can't contain her excitement anymore. This'll be the third time she'll meet with his group here, and they're always fun to hang out with at parties.
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"

As she was about to relax, a drone flies into her house and tells her about an offer
"Greetings there, Ms. Runkals. Can you spend a few min-"
She cuts it into four chunks with her katana.
"I want to be left alone, goddamnit."

Ichigo taps the wolf-shaped head of his cane in anticipation, whereas Kabal leans forward slightly in his chair.
Light and Hope

Soon enough, Dave receives allowance to enter. He then leads his tribute towards the conference room.
The group enters the conference room by the order they plan to sit on: Dave, Fira, Starfall, Starlight, Nemo, Kairi, Riku, Link and his fairy companions, and Ninten. Dave takes a seat besides 6k1, hugging her. Fira just takes her seat, saying nothing. Meanwhile, Nemo decides to talk to the Ramons first. ".... Hey."
Ninten takes a look as the Chosen Four. "So, you four are the kids who are to continue the battle against Giygas? .... Huh. You remind me of my own journey," Ninten tells them. He then takes a look at Ness and Paula, noting their close relationship. "Young love, huh? You tell me."
Starlight, meanwhile, takes a look at her mentor and at Power Stroke. "Is there something on your minds?" she asks as she approaches them.

Applause fills the room when Dave's group enters. 6k1 hugs her brother back.
"You two must be very close if you're like siblings," says Frisk.
"Indeed we are," says 6k1.
Nemo approaches the Ramons. Mikey looks up at him and smiles.
"If I were able to get up, I'd give you a hug right now."
He shows him his sketch of his own mobile suit.
"It's still not done yet since I have a lot of schoolwork to do, but thanks for the idea!"
Carlos likewise shakes the hand of Nemo's suit.
"Hey there, Fish Boi! Let's put our past behind and clown around at the party!"
Sans and Power giggle while D. A. just calls out his name.
"Oh, sorry for not introducing myself first!" she says to Nemo. "I'm his classmate Dorothy Ann, and according to my research, your suit enables you to use various weapons in the Arena!"
The others save for 6k1, Power, Sans, and the Ramons go "ohhhh" at the new fact.
Mr. Ramon then gets up and greets him.
"Does your dad live up to his species' name, too? 'Cause I wanna challenge him to a dad joke battle!"
Carlos stifles his laughter while Mikey rolls his eyes while smiling, as if to say, "oh Dad..."
Starlight then approaches Twilight and Power.
"Hey there Starlight," says the princess. "I hope you're running the school well."
"But Twilight, who's ruling Equestria while you're out?" asks Power.
"Spike is."
"Seriously?"
"Not to worry, the Canterlot Delegation's assisting him, even with the Amulet for the Sun and Moon."
"That's good. Don't want another incident like in the Grand Equestrian Pony Summit..."
Twilight simply nods. Power gets up from her seat and goes to Starfall.
"Long time no see!" She hugs him. "Mind if I introduce you to Ichi and Ralsei?"
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"

The Void
Karnvaxael thinks of an idea
"I'm going to visit other universes in order to increase my army. I'll start off with the Doom universe. It's easier to get fellow demons to join you, after all."
He then creates a portal to Phobos.
Mars
Karnvaxel finds a few Imps along with a Baron of Hell leading them. He then uses his powers to make them work for him instead.
"Yes. This is going to be swell in the long run...."

He greets Dave and his entourage with a wave before looking at Starfall in particular.
"Yeah, you might remember me as the guy who kinda... offed Gale with a bowling ball in the last Nominator Games. Not my proudest moment, that was."

An eagle
Detective Gamechanger's Base
As Billy is waiting, he notices a spaceship coming in to land. Immediately, he authorizes the ship to land, before opening the hangar to allow the ship to enter. Once it lands, Billy has the security drones greet the guests, before making the system scan the guests, which recognizes them as friendly and allow them in.
Then, he notices Psyche coming in to land with her helicopter. He gives her a permission to land, before directing her to a helipad. Once she lands, he has the drones greet her, before the system scans her, allowing her in once she is confirmed as friendly.
The Arena
Meanwhile, a tall man who looks like he's in his 60's, has white hair, and wearing a robe is working on running the season now. He is Julius Prophetus, the head gamemaker. First, he sees that Billy finally sent Maid Orin and Kagerou in, who come in last thanks to the usual training before the scheduled start. After this happens, he checks on his gamemakers under his employ.
They have finished inputting the tributes in the data, as well as the custom events suggested, converting them to magitek signals that can influence the tributes to do what they do. It is random in nature however, and has to be simulated first.

After seeing the guests allowed, Billy's Clone leaves back to his mansion too, giving a goodbye for now to the guests. He then walks into his school, before leaving through there.

Upon entering the conference room, Galis introduces herself to everyone there
"Hey, everyone. Figured I'd come here since I wanted some company. Sh-I mean, it can get quite lonely there."
She notices some food on the table.
"Ohhhh, something to fill me up!"
She starts eating some of the food on the table.
"That was tasty. Oh, yeah, forgot to introduce myself. Name's Galis. Warrior of Light and Darkness, murderer of gods, liberator of Ala Mhigo, worldwide savior... Oh, and the stealer of pants that one time I was with Hildibrand."
The Arena
The Spigell starts to get a bit suspicious of Mewtwo and Fredbear's presence
"Scans indicate that the organism known as Mewtwo and the robotic being known as Fredbear shouldn't be here. Recommended course of action is to take them into a part of Panem where there's no one there and dispose of them."
"Should we really do that, brah?"
"We should. They're breaking the rules since they weren't even nominated in time."
They turn invisible and teleport behind Weirdguy's tributes. After that, they grab them and take them into a dark part of Panem.
"Activating Gifoie mechanism..."
"Activating the chilly Gibarta mechanism!"
The Spigell's fire ball hits Mewtwo and causes it to burn to death. Meanwhile, the Zele's Gibarta freezes Fredbear solid, allowing it to shatter him with a single strike.
"Unwanted presences disposed of. Let's head back to the Cornucopia."
They head back to their podiums.
