Well some Nazi portrays have some amount of humor albeit it dark crude comedy, but Stormfront is not so funny recently...Especially with her speech in E6.

I will say what this season is doing remarkably well is diving into the complexities of the supes, it has lead to less development of The Boys themselves but has made the conflict a lot more interesting than the first season. I do think that is a good thing, as the emphasis is now on The Boys having marginal government support and thus aren't as sociopathic as they were forced to be previously.

What's impressed me most was how the show could easily drop The Deep as having completed his story, but has gone out of the way to show him as pitiable and attempt some sort of redemption. Homelander himself is shown to have chinks in facade, and Sitwells death was less the catalyst and more showing how she was barely keeping him grounded.

I just saw episode 5, beforehand I was thinking how Queen Maeve was being underused but by this point she's becoming my favorite character. I'm a fan of the "silently suffering" character archetype, particularly because the one who stays quiet tends to stay around long enough to know everything that is going on.

Okay I caught up.

Oh God that's Love Sausage's power? Good lord I thought he just had a big dick, thats fucking disgusting what he can actually do.

And he's a major enough supporting character in the comic, fucking Hell man........

Its kinda funny that the show went the opposite way with Love Sausage, as in making his comic "weakness" his actual superpower in the show.

Someone else brought up the idea of the Boys getting Compound V injections, and while I don't think the show will actually go down that route, I think it would be interesting to see them all get unique powers of their own, rather than the identical "brick" powerset they all shared in the comics.

I don't really have ideas on what those powers would be, but I think it would be neat.

I can see Butcher ending up getting a dose of Compound V and ending up becoming a "supe freak." Possibly the reasons for this will somehow involve saving Hughie in some way.

On the further reveal that the majority of Stormfront's backstory has been kept in line with the comics from being an ageless Nazi & the first hero, it makes me think that Black Noir's reveal will be kept. Well mostly just being a living contingency for Homelander, the rest of it who knows how they'll interpret it.

Also it once again raises even more interest in Edgar. Stormfront basically shows herself to be a bonafide firm believer in the Aryan ideal & considers herself a soldier in the culture war of the invading "impure races". So like Edgar must have some kind of contingency especially since Stormfront just recruited Homelander to take over the world.

I'm still not seeing anything that suggests that the series version of Black Noir is actually much use as an anti-Homelander contingency. The only other Supe whose shown they might even have a chance in a fight is Stormfront and even then it seems an outside chance. In-universe it's possible that Babylander is intended by Vought to eventually replace Daddy dearest but he's definitely not there yet and won't be unless there's a huge time skip or time travel hijinks which both seem unlikely.

More likely they've got some sort of Kryptonite Factor on hand for Homelander. Any contingency against an insane super that relies on another insane super to beat the crap out of him is a bad contingency.

Yeah my money is on some drug that counteracts superpowers or trigger phrases or something.

Vought just having someone as strong as Homelander, but totally loyal seems a little unlikely.

I don't know if this is what was meant to be implied or not, but do you think that woman with the strong telekinetic powers that escaped the Vought Facility is the same one that assasinated that CIA agent because she got too close to the truth?

Does that mean that her powers work from far-way distances? Because I seriously doubt they would just let her out of her cell.

I can definitely see how someone would get that impression, but I dont think that's it.

I will say, the fact that no one has really done any work on finding out who did that, this far into the season, is odd.

Like we know it was Vought, most likely. But no other details.

Uh wow. Damn. RIP Lamplighter, if you'd just waited 2 frigging minutes you could've gotten Redemption Equals Death by way of Black Noir. Who is now definitively not a clone of Homelander.

Now, as amusing as him being defeated by Almond Joy is, it also kind of ruined a serious moment.

[up][up] There's a still from episode 8 where a hand that appears to be Billy Butcher's is being offered to a really displeased looking Stan Edgar. With Stormfront being an outright Nazi and Edgar being decidedly non-Aryan, I think Raynor's remark about a "coup from the inside" is referring to Stormfront intending to take over Vought and get rid of Edgar.

I'm betting the Church of the Collective leader is the head popper, and Cindy doing that was a Red Herring.

How does making peoples' heads explode during a congressional hearing do anything other than draw more scrutiny towards Vought...

That could very well be the point.

It certainly seems too heavy handed for someone like Mr. Edgar, so as someone else mentioned it might be the Church. Destabilizing the seven and Vought in general would let them seed the organization with their people.

Especially considering that a Vought employee was killed as well.

Just watched the most recent ep.

Homelander didn't seem surprised. Though he seemed more bemused than anything else. I'm not sure if he knew it was going to happen, or was just like well, this is a convenient twist in my favour however.

Still, it's not something worth losing your head over.

Homelander definitely didn't seem to understand what was going on, in terms of who/what was responsible.

But he also didn't care...because he's Homelander.

So I didn't mention it, but I happen to share a birthday with a member of the cast of this show....which is weird, cause I feel like I've written that post somewhere, but I can't find it. Anyway, not only was this person born the same day as me, but even in the same year, making us the same age.

Also, that same cast member (and myself) share a birthday with someone from the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation. This person is much older, and was not born in the same year however.

Not gonna say who, cause I have no desire to reveal my current age (I've mentioned it a few times before, but I've decided not to do so anymore), so I'm gonna be a dick (not a Homelander level dick however) and leave you all guessing who this person is.

I'm leaning towards the Church being responsible for the headsplosions as the head guy very specifically mentioned he had a meeting with Edgar coming up, and he's been recruiting supers himself. Seems like he's up to something. Wouldn't be surprised if Homelander takes the blame In-universe though, it might even be the point.

Not sure if we're going to see Ryan again this season or if that's set up for what comes after.
