Holiday – Saint Foundation HQ

Estimating height . . . 300-450 metres. Species unrecognized. Threat level high. Civilian risk high.

“I will send out a report for all local ACPs to assist in the evacuations,” Holiday vocalised after her scans had completed. “In the meantime, I will– oh, I'm on Squad 2.”

A pause, before she awkwardly clapped her hand on Martin's shoulder and nodded to him.

“...Well that was convenient, wasn't it?”

I'd look up to him as leader, but... Mahvash...

“Once we've all gathered ourselves I will begin according to procedure,” she stated. “But take note. The enemy may not be intentionally hostile. Proceed with caution, and for god's sakes please try not to kill a frightened and unstable creature if you can help it.”

Tyulla – Saint Foundation HQ

“Tyulla,” the Primordial said in a bland tone, shaking Iuvem's hand without so much as a blink. “Ty's okay too. I guess.”

The rumbling diverted her attention, and she immediately zipped up to the window with an accompanying gust of wind in order to stare at the distant giant with wide eyes. Her hands (which were placed against the window) seemed to gradually begin to vibrate with excitement, before she stepped back a pace and let her civilian clothing shed away.

It was... odd. Like an outer layer of skin that was overtaken by a layer set underneath it. Her shirt and jeans were replaced by a distinctly alien suit of battle armour—a black, crimson, and brownish red thing with a strange heart motif incorporated into its design. Along with odd piping features around the neck. The specs the creature had been wearing over its eyes had also by now slid themselves underneath her nougat-coloured flesh.

He can blow things up,” she pointed, a playful tone in her voice as she injected a false sense of indignation towards Mason and jutted her thumb out the window towards the thing. “I'll keep it small. I promise. Focus on making things safe.”

If there was one thing Tyulla seemed to take seriously, it was battles. And considering how she'd only just now realised the scale she usually fought at, she knew it'd take a lot of self-control on her part. Especially since the suppressor that she'd hoped would be at least functional could possibly explode if she wasn't careful. Greater incentive to hold back, at least.

But she knew she couldn't let down Mason. It was strange, but in the sea of not caring, he was the one she didn't care least about.

Saint Lad - Squad 1

Squad 1 was a pretty cool, funky bunch - first and foremost he recognized Renee, who he guessed found something funny about why he preferred Marky, and then Sam, Zach (seemed like a pretty cool, strong and silent type), Wilma (yet another schwing!), Ellie, and Lily. He went to go put an arm around Sam's shoulders as a show of camaraderie, but then the world seemed to start rumbling.

Pretty obvious there was trouble outside and so Marky went running immediately to go find what was causing it.

Seeing there were people outside in brightly colored uniforms both from the group in there and not, he started getting attention, shouting and directing the panicking supers in the field to help civilians. "Hey! Hey! Errybody! If you're not fightin' the frosty mofo, go help the Po Pos get people to safety!"

Once that was done, Marky pushed his hair back a bit and started getting ready to fight. Looking up at that creature's gut, he dug in his heels and then leaped in with a tremendous sonic boom behind him, aiming a punch right at the midsection of the giant.

Cole - Squad 4 (98)

Looked like Squad 4 was a little lighter on personnel this year. He already missed Evelyn and Clay, even for all the disagreements they had on the temple assignment. Though it looked like there were some people shuffled on over.

Once the sounds of war started, Cole ran outside immediately and looked upward, the wind going cold and rushing down his back as the frost giant entered his sight. A wry grin formed on his face, "Heh...I've fought bigger." He started to gather his power, hoping the result would be stronger than the whisper that was his attempt at telepathy.

Gotta keep this thing's attention on us rather than the surroundings or the people runnin' around like headless chickens.

So he began gathering power...and was astounded immediately by the result. A tremendous burgeoning force gathered in front of him, resembling a great blue, churning force, cracks of energy occasionally sparking out.

He then released it, and it flew at the frost giant's head in a cavalcade of concussive force.

SCPD Precinct 62

"Its a plant," Mahvash had been staring at the fern too, but repelled the others. I don't create anything good not because I cannot but because I will not... The 'cheap excuse that he proved. And may the chief never dwell on my having though that.

Mahvash dimmed things as usual. The desk around the fern actually went off-color. That's the best she could describe it. She didn't mind showing it off until she finished her thing. Jahi called her forewoman... after she stole the plant but politics.

Thus, she was kind of giddy, giving the officer his usual mid afternoon wine and dine. And incense. Ritual was important to make magic come back. The conversation wasn't that important. Well, it was. It helped keep Martin's relationship with the Super City officers so he had a host and a constituency. note  She just remembered his name and kept him and his officers in touch with minor miracles.

Which helped him keep his head on when the giant appeared mid city. That look of confusion may have meant inexperienced invader. Or accident. Either way. "Well, Martin and his colleagues will have had to see that." She was going to try to rope the peace officers into a Super City meet and greet event but this was a debut too. "Evac and if you can have choppers cut off its path with cables, that would help."

Martin, if you run into Sam, tell him he can end this quickly by building the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man a trail over the streets and buildings where we can get him to calm down. It'd be nice to know what sent it here. And Ryuu is going to have to help us pull him up and over the city if Cole knocks him down here.    While sending her message, she erased debris with precise tendrils of power.

And no I was not skipping your orientation. I have the cocktail dress to prove it. I just had a surprise. It'll have to wait now. I'll meet you when you arrive.

Squad 1 - Ellie

"Aw, I super wanna come visit. Me and Yoko can complain about our husbands together." Ellie said, teasingly. Then she gave Sam a surprisingly gently hug when he walked up. "Hi, Sammy! I hope you're... doing okay."

Before she could try and fail to subtly ask about his depression, orientation began and was abruptly interrupted.

"We'll catch up later, I guess." She almost pouted. "After we kick some giant ass. C'mon, guys!"

Running over to the window, she forced it open - fortunately it had been designed with flyers in mind - and knelt in front of it, her wings spreading into existence as she transformed into her demon form. "Anyone who wants a lift, grab on."

After giving her Squadmates a moment to grab on to her, she leaped out the window and towards the giant, shooting a lightning bolt at its chest as she flew.

Squad 3 - Mikael

"And of course he's back." Mikael muttered, giving Interceptor the side-eye. He remembered the man's no-nonsense attitude (or as Mikael preferred to call it, 'being an asshole') from first year. Which was impressive, given most of his first year at the Academy was kind of a blur to him now.

He didn't have long to think on it, as a frost giant popped into existence and starting wrecking the city. After texting Van a quick picture of their Squad list to let him know who to work with, Mikael cleared his throat.

"Alright, Squad 3, with me." He called out, in his best drill sergeant impression. "We've got our first mission, and it's to bring that giant son of a bitch down. Don't worry too much about staying nonlethal for this one; even if he's not just a mindless animal, he doesn't give a damn about killing civilians. So don't give him the courtesy of holding back." He conjured a rifle and began to stride towards the window that Ellie had opened. "If you can hit hard, then hit it. If you can't, go for the legs to cripple it. If you can move people out of the way, or clear out buildings, do that. Our priority is minimizing casualties, here. Got it? Good."

Reaching the window, Mikael assumed his own demonic form and leaped. As his wings carried him up, he took aim, his wall of rifles manifesting behind him to match the one in his hands, and fired. A barrage of bullets flew towards the Giant's eyes, intended to blind him.

Squad 4 - Nariko

As Lily recovered, Nariko sat and ruminated on her actions. She hadn't expected such a serious reaction to what she had intended as minor teasing at worst. Nonetheless, she couldn't fault herself - Lily apparently had anxiety issues, which Nariko had no way of knowing - and so resolved merely to not taunt her next time.

Privately, she felt sorry for the saxophone player. Sam, by his picture on the roster. If Lily reacted that way to the mere mention of a relationship, Nariko wondered how Lily would react to any kind of intimacy.

Then the sirens went off, as a giant attacked. Nariko did not hesitate - as one whose power was speed, it made sense for her to strike quickly. Thus, within mere seconds of the giant's assault, she was already there. She probably should have coordinated with her Squad, but given the emergency, and the speed at which she could move, every second wasted was a second she could be helping.

Thus, with inhuman speed she grabbed and moved civilians, little more than a pale blur, leaving them confused but safe, out of the way of the giant's path of destruction.

At the same time, every time she passed the giant's legs, her tail blade lashed out towards his ankles. With any luck, she could sever its tendon, and keep it from moving any further.

What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?

Wilma (1)

Wilma grinned up at the thing from a fair distance. The newspapers in a nearby stand floated over, forming into a long-handled warhammer.

"O roiling skies, lend me your power," she chanted as Inspiration crackled and danced in the air. "MJOLNIR, I COMMAND THEE, TAKE FORM!"

The paper blurred—

And in its place seemed to be a copy of Mjolnir—looking quite different to those who had seen it last, but suddenly and inexplicably possessing the same aura of power—which Wilma hefted. She got ready to follow up with a swing at the frost giant's kneecap as she approached it.

Aster (2)

Aster's flesh bloomed and twisted, eldritch armor sprouting out of it with many a disgusting squelching noise. To those who had witnessed it before, it was simply business as usual. To those who hadn't, it was likely to make them lose their lunch.

"Do you think I can wrestle that thing if it comes to that?" she asked rhetorically, cracking her neck and stretching. "Unh...that's better. Grandpa needed to stretch."

Jumping Bean (3)

Jumping Bean was trying to put up barriers with her magical talismans so that collateral damage might be lessened during the battle. She was, in general, trying to hem the creature in.

"Witness my Taoist arts!" she boasted. "Actually, focus on the fight. That sounded way cheesy."

Perry (4)

Perry was helping Orthus secure the perimeter with her ghostly friends, directing civilians out of the battle site. She was sad that she did not get more time to talk with Octavius.

"What weird magic thing happening, eh? she wondered aloud.

'Squad 4-Vivian-Once More Into The Breach

Viv watched the former faculty as they walked into the room, her eyes pausing for just a moment on Armada. She'd wanted to meet up with her old friends (though she did miss Evelyn and hoped the albino girl had gotten her gift), but getting some good footage of the new fish would likely prove useful down the road.

She'd actually been lost in thought when the rumbling started. with a quick glance around she memorized everyone and what they were doing, then smashed out through the nearest wall, then lept to a nearby rooftop and sped off towards the huge figure. As soon as she got behind it, Viv planned to launch herself into the back of its knee as hard as she could.

Lily – Squad 1

It was rather quietly and extremely discreetly that Lily entered back into the room. Somewhat bloodshot in the eyes, she had apparently lingered outside as Cole returned to meet the others. But the rumbles had caught her attention, and so she quickly came back.

Her eyes were already dry due to her hydrokinesis, but it was clear she'd been sobbing. She didn't make any comment on it. She simply walked up to Ellie and caught onto her just as she began her flight. Naturally, since electricity could backfire in contact with her the Aquatos made sure to drop off early. Travelling large distances could be hard, but landing was easy.

She aimed to skim along the side of a building, using subtle manipulations of the water around her person to push herself beside it and dig into  the concrete of its walls with a shard of solidified water. It slowed her down enough to hop off relatively okay, and she combined a roll with a swell of water as she reached the ground to make sure her fall was broken. City traversal wasn't something she was used to, but she could at least improvise.

The giant was... vast. Shockingly vast, in fact. She momentarily hesitated, before realising that if nothing else she could divert its attention for a while. Gathering in the surrounding moisture, she aimed to form a large, semi-crystalline construct resembling a slowly turning flower in front of it's short distance away. One complexed and layered, and hopefully enough to catch its eye.

She could only pray it liked flowers, because it was taking a lot of concentration for her to keep it up.

Rebecca - Squad 3

Rebecca was right with Mikael, as instructed. Until he jumped out the window.

"Dammit, Mikael, you know I can't fly!"

After a quick detour to get on the ground and out the door, Rebecca got to work. Drawing on the trash and grime that permeated any sizeable city, she began erecting a barrier to cut any wandering civilians off from the street the giant was currently rampaging down. Of course, such a barrier would do nothing to stop the giant itself, so she was counting on her new coworkers to keep it contained.

Renée - Squad 1

Fuck. Fuckfuckfuckfuck. This was supposed to be an orientation! She wasn't ready for a fight! Her suit was back at the parking garage, where she'd left it before coming inside! (It wasn't exactly an indoor suit after all. It was the size of a small car).

"Dammit!" As Marky rushed off to confront the giant, Renée ran the other direction, hoping to get her squishy body inside her sturdy suit before it got too close. Thankfully, the parking garage wasn't far, but by the time she got her suit on, most of the others had already begun to fight.

Zach -TECHNICALLY Squad 1

Wait, hang on, I don't-

It took Zach a moment to realize how blatantly cowardly and selfish it would seem if he tried to get out of this situation. Zach had thrown the hero life behind him, he wanted that understood, but at the same time, this thing was a threat to everyone in the city, and there went his friends, to go fight it off.

And here he was, trying to find justifications for NOT fighting it.

He took a deep breath and clenched his fists. It's just one time. He thought to himself. One more time, you go in, you fight something, you be done with it.

He opened his eyes and looked out the window.

....Gives me an excuse so I don't need to mow the lawn.

Two tendrils of black ink suddenly wrapped around the windows opening and sling shot him back out, and in that one burst of exhilaration, Zach was...

...Glad to be back. If only for the moment.

Mason - Squad 4

Tyulla's teasing actually did a fair amount of soothe him, and he gave her a little smile in return. Mason was strict and harsh with him, if only because, well, like she said, he was a worrier. He was worried about the planet. Worried about the city. Worried about the people.

Worried about her.

But he needed to remember these people weren't just running, screaming citizens. H Is friends, his family, were all hardcore badasses when it came to this sort of thing. So when she turned and pouted, he didn't seem exasperated, he instead offered a grin and nodded his head.

"Leave some for me." He laughed. "I"ll be right out."

He took the smaller, black chip with a stylized fire symbol on the front and slammed it into the Genesis Driver. "Hen..." He held his hand up, and then slammed it down. "SHIN!"

He slammed the button down and in a burst of a fireball, Masked Rider Omega Genesis appeared, his armor far more intricate, a little bulkier with a massive pair of flaming wings behind him that fell into a cape behind him.

Then, kicking the ground and exploding upwards with a shout, his wings erupted out and he flew out the window, eager to join the fray.

Octavius - Squad 3

"Finally, some god damn action!" Octavius shouted as he kicked the chair in front of him and allowed his foot to fall before him, and he grinned, adjusting his hat and looking outside. The thundering footsteps allowed his heart to hammer away in excitement.

Big, old guys like that usually had good treasure, right? Had to be something good on that thing! And the sooner he brought it down, the better!

So he stomped out of the building and brought his fingers to his mouth in a shrill whistle, where suddenly, he and only he started to hover into the air. Once he was a decent height in the air, the air around him flickered in a green energy and suddenly, he was standing atop the bow of a ghastly, shimmering Ghost Ship, the Jolly Roger tattered and torn but flapping proudly.

"ALRIGHT YA BILGERAT! YOU JUST PICKED A BAD TIME, CAUSE NOW YOU'RE AT THE MERCY OF CAPTAIN DREADNAUT!" The cannons stuck out on other side, and he grinned wildly. "I SUGGEST YA PRAY TO WHATEVER GOD YOU HAVE, BECAUSE I'M SENDING YOU TO THE DEPTHS!"

Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun?

Supercity

The frost giant had continued to march toward HQ, carving a bloody path of destruction through its' mindless rampage. Rebecca and the others managed to evacuate any civilians and prop up sufficient barriers, though it only did so much. Though the giant may have met its' match. Suddenly it found itself facing a multi-pronged assault. Lightning blasts, rifle-fire, knees to the back and whatever else were assaulting it on all sides, with the crowning achievement being one mighty blow from Saint Lad. It was enough to send the giant reeling, though it managed to stand its' ground.

It seemed as though the giant was about to raise its' ax and strike, but just as it was about to send it crashing down, something caught its' eye. Specifically Lily's flower. It may have been a berserker warrior, but apparently it had an eye for beauty. And so, its' gaze filled with wonder, it slowly lowered its' arm, lumbering over to the flower as its' rage began to dim. Though the slightest provocation was almost sure to set it off.

Lily – Squad 1

HOLY CRAP IT'S WORKING

“GUYS IT'S–”

Nope! No! Shut up! You could startle it! Just... oh come on guys, just look...

In an effort to make a better impression, Lily swiftly began to make her way up to its line of sight. Using a combination of water whips and boosts from swells of her water, she hitched onto the side of the building closest to it— creating another, smaller flower in her palm and holding it out to the jötunn.

Hopefully a calm smile and a more benevolent approach would help. She could only hope. She was on the verge of a panic attack again but she was managing to hold out this time.

Holiday – Squad 2

“Target has stopped. I repeat, target has stopped. Please refrain from unnecessary fire. I am still escorting civilians,” Holiday called out, continuing to usher the small group of families she had managed to collect together down a path she had predesignated as safe. A glance up told her all she needed to know, and she shook her head in slight disbelief.

Of course there was the millions of dollars in property damage to deal with, but that was another matter entirely.

Tyulla – Squad 4

The Primordial was about ready to fly full-force into the face of the giant, but then the thing proceeded to look at flowers and lost all sense of intimidation. Tyulla sighed, cutting off her forward momentum and causing her form to momentarily lose its shape as its inertia had a momentary existential crisis. She looked around for anything—any sign of something for her to blow up and get away with—but found only zilch. Grumbling disappointedly, she crossed her arms and waited at a safe distance.

Come on... do something wrong...

Rebecca - Squad 3

It... stopped. The giant seemed like it was coming out of its confused state. Maybe it could even be reasoned with. It was undeniably dangerous, but maybe they could deal with things without further bloodshed.

… If the trigger-happy half-demon and her other teammates didn't screw it up.

Rebecca took out the communicator she had been given at orientation and pressed the button to contact her squad.

"Squad 3, this is Pollutrix. We might be able to talk this thing down. Whatever you do, don't attack unless it shows signs of renewed aggression."

Renée - Squad 1

It was around the time the giant calmed down that Renée, now clad in her Salamander armor, reached the scene.

And blinked confusedly.

"Umm... did I miss the fight?"

Squad 1 - Ellie

Ellie charged up another lightning bolt, only for the creature to calm down. Lily's offering seemed to make it reconsider, and so she let her lightning abide for the moment, though she was still ready to attack if the giant got angry again.

Squad 3 - Mikael

"Copy that." Mikael replied with his own communicator. "I'll text Van and let him know we're talking the thing down, in case he happens to finally show up."

Slipping his communicator back in his pocket, he pulled out his phone from where it was clipped to his belt and did exactly that. It was entirely likely that the vampire wasn't going to show up at all - if Van had been anywhere in the city he'd probably have come running when the giant first appeared - but better safe than sorry.

He kept his gun at his side, his arm lowered but tense. With such a big target, it would be easy to snap his gun up and quickshot the thing if need be.

Squad 4 - Nariko

She had heard the Aquatos's fighting style was something beautiful, but Lily must have a particular eye for beauty to seemingly entrance the giant. Though it had settled down, Nariko continued to evacuate nearby civilians.

She briefly considered running up the giant's back while it was distracted and severing his spinal cord, but Lily seemed to have the situation under control.

"Peregrine," She leaned over the medium, arms folded behind her. "Have you a frost giant handy to contact from the other side? Or anything that speaks jötunn that you can channel to help us communicate?"

Although they were just assuming that it didn't speak any language on Earth. Likely but no reason Peregrine couldn't try English too.

Iridium Wonders – Saint Foundation HQ

Oh....my. That sure is a loinclothed giant.

Also, damn, the others were instantly ready to attack.

Their barrage instantly brought the jötunn to its knees.

"I think that the others already subdued the giant, hehe", he awkwardly replied to Martin with a sweatdrop.

The current discussion was about trying to find a way to talk to it. The idea about letting Perry talk to the giant in whatever language it spoke was brilliant but...

"Wouldn't it be much easier if we could just pacify it first?", Dante asked, insecure, as he approached Mahvash and Perry, "If you make an error, that Ymir lookalike might explode from rage...."

It took a moment, but a text went to Mikael;

You guys are fighting a GIANT!? Damn I'm missing out. Got sidetracked dealing with a real frustrating bunch.

Then another text came in;

SRY about the orientation btw. Just got done over here. I was heading over when a bunch of magic using cyborg ninjas attacked me outta nowhere.

He then texted an image showing him standing in front of a bunch of forms restrained by tendrils of his blood. Each figure was covered head to toe in what looked like a cybernetic shell.

Dunno what their deal is, but I'm heading over now. C YA SOON!

Squad 3 — Saint Foundation HQ

Who does this "Interceptor" dude think he is?! Like seriously, who does he think he is?!

...Anyway, there's this giant ice dude that is going towards them. So what Mari does is: she went towards a table, which had an empty punch bowl.

I barely see my reflection in there...good...

Mari then literally jumped into the bowl, gradually disappearing into it.

The FBHMnote  came out of the window of car that was near the rampaging giant.

She landed with a roll and got up.

What she did next was to evacuate all of the civilians in this area along with Holiday and Rebecca. During this, she took a look at the giant.

Tch. That idiotic giant got entranced by that water flower...which is obviously not impressive at all. But whatever...someone will definitely mess up...I'm sure of it...and when that actually happens, it will be my time to shine, huhuhuhuhuh!

Squad 4 — Saint Foundation HQ

"Ty it is, then...", Iuvem replied with a smile.

Things then got hectic when a giant, a jotunn to be more precise, was rampaging near the HQ. And it even seemed to be going towards it.

And everyone surely went all ballistic on the dude, with Ms. Aquatos's flower-like water construct seemingly quelling the jotunn's rage.

Iuvem went out to see the current situation from a close yet safe-ish range. In fact, he was levitating around the giant, so that, if the giant goes in a rampage again, he would try to quickly stop it.

"Dante Precossini," She acknowledged him briefly, efficiently. "No."

"Peregrine," Mahvash gave her a nod, in case the timing of the words aggravated her self-doubt. She didn't spend much time around the medium. Peregrine had seemed to do adequately under pressure. "Take your time. You're well suited to reach the Big Show there. Bonus: look around you whenever you want and you'll see backup."

Assuming she could in fact channel a translator. If not, there was the Sam and Ryuu thing.

"That being said, something summoned that thing here, even if we are going to let others deal with calming it down we should be ready to deal with anything else suddenly dropped on us. Or better yet find the source." he wouldn't believe for a moment that this sort of chaos would just happen to fall on a day like this. But the power to summon something a step under a god wasn't the type of thing that just happened. A ritual spell like that would take time and effort. Or else be done by something with enough power to overwrite the rules.

"Well team, any theories on what could summon a Frost Giant to Earth without any level of fanfare?" he walked closer to Mahvash, a smile on his face. "You know I kind of like this. Daily disasters, working on the same team again. Finally getting back into spending time together."

Iridium Wonders – Saint Foundation HQ

Dante made an annoyed pout, "Fuggetaboutit, then..."

In his opinion, he should have used the Lilith Facade to fully calm the jötunn down, just to make sure that it won't just go in a rampage again, and then let Ms. Alastor negotiate with it in Jötunnese.

But whatever. They want to gamble? Fine. He'll let them be. Heroes have to take risks most of the time. But, if by any chance, this plan of theirs get fucked up in one way or another, he'll have the right to say "Told you so".

"Maybe some god from the Norse pantheon got angry for some damned reason at someone in this realm, who may be the Foundation...or us, and decided to send this giant here to wreck havoc and also neutralize us", Dante grumpily theorized, not really putting some thought into this theory.

However he heard about a squad (either Squad 3 or Squad 1) confronting a Norse god during the community service they did back in the Academy year, so it would make some shred of sense...

Super City

Just as it seemed as though the brute may have been dealt with, more blurs suddenly manifested, each several blocks away from the other. And each left another frost giant in their wake. Like the first, they didn't waste any time in acting like a child having a tantrum and laying waste to anything in their path. As if one wasn't bad enough.

Zach - "Squad 1"

Oh, thank goodness, it'd been sated. Zach sighed in silent relief when he approached the sight of the battle and found one of the newer Squad 1 mates (Something about a flower, Rose? Something like that?) had tamed the thing. So, maybe, just maybe, he didn't need to get down and fight this thing as he feared.

He was however, very cautious about it. He approached the edge of the building, currently clad in his all black humanoid shape, arms crossed over his chest and four large, razor sharp tendrils sticking out from his back, embedded into the ground like he was preparing to launch out, like some kind of horrible, ink like spider. He looked between everyone and nodded his head.

Alright, nice and quiet. He could live with this.

And then more of them arrived. And Zach's hopes for a calm Sunday afternoon were dashed and ruined. And with a sigh and an annoyed roll of his head, he leaped down.

At the very least, he could subdue them, he thought to himself as he wrapped one tendril around one Frost Giant's arms, and the other around the other, attempting to pin it down.

Mason - Squad 4

Similarly, Mason was also relieved that a giant, climactic battle was no longer necessary and sighed as he flew through the air. The "wings" died back down into the capes and he hovered in mid air from the jet propulsion in his boots. The scene had a quiet kind of beauty behind it, and he found himself sighing in relief that Tyulla wouldn't need to reduce a city block to rubble JUST yet.

Still, that didn't mean her annoyance wasn't palpable. She'd get over it, but Mason had a history with those pouting sessions. He knew that this would either end in a fight and she'd be sated, or she would be skulking around the house, mad and pent up with various explosive energies.

Literally and figuratively.

So he needed to nip that in the bud immediately, floating up beside his odd friend and gestured off to the side. "Hey, look, I know it's not the big punching building exploding fight you wanted but...we can still get sweets after this? Not a total loss, right?"

And then more appeared. And he looked over and held his hands up.

"Alright, cool, look at that, looks like we get to fight after all." he said, casually and looking over at her. "Go nuts, let loose."

Octavius - Squad 3

Octavius was a pirate, and he looked forward to battles the likes of which would make most normal people's skin crawls. Horrible zombie pirates, titanic krakens...hell, at some pointed he wanted to take a swing at Chtulhu. But he also knew when not to fight, and if the situation didn't need to run to the direct path of violence, well he wasn't going to just sit back and cause untold destruction.

He got that out of his system around 1845, the Caribbean was fun that year.

So with his arms crossed, he turned on a heel and grunted. "All the pomp and circumstance for fuckin' nothing." He grunted as he walked down the bow of the ship, grumbling and cracking his neck in irritation. "Waste of my fuckin' Sunday."

He disappeared into the ethereal depths of his ship, mumbling something about "breaking out the good stuff", when a voice spoke to him in the back of his mind.

Ļ̵͔͓͛̽̎̒͜ȏ̸͈̩̖̩̇̍́͠͝ỏ̷̭̘̥̼̬́̓͆͜k̴̠͎͇̅̈s̴̗͕̹̿̇̃ ̷͎̈́̽̑̉̄͛l̵͓̼̓̿͜ĩ̸̦̹̬̜͊̈́́͒k̵̭̟̝̪̩̖̈̇̂͌ę̴͋ ̵͚̤̭̺̀͛y̴̝̰̭̦͔̍̓ớ̸͇͓͔̺͂͊̽u̵̩͖̱̗̎ ̸̹̹̮͎̞͌͊̍ș̸͆̎̈́t̶̡̝͖͈̐ȉ̴̗͙͓̀̍l̴̛͇̟͚͖͕̅̋̈́̔̕l̷̺͋ ̵̢̪̮̺̩̎h̵̻͠ͅȧ̶̡̂͊́v̵̗͎͊̕è̷̛̦̤̉̋͛́ ̷̲̈́ą̷͕͕͎̤͇͊̇͆͠ ̷̨̗̙̱̊̃̃̑̂͝c̶̠͛h̵̨̖̗̅̈́ā̴̡͍̜́́n̸̰̎̄c̶̢̤̬̥͐̔̆e̶͉͇̞̰̙͋,̶̡̙̯̬̩̔ ̸̧̫̫̯́̋̿̄ṁ̸̢͖̪̾̅͑̅o̸̢̗̞̭͚̱̓́̈͂̚r̶̰̖̩̳̻͗͋͐̀̃̈ͅt̵̡̎̀̕̚̕ā̴̧̟̫͎͕̒̂͘l̷͚̘̙͔͉̝̐̾́̀̐.̶̯́.̷̻̪͈̐́͜.̴͉͕̊̑̀̑'

The excitement that Octavius showed was VERY unbecoming of a Pirate Lord such as himself, as he spun on his heel again and quickly rushed his way back up the stairs he was halfway down. He grinned.

Four giants? Four times the treasure!

"OPEN FIRE!" He commanded to the no-one on his ship, as one side of the cannons adjusted, aimed, and spat out glowing, green cannonballs made entirely out of energy.

This was gonna be FUN.

Cole - Squad 4 (63)

"...Well, looks like we're dealing with an invasion force instead of a bumbling idiot." He got ready for a fight after it looked like the last one was dealt with via the more peaceful means. Considering how powerful these creatures were, he wondered if their minds were as reinforced as their bodies... This brought him to a conclusion.

Picking out one of the ice giants, Cole commenced unleashing a psychic assault on its mind - rather than go for anything fancy or particularly intricate, he just went for trying to shut off its mental faculties and bring it down that way. If that failed...well, there was always more physical means.

Saint Lad - Squad 1

Walking back over to the others as the calm before the storm proceeded, it looked like Saint Lad felt at ease.

Marky was just about to let out a sigh of relief when it looked like things resolved themselves when things most definitely didn't. More frost giants, after all the trouble they went through in just dealing with one. He clenched a fist and got ready for another round.

He looked around for his team and asked, "Yo, anyone got a dope plan for this? Like, we gotta jack these Lunchn giants up 'fore things get any worse out here!"

Lily – Squad 1

Okay, now it's time to use some force, Lily conceded, deciding to ignore the frost giant that had started it all as she instead locked her sights onto the second nearest one to her. I really really hope this was just some mistake... but either way we have to take care of it somehow...

Risking the idea that they were perhaps entranced by beauty, Lily began forming more flower constructs in the air in front of them—only to abruptly shatter them and ruthlessly pelt the giants with shards to the face. A rather underhanded tactic, but if it proved efficient it may be the most reliable way. The Aquatos penchant for flowing movement and improvisation was only overruled by their teachings of pragmatism.

I.e. it wasn't the prettiest thing to watch, but if it worked it worked.

Holiday – Squad 2

With the change in situation, Holiday felt it prudent to activate her more lethal measures. After making sure the civilians she'd been escorting knew where to go, she left them in the hands of the other squads and her fellow ACPs—beginning to run through the new mass of jötnar and plant grenades in the backs of their feet. Hopefully enough to stagger them when they went off. After repeating this process for a few more, she suddenly latched onto one—beginning the slow, difficult and undoubtedly painful process of climbing up its form. It was somewhat made easier by the fact her physical strength was enough to puncture hand/footholds into it, but even the slightest movement from it ended up with her flailing momentarily.

Just needed to reach the head. Assuming it ran on basic humanoid logic, it was probably where the good stuff was.

Tyulla – Squad 4

The Primordial indeed looked a little huffy at the whole situation before it escalated, barely grunting at the mention of a visit to the sweet shop by her friend and having settled on what would have undoubtedly been a frown to last the rest of the morning. With the arrival of more giants, though, her face visibly lit up in excitement again—and Mason's given permission caused her to let out a cheerful whoop as she took off to take one of the creatures down.

Barely weaving through buildings (she forgot that people lived in there for a moment), she only halted when she was a good hundred feet away from her targeted jötunn, and promptly began to charge up. With a gradually crescendoing roar of effort, pinkish ripples of energy began to pulse from her form; visibly warping the air around her with its potency and causing the nearby windows to vibrate and shatter. Eventually reaching her peak (or whatever level of power she had judged to be sufficient in using), Tyulla straightened herself, raised a single hand, and giggled maniacally as a crackling ball of magenta plasma formed in her palm.

“Catch.”

With a rather ungraceful lob, the pink energy ball spiralled its way towards the head of the giant in a corkscrew pattern, leaving trails of dark lightning that danced past the rooftops in its wake. Watching its approach anxiously, Tyulla began bouncing up and down in the air in both impatience and anticipation.

Iridium Wonders

"Spending time together under fire?" She smirked at the man. "Well, this is poetry in motion."

With the lad, despite the venting, the æsir and vanir were an idea though frost giants were their traditional enemy.

"We have to get some words from it." She responded to Martin's query. There were alot of possibilities and portals to other dimensions were a dime a dozen in modernity. "Though finding out who has an interest in the old Norse and can summon will narrow things down."
"Or we can ask one of them..." She tilted her head when the disturbances manifested moments before new giants emerged, just as disoriented as before.

"As before, transfer the battle out of developed territory. Ryuu can carry our target into the bay with Martin and I." Especially with Holiday staggering it with hot foot. "When Holiday finishes her Colossus Climb," She seemed to be with the group now, and Mahvash couldn't really blame the bot for wanting to climb a giant. That *is* fun. "She can help clear out anything in the way. And don't disturb the quiet one."
"I'm going to work on sealing off this area as soon as the giant's in the air."
